This is Real - Bacon Flavored Condoms

Here's the description
J &D's Foods, a Seattle company that also makes bacon lubricant -- which "began as an elaborate April Fool's prank and was never intended to be a real product" but nonetheless persists out of sheer novelty -- has topped itself by offering a pork-flavored prophylactic.
Don't worry, though: Bacon condoms only appear to "make your meat look like meat." The condoms are made of latex, and come coated with the company's special brand of water-based lube.
And lube? Child, they are changing the game.

READ NOM's Marriage Petition to the Supreme Court

NOM is not giving up, folks.

They have a petition to send to the Supreme Court, please read:
I Proudly Stand for Marriage

To The Justices of the United States Supreme Court

I proudly STAND FOR MARRIAGE because:

It is the unique and special union of one man and one woman, uniting husband and wife to each other and to their children;

It is the fundamental unit of our nation and culture, the primary building block upon which every society is founded;

It is the healthiest and best environment for children to be raised in,because every child has the right to both a mother and a father;

I therefore SUPPORT:

The rights of citizens and communities to organize, speak, donate and otherwise act on its behalf;

The rights of voters, including the more than 50 million Americans in three dozen states that have cast ballots in support of marriage;

The religious liberties of all Americans, including persons of faith and their faith communities to defend, protect, and promote it;

The preservation of marriage in law and in culture for the good of men, women, children, and society at large.

I firmly PLEDGE my unwavering commitment to continue defending marriage, whenever and wherever it is threatened, in whatever ways I have the means to do, along with men and women of good will of every race and creed, with God and history on our side.

And I CALL on the United States Supreme Court to exercise judicial restraint, resist the call of political activists to legislate from the bench, and respect the right of the people of America to decide this issue themselves within the democratic process.
They are hoping to present a number of signatures to the Supremes before they make their final decision.

Basically, they are scared sh*tless.

Dan Choi found Guilty, Avoids Prison

Dan Choi was in court yesterday over his 2010 protest at the White House. He was found guilty, and fined $100. However, what's making news is his behavior in court.

The Washington Post reports:
But in court on Thursday, Choi’s erratic demeanor swung from emotional outbursts at the lectern to belligerent confrontations with a U.S. Park Police officer and the federal prosecutor. Dressed in a military uniform, Choi paced the courtroom, serving as his own lawyer.
“All I want at the end of this day is to return to the U.S. military,” Choi said through tears.
Choi, who is not trained as an attorney, alternated between whispered apologies for his teary breakdowns and loud rebukes of Assistant U.S. Attorney Angela George for failing to refer to him as a lieutenant.
“Please remember where you are,” Magistrate Judge John M. Facciola cautioned after Choi used vulgar slang. “That may be appropriate in the barracks. It’s not appropriate here.”
This is not surprise to some of us who remembers Dan's behavior a couple of years ago. With this incident added to his erratic history, I wonder if we should be concerned about his mental health.

Tea Party Favorite compares us to NAMBLA - WATCH

This fool right here is an outright mess

Watch him compare us to NAMBLA

He said:
Well, my thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It's a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality. It doesn't matter what they are. They don't get to change the definition. So he, it's not something that is against gays, it's against anybody who wants to come along and change the fundamental definitions of pillars of society. It has significant ramifications.
And yes, he's a Tea Bagger

Want List: Wonder Woman- Themed KIA Sportage’ Edition

This is amazing! KIA has designed a car that is basically a Wonder Woman vehicle!

Here's a description
Built for charity in collaboration with DC Entertainment and Super Street magazine, the Wonder Woman Sportage adds an aero kit, and is finished in a red and blue paint scheme accented with silver stars, much like the heroine’s outfit. The gold trim on parts of the CUV represent Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth, while the Tiger Nose grille wears the Wonder Woman’s eagle chest-plate emblem. Blue headlight beams mirror her blue eyes, and the windshield is topped off with a tiara sticker. Chrome side panels represent her invisible jet, and the five-spoke wheels match the stars stamped on the side of the Sportage.
Open up the doors, and red upholstery is highlighted with blue LED accent lighting. The custom seats are embroidered with her logo, and the rear cargo area is decorated with stars and an eagle, along with a see-through panel that displays Wonder Woman’s bracelets, tiara, and her golden lasso.
If I would've known this was available, I would have aggressively went after this car.

