How are you saying that, ‘oh, I want people to accept me because I’m gay but I don’t accept you because you’re black, or because you’re white or because you’re Asian’.”

Apple, Facebook and other Companies pressure Gov. McCrory to Repeal HB2

Several companies released a letter to Gov. Pat McCrory to dismiss HB2

March 29, 2016
Office of the Governor
116 West Jones Street
Raleigh, NC 27603

Dear Governor McCrory,
We write with concerns about legislation you signed into law this week, House Bill 2, which has overturned protections for LGBT people and sanctioned discrimination across North Carolina. Put simply, HB 2 is not a bill that reflects the values of our companies, of our country, or even the overwhelming majority of North Carolinians.

We are disappointed in your decision to sign this discriminatory legislation into law. The
business community, by and large, has consistently communicated to lawmakers at every level that such laws are bad for our employees and bad for business. This is not a direction in which states move when they are seeking to provide successful, thriving hubs for business and economic development. We believe that HB 2 will make it far more challenging for businesses across the state to recruit and retain the nation’s best and brightest workers and attract the most talented students from across the country. It will also diminish the state’s draw as a destination for tourism, new businesses, and economic activity.

Discrimination is wrong, and we believe it has no place in North Carolina or anywhere in our country. As companies that pride ourselves on being inclusive and welcoming to all, we strongly urge you and the leadership of North Carolina’s legislature to repeal this law in the upcoming legislative session.

Anderson Cooper SHADES Trump Over Tweet: "That's an argument a five year old makes"

On CNN's GOP town-hall event, Anderson Cooper put Donald Trump on blast about his childish behavior over a photograph of Ted Cruz’s wife Heidi.

Ted and Trump were arguing about their wives last week and Trump posted a bad pic of Heidi on Twitter. Anderson confronted Trump about and read him like a book.

Anderson said, “Come on, you’re running for president of the United States.”

Trump spat: “Look, I didn’t start it.”

“Sir, with all due respect, that’s the argument of a five-year-old,” Cooper said. “The argument of a five-year-old is, ‘He started it’!”

“This Administration is strongly committed to advancing the cause of equality for LGBT Americans and to ensuring that they do not face discrimination simply because of who they are or who they love. Like so many others across the country, we are concerned about the potential harmful impact of this law, especially on transgender youth, and believe it is mean-spirited and sends the wrong message.”

Tony Perkins whines over Georgia

This press release tho
The devil has gone to Georgia again, but this time it was in the form of Big Business and cowardly politicians. In a staggering announcement this morning, the two-term governor of the Peach State has capitulated to big business and decided to give the government a blank check to punish Georgia’s men and women of faith. Days after a watered-down religious liberty bill sailed through both houses of the legislature, Governor Deal has decided that even the flimsiest of protections for churches are too much for Georgia’s Christians. Like Hollywood and Big Business, he thinks the state should be able to dictate what people believe — and torment those who don’t conform.

Sound familiar? It should. Any totalitarian regime operates by the same philosophy. And while the persecution takes different forms, the effect is still the same: faith-based oppression. According to Deal, a bill so weak that it wouldn’t even protect the nuns at Little Sisters of the Poor “doesn’t reflect the character of our state or the character of its people.” But apparently, open season on religious liberty does?

Now, because of his unwillingness to defend even churches, the man who said he wouldn’t allow discrimination just authorized the biggest expansion of it — against Christians. That kind of gutless capitulation may make him more popular with out-of-state activists, but it won’t fly with the state’s conservatives, who hold the keys to the next three years of Deal’s agenda.

If you’re wondering where this kind of cowardice leads, look no further than Indiana, where Governor Mike Pence’s (R) career is hanging by a political thread. Compare that to the strength of places like Houston and Mississippi, where conservatives stuck up for constitutional freedoms, instead of running from them. And guess what? The NCAA and NFL threats turned out to be empty ones. Unlike Pence, Deal won’t have to face voters again — but he will have to face himself years from now when he comes to the realization that he did nothing to protect innocent Georgians from the heavy hand of government.

Although the legislative session ended Friday, Republicans are already floating the possibility of a special session to override Deal’s veto. Contact your leaders in Georgia and urge them to do exactly that. If the governor won’t protect churches, the legislature must.

My Vague Review of Batman v Superman

So I was lucky to see Batman the Superman before most people this past week. A friend cashed in a favor, and I got to watch the film with a bunch of press. There was a lot going on and the audience was all over the place, for example: people laughing, people yawning, people sighing.

