New Poll: Almost Half of Americans do not like the Tea Party that much

Uh Oh, Tea Party! Your foolishness is boiling over. Almost half of Americans are not feeling y'all and it's growing everyday.
A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday indicates that 32 percent of the public has a favorable view of the two year old anti-tax movement, which also calls for less government spending and a more limited role for the federal government in our lives. The 32 percent favorable rating is down five points from December.

Forty-seven percent of people questioned say they have an unfavorable view of the tea party, up four points from December and an increase of 21 points from January 2010. That 47 percent is virtually identical to the 48 percent unfavorable ratings for both the Democratic party and the Republican party in the same poll.

"This is the first time that a CNN poll has shown the tea party's unfavorable ratings as high as those of the two major parties," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "It looks like the rise in the movement's unfavorable rating has come mostly among people who make less than $50,000."

The tea party movement's unfavorable rating rose 15 points since October among lower-income Americans, compared to only five points among those making more than $50,000. Roughly half of all American households have incomes under $50,000, and half make more than that.

"It's possible the drop among lower income Americans is a reaction to the tea party's push for large cuts in government programs that help lower-income Americans, although there are certainly other factors at work," adds Holland.
I'm glad that folks are seeing the Tea Party for the mess they really are.

The On-going Drama of the Bi-National Same Sex Immigration Cases

The Bi-National Same Sex immigration cases has been the talk for the past few days. While things seemed by on the good side, new information over the hold has sparked more questions... To be honest, I'm confused, but maybe this could explain some things.
An announcement by immigration officials in Washington on Monday that they were delaying decisions on some immigration cases involving gay couples led to a surge of expectations among gay advocates that the Obama administration had taken a small but significant step toward recognizing same-sex marriage.

But on Tuesday, immigration officials moved swiftly to clarify their position and dampen those hopes, saying they have not made any policy changes that would provide an opening to gay couples. The episode added to the legal confusion that has followed the administration’s determination last month that the law that bars the federal government from recognizing gay marriages, the Defense of Marriage Act, is unconstitutional.

In this case, the misunderstandings and soaring hopes arose from an effort in recent days by officials at Citizenship and Immigration Services, the federal agency that awards immigration status, to clarify their policy on granting permanent residency green cards to immigrants legally married to American citizens who are gay. While it is routine for American citizens in heterosexual couples to obtain green cards for their foreign spouses, the Defense of Marriage Act has barred such status for immigrants in same-sex marriages.

That situation has long been a focus of criticism by gay rights groups, who argue that the law is particularly discriminatory against immigrants. “If you are in a bi-national couple that is heterosexual, you get to stay here and work here,” said Richard Socarides, a lawyer who is president of Equality Matters, a gay rights advocacy group. “If you are gay, you get deported.”

Indiana Senate approves banning gay marriage

Mess! Mess! Mess!

The Indiana Senate has the nerve to approved a possible amendment banning gay marriage and civil unions by a vote of 40-10.
If the General Assembly passes the measure again in 2013 or 2014, it would go to the voters in 2014, before the state constitution can be amended.

The Indiana House already approved the measure.

Democratic Sen. Tim Lanane of Anderson argued that attitudes toward same-sex marriages are rapidly changing and the amendment would make it difficult for future changes in state law.

Current state law prohibits gay marriages. Amendment sponsor Sen. Dennis Kruse of Auburn says the measure would provide maximum protection for the basic family unit of society.
This is ridic! Protection for the family unit? How? How, does ban gay marriage protect the family? If they can prove that to be true... Oh, they can't!

Gay Comic Character gets His Mini-Series

Archie's Kevin Keller gets his own 4 part mini-series.

The four-issue series shows how Keller arrived in Riverdale, where he's become close pals with Archie and the gang. But it will also deal with heavier fare than the typical "Archie" comic -- including how the character struggled with coming out to his parents, and bullying.

If the title does as well as Archie co-CEO Jon Goldwater expects, it could lead to an ongoing series for the character, whose presence in the imaginary town would have been unthinkable not long ago. "This is the most important book this company has released in 70 years," Goldwater said.
Sounds exciting, I hope these are good stories to read about.

Is WB Executive Jeff Robinov planning a Justice League movie?

In LA Times, Jeff Robinov talks about his job, but he also spills the tea on the future of DC Comics in films.

His most immediate hurdle is filling the void that will be left this summer when the multibillion-dollar "Harry Potter" series shepherded by Horn ends. Robinov is betting on DC Comics characters to take center stage starting in June with the $200-million-plus production "Green Lantern."

He's then aiming to release new "Batman" and "Superman" films in 2012 and "Justice League," a teaming of DC's top heroes, in 2013.

Many agree that Robinov's greatest strength is his willingness to take creative risks on ambitious movies — a rarity in a business that increasingly plays it safe. "I think what defines Warner Bros. is the filmmaker choices on our event movies," he said.
A JL movie? What would that look like? And who would put it together, hopefully not Zack Snyder.