NOM's Brian Brown compares Anti-Gay Hate March to the Civil Rights Movement

Yesterday, Brian Brown had the nerve, the nerve to compare their hate rally to the civil rights movement. No joke folks, that bastard said that.

The words:
We were hoping for 5,000 people and we ended up with over 10,000. We filled the whole area in front of the court when we marched. It was a diverse coalition, we had African American leaders, Hispanic leaders, State Sen. Ruben Diaz brought 30 buses from the Bronx; it was just amazing. What I was most happy about, we talked about this before the rally, the way everyone conducted themselves. We were chanting, we were united but when folks tried to get in our way, there were some gay marriage protesters who tried to get in front of the march and stop us even though we had a permit, everyone just knelt down and started praying. I was not alive during the Civil Rights Movement but this is what it must have felt like, people were just so ecstatic to stand up and they did it in a loving, respectful way but they weren’t going to be silenced. I couldn’t be more happy with what happened today, I think it’s a huge step forward for the pro-marriage movement and I don’t think it’s going to be lost on the Supreme Court justices that we were there and we were there in force.
Brian, there are big differences between the two.
  • In the CRM, folks were marching for their right to be humans, equal and treated like American citizens. What you and your fools are marching for is the right to discriminate and hate.
  • In the CRM, people were dying and fights for their rights, you and your fools are trying to take rights away.
  • The CRM supported equality, you are supporting bigotry.
  • Brian, you are representing the past, the CRM was representing the future.
It is a mockery and an insult for Brian to compare the two. I hope he thinks about what he said and maybe in the future, takes this foolish belief back.

Beginning the Final Season in my Career

I have decided that the upcoming year will be my final year in Residence Life. I have been in this field for 17 years and to be real, that's enough.

It's been a fun ride from the days as a RA in Murray, KY, to the professional Hall Director days at Cornell in Ithaca, NY and messy year at Arizona State. It's been a big piece of my life and who I am, but it's time.

This upcoming year will be a challenging one because I will be shutting the door to everything I have been used to. Most of you know that I want to get into the Entertainment world, so at 40 (in 2014) I will be starting completely over.

I'm already scared about it. I've seen peers and friends struggle to get their lives in order in Los Angeles, but I'm hoping for a miracle. Thank goodness I have more than a year to get it together, trust, I need this year.

However, I'm not too worried. I follow the notion of 'Can't stop, Won't stop, Never stop'. It's gotten me this far, so I know I'll make it through.

Interesting Quote: Bishop Harry Jackson

God has given us a blueprint for how to have success in the earthly realm. He’s given us an architectural plan of how to heal the barren places in urban America. He says that marriage between a man and a woman will heal the desert places in urban America. Ghettos will be revitalized if one man, one woman families are the order of the day. When a man and a woman are in the house, poverty is lessened. When a man and a woman are in the house, kids don’t go to prison. When a man and a woman are in the house, there’s less domestic violence. When a man and a woman are in the house, sexual abuse does not happen.
So sexual abuse doesn't happen in Straight families? Somebody call a doctor, because Harry is crazy.

Recap and Analysis of the Prop 8 Oral Argument

From the SCOTUS Blog here is the analysis of what went down:
Much will be written about the Proposition 8 oral argument. The bottom line, in my opinion, is that the Court probably will not have the five votes necessary to get to any result at all, and almost certainly will not have five votes to decide the merits of whether Proposition 8 is constitutional.
Several Justices seriously doubt whether the petitioners defending Proposition 8 have “standing” to appeal the district court ruling invalidating the measure. These likely include not only more liberal members but also the Chief Justice. If standing is lacking, the Court would vacate the Ninth Circuit’s decision.
The Justices seem divided on the constitutionality of Proposition 8 on ideological lines, four to four – i.e., all the members other than Justice Kennedy. For the more liberal members of the Court, there was no clarity on how broadly they would rule.
But Justice Kennedy seemed very unlikely to provide either side with the fifth vote needed to prevail. He was deeply concerned with the wisdom of acting now when in his view the social science of the effects of same-sex marriage is uncertain because it is so new. He also noted the doubts about the petitioners’ standing. So his suggestion was that the case should be dismissed.
If those features of the oral argument hold up – and I think they will – then the Court’s ruling will take one of two forms. First, a majority (the Chief Justice plus the liberal members of the Court) could decide that the petitioners lack standing. That would vacate the Ninth Circuit’s decision but leave in place the district court decision invalidating Proposition 8. Another case with different petitioners (perhaps a government official who did not want to administer a same-sex marriage) could come to the Supreme Court within two to three years, if the Justices were willing to hear it.
Second, the Court may dismiss the case because of an inability to reach a majority. Justice Kennedy takes that view, and Justice Sotomayor indicated that she might join him. Others on the left may agree. That ruling would leave in place the Ninth Circuit’s decision.
So for now Prop 8 is invalid. More to come

Michele Bachmann's Presidential Campaign under Ethics Investigation

Rep. Michele Bachmann is in trouble! She is under investigation by the Office of Congressional Ethics for alleged misuse of campaign funds, I guess Marcus' Manhunt account has been found out.