The film was a huge clusterfuck of ideas, dreams and action sequences.

However, it's been a while since I gave a vague review of a movie, so here it goes:

  • In the beginning, we go back to the first Superman movie where Bruce Wayne was trying to get back to his company. For some odd reason, his employees was waiting on him to tell them to leave the building when the city was under attack. Why are they waiting for Bruce Wayne to tell them to leave?
  • For two years, Bruce Wayne was mad at Superman over the fight in the city due to the destruction. But throughout the film, Batman cause a lot of destruction for no reason. It felt like he wasn't aware that he was doing the same thing.
  • There were a lot of dream sequences in this film. At one point I felt like I was watching A Nightmare on Elm Street.
  • Again, it's been two years since the first movie of this cinematic universe. Clark still struggles with being a hero, which is odd that he is still struggling with this at all.
  • There were a few racial scenes that rubbed me the wrong way. For example, when Superman saves a Mexican girl, The people reached out to him like he was a God. It felt like a white Savior scene.
  • Lex Luthor was too much in this movie. He was more of the Joker than a Luthor.
  • Why did Batman make a spear? A kryptonite spear… Makes no sense at all.
  • It was great to see you wonder woman, however I struggle with what she was doing the entire time throughout the movie. She ran around in pretty dresses looking for a picture. She was doing that most of the time.
  • Batman apparently it was a crimefighter for 20 years. However no one else talked about this except Alfred. It felt like no one knew about him at all.
  • Batman came off very stupid, which is a shock because he's one of the greatest detectives ever. How could he not figure out most of the issues happening around him?
  • Why couldn't Batman just Google "White Portuguese"?
  • Wonder Woman was the best part of the film! I really enjoy watching her fight and enjoy the battle.
  • If Lex uses his DNA on a dead kryptonian and create a monster... What happens when Clark and Lois have sex and have a child?
  • There is a large instruction in this film for no reason. It was like they've learned nothing from the first film.
  • The movie was way too long. I found myself thinking about other things than the plot of this movie, which was also another issue as well.
  • Sadly, Batman V superman did not excite me for the rest of the DC cinematic universe.

If you are a fan go see the movie. If you're not a fan, I think you still should see the movie. However it was a bit messy with story pieces I'd never came together. Hopefully, in the next installment of this series they will get it right.

DNC's Statement on North Carolina's Hate Bill

Upon news that North Carolina Republican Governor Pat McCrory will sign a discriminatory anti-LGBT bill into law tonight, the Democratic National Committee has released the following statement.

When the Charlotte city council expanded protections for transgender people with a new ordinance last month, Republicans in the North Carolina state legislature were so disgusted that they announced they would take the unusual step of convening a special session today in order to block it.

But for one of the most extreme legislatures in the country, dragging one city backwards wasn’t enough. Instead of destroying just one progressive ordinance in one city, the legislation they passed in today’s special session blocks all LGBT non-discrimination ordinances passed by any local government across the entire state, and protects businesses that discriminate based on sexual orientation and gender identity. But they didn’t stop there. State lawmakers took the opportunity to overreach even more by forbidding North Carolina cities from raising the minimum wage with living wage ordinances.

“This is sadly unsurprising from a party that seems determined to stay stuck in the Stone Age on LGBT equality. From their refusal to accept marriage equality as the law of the land, to their disingenuous ‘free speech’ and ‘religious freedom’ justifications for discrimination, Republicans are hurting Americans who deserve the full and equal protection of the law. Now the same state lawmakers who pretend to love limited government are steamrolling over local officials just because they had the courage to stand up for transgender rights. Our friends in the LGBT community deserve better and so do all the people of North Carolina,” said DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

“While Republicans in DC refuse to do their job in confirming a Supreme Court justice, Republicans in North Carolina are calling a special session to repeal every local non-discrimination law protecting the LGBT community across the entire state. They’d rather spend the taxpayer’s money to take away the rights of North Carolina’s citizens than deal with the massive cuts to education they have also forced on families,” said Earl Fowlkes, chair of the LGBT Caucus of the Democratic National Committee.

“What we’re seeing here is a more extreme version of the radical ‘Right to Discriminate’ laws that have failed in other states like Indiana. Rather than requiring a ‘religious objection’ to discriminate, which is already bad enough, this wholesale repeal of all municipal non-discrimination laws in the entire state is a new low. This proposed bill gives businesses, like hotels and restaurants, a license to discriminate against gay and transgender people with total impunity. And that is simply wrong,” said Ryan Butler, chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party’s LGBT Caucus.