Barney Frank Plans to Introduce ENDA the Week

Word on the street is ENDA will on the table this week. Metro Weekly has the details:
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) plans to introduce the Employment Non-Discrimination Act in the House on Wednesday, according to two LGBT equality advocates with direct knowledge of the congressman's plans. Frank's communications director, Harry Gural, confirmed that the plans are "to formally announce ENDA this week," although he added over the weekend that specifics are not yet nailed down and were expected to be so by this afternoon.

The bill, which Gural says will be the same exact bill as that introduced in the 111th Congress, would prohibit most employers from discriminating in hiring and promotions on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Although the bill is not expected to move forward in the House under the leadership of Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), Frank, talking with Metro Weekly on Sunday, March 27, says, "It's an organizing tool. Obviously, with the Republicans in power, you're not going to get the bill even considered."
But, Frank -- the longest-serving out member of Congress -- says, "I'm going to be urging people to spend their time talking to those who have voted in the past for ENDA and are supportive of ENDA but where we're not certain they're still with us on the transgender issue."

Hopefully, they will add the Transgender piece in the bill. Our fam has to be represented!

Late Night View: On Top of Oahu

Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane

Amy Adams will play Lois Lane in the new Superman movie.

LA Times' Hero Complex has the scoop
The 36-year-old star got the news on Sunday from director Zack Snyder, who phoned her from Paris, where he was promoting his just-opened film, “Sucker Punch.” There had been a crush of Hollywood interest in the lead female role in the Warner Bros. project but Snyder said that after meeting with Adams, she was the clear choice to take on a character that dates back to 1938 and has long represented the strong, professional woman who can hold her own against any man – even if he can leap tall buildings in a single bound.

I like Amy! What do you think?

The 'Drug that made me a Sex Crazed Homesexual' Man went to Court this Weekend

This is a mess and a bag foolishness. A man that claimed the drug, ReQuip turned him into a raging homosexual hulk was in court on Friday.

Here's the story

A straight, married man and father claimed in court on Friday that a prescribed Parkinson’s disease drug turned him into a gay, cross-dressing sex addict.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Didier Jambart, 52, started to expose himself on the Internet and seek sexual encounters with other men - claiming the behaviour change also led to him being raped - after taking the GlaxoSmithKline drug ReQuip (Ropinirole) to combat his Parkinson’s disease in 2003.

Jambart appeared in court in the French city of Nantes on Friday, where he sought £390,000 in compensation from the pharmaceutical company for what he claims to be a “defective drug”.

He said, as reported by the Daily Mail: “After first taking the drugs I was bursting with energy, I would get up at four in the morning and run ten-and-a-half kilometers, but later, it went more than too far.”

Jambart claims the effects of the drug led him to attempt suicide eight times.

“My life was ruined”, he said. “My family and I were treated like we had the plague.”

“I have to take this matter to court – it may be a David and Goliath struggle but after all I’ve been through I want to get my dignity back,”
I think this man just got caught fooling around and can't deal with it... Sad

Interesting Quote: Elbridge James, Executive Director of Maryland Black Family Alliance

"Transgender Marylanders, especially transpeople of color, face significant discrimination, violence, and harassment in almost every aspect of their lives. The struggle to find ones identity should never be diminished by discrimination, harassment, or violence. Discrimination in Maryland comes at a price and is unjust. It's time for our state to join 12 other states across the country in ending discrimination against transgender Marylanders."
He's talking about House Bill 235, the Gender Identity Anti-Discrimination Act, a bill that will protect transgender people in housing, employment and credit in Maryland.

Update the House just passed the bill
Today the Maryland House voted 86-52 to pass HB 235, the Gender Identity Anti-Discrimination Act, legislation that would end discrimination in employment, housing and credit for Transgender Marylanders.

A report put out in February 2011 by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and the National Center for Transgender Equality found that 1 in 5 transgender people in Maryland have lost a job due to discrimination and 12% have become homeless.

Advocates emphasize that this law is a matter of life-or-death for some Marylanders and call on supporters to help secure passage this year.

Equality Maryland, along with members of the House of Delegates, and the LGBT Caucus, celebrate this victory and acknowledge the work ahead.
This is great news to start the day!

I was Suckered from Sucker Punch

I just saw Sucker Punch and I have to give Zack credit for putting something (semi) original on screen. He’s very good at visual guts and glory scenes, but story? Not so much.

The main girl, Babydoll, gets thrown in an insane asylum for girls. Think Annie’s orphanage for the wicked.

She is going to get lobotomize for being “crazy”, but it’s that moment she retreats into her mind. There, in some form, Badydoll is in a Showgirls-ish playhouse where she and other girls are dancers for money (i.e. Tina Turner’s Private Dancer).

Later, she learns that she has the power of psychic/mystic dance (like Spiral from Mojoworld) that allows her mesmerizes her suitors to get 5 special items for freedom. She gets help from the other crazy girls: Rockett, Amber, Blondie and Sweet Pea to follow her into another fantasy world. The goal is total freedom through sacrifice and garter belts.