Here's the scoop:
“There are no allegations that the Congresswoman engaged in any wrongdoing,” said her attorney, William McGinley of Patton Boggs. “We are constructively engaged with the OCE and are confident that at the end of their Review the OCE Board will conclude that Congresswoman Bachmann did not do anything inappropriate.”

The probe was first reported by the Daily Beast. An OCE investigation is a preliminary probe; the office can either dismiss a case or recommend a full House Ethics Committee investigation. The OCE is a non-partisan, independent entity governed by an eight-person board made up of private citizens chosen by the House Speaker and minority leader. There is a 30-day preliminary review; if members decide there is reasonable cause to believe the allegations, a 45-day further review follows. Four members can vote to refer a matter to the Ethics Committee, and four members can vote to terminate a probe. The office does not have subpoena power.

Peter Waldron, who served as Bachmann’s national field coordinator in the 2012 presidential race, has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging that the lawmaker’s campaign improperly used leadership PAC funds to pay presidential campaign staff. Consultant Guy Short, he alleges, was paid with MichelePAC funds. He also charges that payments to Bachmann’s Iowa campaign chairman, state Sen. Kent Sorenson, were concealed due to ethics rules that bar legislators from being employed by campaigns. Both Bachmann and Sorenson have denied those allegations.
I hope she's caught.

A Quick Run Through of My Life

For those who don't know me
_____________________________________________________________

When people ask, “What made you become the person you are today?” you never know what to expect. You may hear a story about overcoming great odds or how losing weight at 45 opened the door to infinite possibilities. The foundation of who we are can be inspiring and dauntless. Too bad the prodigious contributions that shaped my life are based from a bunch of trivial mistakes, bad films and the hope of being the next Lisa Bonet.

WHO IS THIS?
My father named me Victor, because his middle name was King. I guess he wanted me to be some ruler or conqueror. So far, I’ve conquered some of my credit card debt, the California driver’s test, and my fear of cats.

I am a 39 year-old African-American guy with hint of a Napoleon complex.  I spell my name with a ‘k’, but in reality, it’s spelled with a ‘c’. I thought it would make me above average. I’m the youngest kid on my father’s side and the oldest kid on my mother’s. As a baby, I had to have surgery to live. So, I was considered a miracle child and I milked for what it was worth for most of my pre-teen life. Till this day, some of my cousins still have issues with me.

I was born and raised in Tennessee; Union City, Tennessee to be exact. It was the home of the American spirit: family values, unwed pregnancies, and football. My town was a safe haven to say the least; the only thing that would attack you in an alley was a stray dog. I was partly raised by my grandmother who hated white people; however her favorite celebrity was Kenny Rogers.

THE SWEET VALLEY HIGH YEARS
I was the oddball that gained popularity through obscurity. I didn’t fall into the generic category of a Black teenaged kid. I loved all types of music; my style was loosely based from The Cosby Show and re-runs of Laugh-In, and my vernacular came from V.C. Andrews’ books and X-Men comics.

I had a good home life, but I was bored and deeply confused about my sexuality. I knew I liked boys, but I had no idea that anyone like me existed, so I kept my secret life hidden in endless journal entries and poorly drawn comic strips.

Like many high school kids, I applied to college, but unlike many high school kids, I did it because I was in love with my best friend. The thought of us being roommates and possible lovers was all I needed to fill out the college application. Sadly, that dream died once he learned that a one-night stand made him a life-time father. By the time the first semester was done, he moved back home and I stayed, making the best of my love sick decision.

YOU’RE GONNA MAKE IT AFTER ALL
After college in Kentucky, two of my good friends and I moved to New York City. We thought we had nothing lose, and with our newly minted degrees the sky was the limit. But my credit card reached its limit, forcing me to join a temp agency. I was working for a Turkish watchmaker, answering phones and checking his email. It was far from glamorous life, but it kept me from going broke in the city.