This follows recent actions in Republican controlled legislatures in Georgia, Kentucky, and Missouri to pass Indiana-style 'Right to Discriminate’ laws that would permit businesses and others to discriminate against LGBT people.

Disney will Boycott Georgia if the Anti-Gay RFRA becomes Law

The Walt Disney Co. and Marvel Studios is coming for Georgia!

“Disney and Marvel are inclusive companies, and although we have had great experiences filming in Georgia, we will plan to take our business elsewhere should any legislation allowing discriminatory practices be signed into state law,” said a Disney spokesman today over a bill that the Georgia legislature has passed. House Bill 757 would permit faith-based groups and organizations in the state to discriminate based on sexuality.

In Tennessee: Anti-Trans Bill dies

My homestate of Tennessee made me proud yesterday.

Lawmakers dropped HB 2414, the heinous bill that was an attack on Trans teens.

Members of the House Education Administration & Planning Committee voted to push this bill forward, but after meeting with trans students they had a change of heart.

Now, about that bill. HB 2414 would've required that students prove that their anatomy matches that of their birth certificate as a condition of using the restroom. How? Well, there was no real plan on how to do that, so it was not a well thought out plan.

Freedom For All Americans Executive Director Matt McTighe had this to say about the win:
“Today’s decision by Tennessee lawmakers is a victory for the dignity and equal treatment of all children in the state. House Bill 2414 would have endangered the personal safety of all children, particularly transgender youth; and codified discrimination in public schools. No child should fear being singled out or humiliated when they are trying to get an education. Tennessee did the right thing in defeating this harmful legislation, and other states should follow its lead.”
This is a great victory for Tennessee

Elizabeth Warren comes for Donald Trump AGAIN!

This time from her Facebook page
Let’s be honest – Donald Trump is a loser. Count all his failed businesses. See how he kept his father’s empire afloat by cheating people with scams like Trump University and by using strategic corporate bankruptcy (excuse me, bankruptcies) to skip out on debt. Listen to the experts who’ve concluded he’s so bad at business that he might have more money today if he’d put his entire inheritance into an index fund and just left it alone.

Trump seems to know he’s a loser. His embarrassing insecurities are on parade: petty bullying, attacks on women, cheap racism, and flagrant narcissism. But just because Trump is a loser everywhere else doesn’t mean he’ll lose this election. People have been underestimating his campaign for nearly a year – and it’s time to wake up.
People talk about how "this is the most important election" in our lifetime every four years, and it gets stale. But consider what hangs in the balance. Affordable college. Accountability for Wall Street. Healthcare for millions of Americans. The Supreme Court. Big corporations and billionaires paying their fair share of taxes. Expanded Social Security. Investments in infrastructure and medical research and jobs right here in America. The chance to turn our back on the ugliness of hatred, sexism, racism and xenophobia. The chance to be a better people.

More than anyone we’ve seen before come within reach of the presidency, Donald Trump stands ready to tear apart an America that was built on values like decency, community, and concern for our neighbors. Many of history’s worst authoritarians started out as losers – and Trump is a serious threat. The way I see it, it’s our job to make sure he ends this campaign every bit the loser that he started it.

“In unusually candid remarks, President Obama privately told a group of Democratic donors last Friday that Senator Bernie Sanders is nearing the point where his campaign against Hillary Clinton will come to an end, and that the party must soon come together to back her. Mr. Obama acknowledged that Mrs. Clinton is perceived to have weaknesses as a candidate, and that some Democrats did not view her as authentic. But he played down the importance of authenticity.”

Elijah Cummings READS Michigan Governor Snyder during the Flint Water Contamination Hearing

This is a read, folks

In this video Cummings let Gov. Snyder have it!
Rep. Elijah Cummings suggested that Republicans were “desperately” trying to blame the crisis on the federal Environmental Protection Agency. “I agree that EPA should have done more, they should have rescued the people of Flint from Gov. Snyder’s vindictive administration and its utter incompetence at every level,” Cummings said. Cummings suggested that if Snyder had been the CEO of a children’s toy company that sold toys with lead “he would be hauled up on criminal charges.” “The board of directors would throw him out and shareholders would revolt,” Cummings said. Snyder, in his opening remarks, outlined steps the state is taking to address the man-made disaster and highlighted ongoing probes of the Michigan environmental quality and health departments. “We are taking responsibility and taking action in Michigan, and that is absolutely essential here in Washington, too. Inefficient, ineffective, and unaccountable bureaucrats at the EPA allowed this disaster to continue unnecessarily,” he said.