I know this is confusing, but think how it felt sitting in the theater watching this. Anywho, I thought this was an artistic mess; however, I’m going to give you my review in classic bullet point form! Get Excited!
·      Again, it was a pretty film to watch… Without the sound.
·      The pieces of the story didn’t make sense. The 3 tier mind f**k was a bit confusing and a bit much.
·      They kept talking about empowerment, but all I saw was sexy girls in SuperHo outfits listening and catering to men. No Xena here!

·      The fantasy pieces were not cute. They were very confined to guns, ninjas, dragons and robots. Basically, these were straight teenaged boy fantasies and not really the fantasies of Babydoll. And, the fight scenes were okay, just okay.
·      The soundtrack was not on par with the movie. By the way, the movie was set in the 1930’s, however we got 2 songs from ‘Fight Club’ and ‘The Craft’. Also the music was all a cliché of action movies.
·      The 2nd tier fantasy never really explained why they were dancers or why Babydoll’s dances were that powerful.
·      My partner was so upset with this movie that he walked out midway through.
·      This film was a live action video game. All action, nowhere to go.
·      If Freddy Krueger were in this movie, it would have been the best ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ ever.

I recommend you to not see this film. It's pretty much Sailor Moon for horny teen boys.

Uganda puts away the 'Kill the Gays' Bill, for now

The anti-gay bill is shelved for now, but the hateful bastard David Bahati will continue to push it.
Information minister Masiko Kabakumba appeared Thursday on NTV to announce that the administration of President Yoweri Museveni had determined the Anti-Homosexuality Bill to be redundant because other laws already criminalize gay people in the country. The new proposal, which sparked international outcry when it was introduced in 2009, would magnify the penalties to include execution for “aggravated homosexuality,” such as having sex when HIV-positive.

Kabakumba said that another law, the Sexual Offenses Bill, would cover any outstanding concerns, but Bahati, the lawmaker with connections to antigay American evangelicals, insisted that a “specific and clear” law is still needed to fight the “promotion” of homosexuality. In addition, Warren Throckmorton reports that Bahati has been assured by legal and parliamentary affairs committee chair Stephen Tashobya that debate on the Anti-Homosexuality Bill will proceed.

Bahati said that “95%” of Ugandans do not support homosexuality, a claim that Kabakumba did not challenge.

“Of course we are concerned,” she said. “We don’t condone homosexuality in our country.”

Rep. Michele Bachmann is Forming a Presidential Exploratory Committee

This has to be a joke! The Queen of Fools is seriously thinking about being President so much that she's getting a exploratory committee together.
CNN has exclusively learned that Rep. Michele Bachmann will form a presidential exploratory committee. The Minnesota Republican plans to file papers for the committee in early June, with an announcement likely around that same time.

But a source close to the congresswoman said that Bachmann could form the exploratory committee even earlier than June so that she could participate in early Republican presidential debates.

"She's been telling everyone early summer," the source told CNN regarding Bachmann's planned June filing and announcement. But the source said that nothing is static.

"If you [debate sponsors] come to us and say, 'To be in our debates, you have to have an exploratory committee,' then we'll say, 'Okay, fine...I'll go file the forms.'"
Girl, stop while you are ahead!

Target Doesn't Like Gay Protesters

They really don't. In fact, they are suing the group, Canvass For A Cause, for talking to the customers about their practices.
On Friday morning, Superior Court Judge Jeffrey B. Barton will listen to arguments from both sides after Minnesota-based Target Corp. sued the San Diego-based Canvass For A Cause (CFAC) to prevent the grass-roots activist group from gathering petition signatures in front of its stores in California.

The fundamental American right to free speech is at the heart of this case, said Tres Watson, executive director of CFAC who is a San Diego resident.

In an earlier court date on March 8, Judge Barton denied a motion by Target’s attorneys seeking a temporary restraining order against CFAC. Barton ruled that the right of free speech trumps over the business interest of Target in refusing the request.

In a court document, a Target official at the Poway store complained that CFAC volunteers were talking to customers about gay marriage, among other issues, and contended that they had received complaints from some customers who were upset by the topic.

Court documents also show that Target Corp. is worried that the company may be viewed as being for gay marriage if activist groups like CFAC are allowed to speak to their customers.
Really, Target? Do they think folks will really think that? Silly company.

A Gay storyline in 'Days of Our Lives'?

This will be interesting. Apparently, there a gay storyline coming to DOOL; and it's about time, considering most of audience of 'Days' has been gays for the last 40 years.

EW.com reports

As Days of Our Lives celebrates its 45th anniversary in daytime, the traditionally conservative soap is about to get a lot more contemporary: EW has learned exclusively that a gay storyline may be in the works! From what we gather, it may involve a current cast member hooking up with someone new.

A show spokeswoman declined to comment.
Well, they should have a gay storyline. I mean, they have had: demon possessions, Hope and Roman look alikes, Sami and everything she's done for over 15 years, Stefano and his zombie-ish returns, psychics, Susan/Kristen/Sister Mary Moira/Penelope Kent, fake pregnancies, John Black (DOOL version of Wolverine), Victor Kiriakis and Dr. Marlena Evans, Melaswen and the quick pre-teen to adults growths. (And yes, I watched it all)

Yeah, it time for gay on gay action