A month later, I got a job as a Resident Hall Director at Cornell University. I didn't want to leave my friends or the city, however I needed to get my life in order. So, I packed up the U-Haul headed to the lost universe known as Ithaca, New York. I call it the lost universe because where else are you going to find the resting home of old hippies and the staunch Bush supporters living in the most Libertarian town in the American. Believe it or not, it was great little place to call home for five years.

My time at Cornell kicked off my accidental career in Student Affairs in Higher Education.  I’ve worked at Arizona, Georgia and now, here at USC as the Assistant Director of Student Development and Leadership for Residential Education. I work with many students and to be honest, I do worry about our future.  These students want to take over the world, and yet they still need their parents to hold their hands. It's never a dull day in my office with  irate parents, mental health issues, manic peers, manic administrators and a office computer  that still uses Word '98. I do my best to keep the students out of rehab or jail.  I guess in the big scheme of things I’m saving our future one ADD millennial at a time.

So that's me, just a small town guy who tripped over many potholes to get into a decent place in his life.

It was Very Traumatizing for Bryan Singer to leave X-Men 3

It was hard for Bryan Singer to leave X-Men 3 (and we paid for his departure). In fact, it was really hard for him to walk away. He told Total Film the story:
“I’ve never told anybody this,” he begins, “but I found the whole letting go of the characters for X-Men 3 so traumatizing that a friend, who shall remain nameless, had to take me to a secret location and show me the reels so far, just so I could make my peace with it.”
I hope he makes it up for us in the new X-Men film.

NOM's Brian Brown: If We Lose, We'll push for a Federal Marriage Amendment

This is ridic and almost insane.

Brian Brown claims he and his merry band of bigots will try to add a Federal Marriage Amendment to the constitution if the courts side with us.
I think we’re going to win these cases. But say the worst happens and we lose in a broad way – that means that the Court somehow does a Roe, a Roe v. Wade, on marriage and says that all these state constitutional amendments are overturned, gay marriage is now a constitutional right – well, we’re going to press forward on a Federal Marriage Amendment. We’ve always supported a Federal Marriage Amendment, and there’s a lot of misconceptions about it. Some people try and argue, ‘Well, this is against federalism.’ No, our founders gave us a system where we can amend the Constitution. We shouldn’t have to do this, we shouldn’t have to worry about activist judges, you know, making up out of thin air a constitutional right that obviously none of our founders found there and no one found there until quite recently. But if we do, for us, the Federal Marriage Amendment is a way that people can stand up and say, ‘Enough is enough.’ We need a solution in this country, we cannot be, as Lincoln said, half slave, half free. We can’t have a country on key moral questions where we’re just, where we don’t have a solution. And if the Court forces a solution, the way we’ll amend that is through the Federal Marriage Amendment.
And what's this half-free, half-slave mess? Brian, have a seat please.

R.I.P. to a Gay Comedian... Scott Kennedy

Last week, a gay comedian died in his sleep. Scott Kennedy was funny guy that didn't need to overdress to prove he was gay.

He was an every man's gay. Something you don't see in the gay media or on TV. I just learned of his death yesterday, too bad none of the gay websites talked about him. I guess he wasn't cute enough or in a jockstrap.

Too bad, right? Luckily, Dave Holmes wrote a great piece about him in HuffPo.
Scott Kennedy was a brilliant comic who had all the trappings of success: a Comedy Central special, late-night appearances, a busy road schedule. But just as his career began to heat up, so did our military involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq. So he put his stateside career on the back burner to entertain the troops through several USO tours. Then he organized his own touring show, Comics Ready to Entertain, because -- get this -- the USO wouldn't take him to dangerous-enough military bases. Over the course of more than 50 trips to Afghanistan and Iraq, in up to five shows a day, he gave our men and women overseas a bit of the love they sorely needed. "You have to give them a little bit of home," Scott said at the time. "They have to feel normal once in a while."

Through most of his career, Scott Kennedy was also an openly gay comedian. With his ever-present football jersey, tattered ball cap and spare tire, he didn't look the part, and he used that to his advantage; when he addressed his sexuality onstage, it was usually toward the end of his set, after a new audience thought they had him figured out. Scott defied expectations and broadened minds. He was an out gay comedian in a time when it was not at all easy to be an out gay comedian, and often in places where it was not at all easy to be an out gay comedian, for example in Iraq and Afghanistan, or in front of our troops at the height of "don't ask, don't tell," or, hell, in a comedy club.
Please read the rest of this piece.