President Obama nominates Merrick Garland to Supreme Court

Sad that it wasn't a person of color, but Garland comes with good remarks. What do you think?

Question of the Day

The Bern burning out?

Today, President Obama will Announce his Supreme Court Nominee

Today at 11am Eastern time, President Obama will announce his nominee for the Supreme Court.

Obama sent an email, discussing his choice, as well as, preparing for a showdown with the GOP on this pick.
"I’m confident you’ll share my conviction that this American is not only eminently qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice, but deserves a fair hearing, and an up-or-down vote. In putting forward a nominee today, I am fulfilling my constitutional duty. I’m doing my job. I hope that our Senators will do their jobs, and move quickly to consider my nominee. That is what the Constitution dictates, and that’s what the American people expect and deserve from their leaders."
Obama laid out three principles that he said guided his choice.

First, that a justice "should possess an independent mind, unimpeachable credentials, and an unquestionable mastery of law."
Second, that he or she "should recognize the limits of the judiciary's role."
And third, that his choice have "a keen understanding that justice is not about abstract legal theory, nor some footnote in a dusty casebook."
"It’s the kind of life experience earned outside the classroom and the courtroom," he elaborated, "experience that suggests he or she views the law not only as an intellectual exercise, but also grasps the way it affects the daily reality of people’s lives in a big, complicated democracy, and in rapidly-changing times."
Let/s see how the GOP responds to his nominee

In Alabama: Senate votes to eliminate marriage licenses

Alabama is a mess!

The Alabama Senate voted to stop giving out state-issued marriage licenses all together. What? The vote was 23-3, and if legal, folks will have to file a form recording their marriage rather than the county probate offices giving them licenses.

I don't know why they think this is necessary. It seems for problematic than anything. But these fools can't accept that marriage equality is real. Looking at this make you realize that they will do anything to avoid following the law of the land

Will Bernie Run as an Independent

People are wondering if Bernie would go independent. I'm sure his folks would LOVE that, but sadly he's not going there.

Bernie confirmed his stance with Chuck Todd on Monday. He said:
"To run as an independent, you need — you could be a billionaire," he said. "If you're a billionaire, you can do that. I'm not a billionaire. So the structure of American politics today is such that I thought the right ethic was to run within the Democratic Party."
He's right, it comes down to money and support. Without the Dems' support, Bernie would toast. He doesn't have a Super PAC, let alone visible members in Congress out here fighting for him. Using the Dems is his best bet, and so far, it's not paying off.

Death Row Music Artist comes out and Hopes Sons are not Gay

You may not know who Danny Boy is. That's okay, I don't either but his story is quite compelling.

He was a musical artist on Death Row records, singing hooks in 2pac’s “I Ain’t Mad at Cha” and “Picture Me Rollin.” He's been quiet until now... Danny Boy is gay.

Please watch this video as he explains his story

In Kentucky: GOP Controlled Senate pass an Anti-Gay Bill

Today, Kentucky senate debated to bring a RFRA to the Bluegrass state. After their discussion, the senate members approved Senate Bill 180 which is an Anti-gay bill. If passed, Senate Bill 180 will allow businesses to discriminate against LGBT people due to their religious beliefs.

This bill is garbage, basically. It will hurt economic development and nobody has the time to figure out if any business supports God, Witches or Zuul. This bill is going to the Democratic-controlled House. At least there it will go down in flames... I hope.

Super Tuesday Showdown

It's going down in Ohio, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, and Missouri today. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out!

Any predictions?

Ben Carson Endorsed Trump to be in his Administration - VIDEO

Interesting Quote: Aaron Carter

I support Donald Trump. I don’t support every little thing. Trump goes his own way. He’s a leader, not a follower, and he’s proven that by humbling the other campaigns. I think in regards to him becoming president, well, the electoral college will be the decider.

Trans Woman named White House's Top Liaison to the LGBT community

Congrats to Raffi Freedman-Gurspan. The White House just named her the executive branch’s top liaison to the LGBT community! She is also trans, making history in this role.

As a top liaison, Raffi will be working with all of the major LGBT groups, connecting them to the White House. Hell, I want to do that. It's sounds sublime.

Good luck, Raffi

Students Vandalize College Chapel with Anti-Gay, Racist Slurs and Donald Trump's Name

New foolishness from Trump's supporters.