Rest in Peace, Scott.

Happy 80th Birthday to King Kong

Which version did you like?

Interesting Quote: Sen. Claire McCaskill

The question of marriage equality is a great American debate. Many people, some with strong religious faith, believe that marriage can only exist between a man and a woman. Other people, many of whom also have strong religious faith, believe that our country should not limit the commitment of marriage to some, but rather all Americans, gay and straight should be allowed to fully participate in the most basic of family values.

I have come to the conclusion that our government should not limit the right to marry based on who you love. While churches should never be required to conduct marriages outside of their religious beliefs, neither should the government tell people who they have a right to marry.

My views on this subject have changed over time, but as many of my gay and lesbian friends, colleagues and staff embrace long term committed relationships, I find myself unable to look them in the eye without honestly confronting this uncomfortable inequality. Supporting marriage equality for gay and lesbian couples is simply the right thing to do for our country, a country founded on the principals of liberty and equality.

Good people disagree with me. On the other hand, my children have a hard time understanding why this is even controversial. I think history will agree with my children.

Meningitis Outbreak continues to get Worse in NYC

Hey, NYC fam... Be careful.
A deadly meningitis outbreak among gay men in New York City just got more serious, officials said today. Two men died of meningitis during the first two months of the year, raising the total number of cases to 22, with 3 of the last 5 cases resulting in death. The city's Department of Health upgraded its response to recommend vaccinations for all gay men throughout the city, regardless of HIV status and geographical location.
This started in September and it seems to be getting worse. The city suggest that guys get the recommended vaccines if they engaged in any sex party after Sept. 1.

Also it has been noted that sexually active guys from the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brownsville, Bushwick, Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Dumbo, East New York, Prospect Heights and Williamsburg should get tested.

Interesting Quote: Amy Pascal

How many times have you heard a character imply to another that the worst thing about going to prison isn’t being locked up for the rest of your life, it’s the homosexuality? And old stereotypes still exist. The most benign stereotypes would have a gay kid believe that they will end up being the asexual, witty best friend of the pretty girl, or a drag queen, or a swishy hairdresser. The list goes on.

Of course, there are great images, too, like the family in The Kids Are All Right. The way the boy in Perks of Being a Wallflower and the middle-aged man in Hotel Marigold and the 75-year-old man in Beginners come out to a better, richer, more fulfilled life. It’s treated as a celebration.

And real credit has to be given to the filmmakers of ParaNorman, Chris Butler and Sam Fell, who had the first gay character in an animated movie, and he was the football hunk and it was totally incidental to the plot.

Now it’s time for all of us to take that step. Not every gay character needs to be defined by his or her sexuality. Can’t being gay just be one stitch in the fabric of someone’s life? Can’t we depict men and women who just so happen to be gay – perhaps a lawyer or soldier or business executive or scientist or engineer…

We need to create an atmosphere that encourages people to speak up, so we get this right.

How about next time, when any of us are reading a script and it says words like fag, or faggot – homo – dyke – take a pencil and just cross it out. Just don’t do it.

In Three Days...

This could be historic

Anderson and Grumpy Cat

Interesting Quote: Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz

You should know that the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) has always been in the forefront, throughout the nation, in the struggle to stop same sex marriage. It is also a fact that for many years, NOM has been raising funds, and coordinating every march and demonstration in the state of New York and everywhere else.

You should remember that when Governor Andrew Cuomo used his office and staff to raise money and to orchestrate the passing of gay marriage in the State, it was the National Organization for Marriage among others, who took the fight on their shoulders. With their help, we organized different rallies and demonstrations where thousands of people came together, in front of Governor Cuomo’s office in Manhattan, On the steps of the Supreme court of Bronx County and in many other places.

Now, One more time, NOM is giving us the opportunity to join people from all over the nation, in what could be our last opportunity to deal with same sex marriage once and for all. Due to the fact, and you should know, that with the ruling of the United States Supreme Court, same sex marriage will be legal or illegal in every state in the nation, including Puerto Rico and any other colony of the United States.

Interesting Quote: Joe the Plumber

30 years ago we use to play a game called “smear the queer;” a game where whoever had the football got gang tackled. It was a normal. If you had the ball, you were the queer, because no one else had the ball, and having the ball made you odd or “queer” in that respect. Of course, you could throw the ball to another player and the pack would quickly turn to smear that queer, without regard to his or her sexuality, I might add. Queer, gay, homo, fag meant nothing having to do with what you were attracted to and no one committed suicide, got beat up or even called names in that regard. That was my experience.

Then, about ten years later, the media and the ever-tolerant Hollywood (not), began portraying homosexual (men) on television and film as the “Funny” one or the one you felt sorry for – just to get us used to the idea. C’mon – who didn’t laugh at Paul Lynde or Charles Nelson Reilly? And not until Ellen demanded her character come out of the closet (which she was summarily fired for) did gay characters litter the big and small screen alike, whether it was important or not. ( Just to go a little further with this point, Hollywood will put “gay” characters in tv show/movies that are not relevant to the plot. They try to portray this as “Normal” America. I can tell you right now, when I’m tossing the football with my son in front of the house, I have never seen 2 men hand in hand prancing down the street. You?)

Gay Teen Killed at his 18th Birthday Party

No words...
An autistic teenager died from horrific burns after he was set alight at his 18th birthday party by a yob who had scrawled insults on his body about being gay.

Vulnerable Steven Simpson was doused in tanning oil before Jordan Sheard held a lighter to his groin and sparked it, engulfing him in flames which caused 60 per cent burns.

Sheffield Crown Court heard how Sheard, 20, had called Steven a 'gay c**t' earlier at his birthday party and wrote 'I love d**k' on his stomach in marker pen.

A paramedic who came to treat the young victim reported seeing lipstick smudged on his face and the words 'Gay Boy' written on his forehead in pen, although it was not clear who had written it.

When Steven, who suffered from Asperger's Syndrome, went up in flames, Sheard scarpered and then tried to blame his victim telling cops he had set himself on fire.

Judge Rodger Keen QC jailed Sheard for three years and six months telling him: 'At his 18th birthday party you destroyed Steven's life.'

Prosecuting, Sarah Wright, explained how student Steven, who also had epilepsy and a speech impairment, had thrown an 18th birthday party for himself at the flat where he lived alone in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, on June 22 last year.

When no-one turned up, Steven went out and returned with some people.

Is DC Comics trying to Kill off their Most Prominent Black Character?

What is really going on at DC Comics?

Recently artists and writers are leaving the label over creative differences. However this news about writer Joshua Hale Fialkov's reason of leaving is raising eye-brows.

According to Bleeding Cool, Joshua left DC Comics over the possibility of killing off John Stewart, the Black Green Lantern.
I have been told by a number of high profile industry sources that Fialkov was asked to change his upcoming story to one that killed off Green Lantern John Stewart, DC Comics’ most prominent black character. And that is why he quit.

Created by Dennis O’Neil and Neal Adams in 1971, he was the lead character in the Green Lantern book for much of the eighties, and was the Green Lantern in the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited animated series. Such was the popularity of that incarnation that when Ryan Reynolds was announced as the star of the Green Lantern movie, much of the online response was outraged that he was being played by a white actor.
John Stewart is widely known as the Green Lantern partly because of the successful Justice League cartoon series and recently, co-leader of the Green Lantern Corps in the comic world.

To kill him off, could send mixed messages. At this point, he is the long standing Black character in the DC universe. It would be disheartening to kill him off now. DC please reconsider this idea.

Please.

Bully Writes Gay Slur on 7th Grader’s Neck

This is beyond horrible and sickening that this mess happens in schools.
At Mason Clark Middle School in East St. Louis, a bully attacked another student and wrote a word 'fag' on his neck.

He wrote it in permanent marker

That bully better be punished

My Top 10 Ways to Upgrade Black Gay Porn

Alright! I'm done, Jesus! (using my Sweet Brown voice)

I'm done with these tired Black gay adult movies! They look like some sad High School Senior project for film class.