At Northwestern University, Anthony Morales, 19 and Matthew Kafker, 18 thought it would be cute to vandalized the Alice Millar Chapel. These students entered the chapel and spray-painted hateful stuff that was anti-gay, anti-black and anti-Muslim. They also added a swastika, a bunch of cocks and Donald Trump's name.

These idiots are being held on $50,000 bail for the act. They are being charged with criminal damage to property, institutional vandalism and hate crime in a place of worship.

Glad they got caught

Joel Osteen says Trump Is An Incredible Communicator & A Good Man? Girl, Bye

False prophet Joel Osteen has the nerve to praise Trump on the Fox News radio show today. How can you as 'mega-christian' support and champion Donald Trump?

I mean, this... You know what, we shouldn't be surprised. They are connected through greed and narcissism. They are basically f**k buddies in my eyes. Any pastor or religious figure supporting him is doing it for some sense of fame and money. I can't think of any other reason why they would crap all over their faith like that.

Michelle Fields and Ben Shapiro resign from the Breitbart website

Oooh there's drama going on at the Breitbart website tonight, well it's morning now, but you know what I mean.

Contributors, Michelle Fields and witch boy, Ben Shapiro resigned from the site due to this whole alleged assault from Donald Trump campaign manager.

Apparently, Michelle was assaulted by Trump's campaign manager last week. Michelle talked about this issue all over social media, but the site's chairman Steve Bannon didn't take the incident seriously. You see, he's a Trump's supported and they feel he sold them out.

Ben released a statement explaining the entire incident.
As a close personal friend and mentee of Andrew Breitbart’s, it saddens me tremendously to announce that as of 9:00 p.m. Pacific Time, I have resigned from Breitbart News as editor-at-large. I met Andrew Breitbart when I was seventeen years old and remained his friend until his tragic death; I signed on with Breitbart News two weeks before Andrew’s death because I believed in his mission.

I am proud of what we accomplished in the years following his death, fighting back against the leftist media and debunking the left’s key narratives. I have many good friends at Breitbart News, including editor-in-chief Alex Marlow and editor-at-large John Nolte, and I admire CEO Larry Solov for his dedication to ensuring a financial future for Andrew’s widow, Susie, and his four children.

Andrew built his life and his career on one mission: fight the bullies. But Andrew’s life mission has been betrayed. Indeed, Breitbart News, under the chairmanship of Steve Bannon, has put a stake through the heart of Andrew’s legacy. In my opinion, Steve Bannon is a bully, and has sold out Andrew’s mission in order to back another bully, Donald Trump; he has shaped the company into Trump’s personal Pravda, to the extent that he abandoned and undercut his own reporter, Breitbart News’ Michelle Fields, in order to protect Trump’s bully campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who allegedly assaulted Michelle. I spoke with Michelle the night after the incident. She told me her story. That story was backed by audiotape, eyewitness testimony from The Washington Post’s Ben Terris, physical bruises, and video tape.

Both Lewandowski and Trump maligned Michelle in the most repulsive fashion. Meanwhile, Breitbart News not only stood by and did nothing outside of tepidly asking for an apology, they then attempted to abandon Michelle by silencing staff from tweeting or talking about the issue. Finally, in the ultimate indignity, they undermined Michelle completely by running a poorly-evidenced conspiracy theory as their lead story in which Michelle and Terris had somehow misidentified Lewandowski.

This is disgusting. Andrew never would have stood for it. No news outlet would stand for it.

Nobody should.

This truly breaks my heart. But, as I am fond of saying, facts don’t care about your feelings, and the facts are undeniable: Breitbart News has become precisely the reverse of what Andrew would have wanted. Steve Bannon and those who follow his lead should be ashamed of themselves.
This is so juicy!

Gay College Basketball Player makes History

College basketball player Derrick Gordon made history as the first openly gay player to make it to the Men’s Division I NCAA Basketball Tournament.

Derrick plays for Seton Hall University. He's been open and out since his time there. It's neat to see him prosper without feeling a lot of hate or bigotry. I'm glad he's staying strong and winning.

Chuck Todd grills Donald Trump On "Meet The Press" - WATCH

Interesting Quote: Marco Rubio

I know people are angry. I know people are frustrated. But leadership is not about making people even angrier and even more frustrated and asking them to give you power so you can go after another group that you want to blame for people’s anger and frustration.

Real leadership is recognizing people are angry, recognizing people are frustrated, and then showing them a way forward that gives them hope and a belief that we can make things better. That’s real leadership.