The men look broke, the sets are at somebody's mama's house and production is poo-putt. It's a shame that the Black gay porn industry has NOT advanced in the last 30 years. However, I have some suggestions on turning this around.
  1. No Thug Life! Not all of us are in love with the thug imagery, diversify the look please.
  2. Raise some money! BG porn companies try to get a loan, use Kickstarter or have some telethons or something. These dollar store sets and cameras are a hot ass mess! Hire some eager film students to get the look and the feel of movie on point.
  3. Stop wearing do-rags and dirty socks in the scenes. Not sexy!
  4. Use condoms.
  5. Find some SEXY men, please. Stop hiring and recruiting Pookie and them from the local Steak-n-Shake.
  6. Different storylines! Let's have Roman gods or an orgy in Paris. Stop using drug dealer and gang-related themes.
  7. Try to build a brand. Go beyond stereotypical styles and set a new trend in the BG porn biz. Titan Media has a brand, Falcon, C1R, Randy Blue also have a brand. We need good branding to make better porn.
  8. Make sure the actors are tested and healthy.
  9. Work with the top porn directors and producers.
  10.  Use better marking to sell the porn. Stop putting the entire movie on the DVD case!
In all, just upgrade this mess. I need something to believe in.

Question of the Day

Do we perpetuate the rape culture in the Gay community?

Some say we do, some say we don't... What do you think?

Key Findings from the 2012 LGBTQ National College Athlete Report

Campus Pride's 2012 LGBTQ National College Athlete Report surveyed college athletes about their experiences. Here are some key findings.
Out of 8,841 NCAA athletes polled, only 394 identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual or questioning.

Only 7 individuals identified as transgender, and none of them were are part of a featured collegiate sport.

More women student athletes identified as LGBQ than men, according to the study.

LGBQ student athletes are more likely than their heterosexual counterparts to have other marginalized identities, including being a woman, being a person of color, or having a disability.

One in four LGBQ student athletes are pressured to be silent about their sexual identity among teammates and in playing collegiate sports.

LGBQ student athletes are two times more likely to experience harassment than heterosexual athletes.

LGBQ student athletes are nearly six times more likely to be singled out as the resident authority due to their identity compared to heterosexual teammates.

Fifty-one percent of LGBQ student athletes report being deliberately ignored or excluded compared to 41 percent of their heterosexual teammates.

Baauer Apologizes for Harlem Shake

The guy who unleashed the horror known as the "Harlem Shake" has apologized for it in an open letter below:
Dear Harlem,

I’m sorry so much of the world thinks you dress up in fuzzy animal suits and superhero costumes and do a weird dance that you don’t do because of a song I made.

I didn’t mean for any of this to happen, I swear. I was just trying to make a goofy dance song—like Yello’s “Oh Yeah,” from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, remember that one? Like that. And besides the zipper synths and growling lions and whatnot, I needed a catchy snippet for the hook. So I sampled the part of Plastic Little’s “Miller Time”where dude says, “I’ll punch you in your face/And do the Harlem Shake.” It’s not that great of a song or anything. And they’re not even from Harlem, those guys, they’re from Philadelphia, like me. I just needed something to plug in there, and that part fit with what I was doing.

I feel really bad about everything’s that’s come of it since—the kids from Australia making that video, then all those Internet nerds, then seemingly everyone else on the planet, following along, getting in the spirit, making their own version like a bunch of lemmings jumping into a fjord in Norway. (Hey! There’s an idea! A Harlem Shake video where everyone’s dressed like lemmings, and they dance right off a cliff!) Did you see the one the fucking Mitch McConnell’s campaign staff made? If not, don’t look it up. It’s… it’s not good.

And I feel even worse seeing as how there already was a dance called the Harlem Shake—a real one, a pretty cool one, too, that had actually originated in Harlem and stuff, that G. Dep and them did in that video back in 2001. G. Dep’s Child of the Ghetto album, by the way? Totally underrated. Excellent album, front to back. That’s sad what happened, with him turning himself in for the murder from 20 years ago and all. But that was a stand-up thing that he did.

Anyway, like I said, sorry. It was an accident.

Sincerely,

Baauer
I need more than an apology, I need it to be erased from history.

Interesting Quote: Tony Perkins

"It looks like Democrats won't need to spend a lot of money building a case against the GOP - because the Republican Party is doing it for them! In what the RNC is calling its 'autopsy' report from the last election, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus has decided that the way for his party to win over voters is to parrot the Left's policies. The grand strategy, which calls for throwing the party's social conservatives overboard, demands the GOP be more 'welcoming' and 'inclusive' to people that are actively working against the conservative principles in the Republican platform. 'We need to campaign among ... gay Americans and demonstrate that we care about them too.'

"I agree, we can - and do - care about gay Americans, but that doesn't mean we welcome the redefinition of the core values that gave rise to American exceptionalism. 'Already,' the report warns, 'there is a generational difference within the conservative movement about issues involving the treatment and the rights of gays - and for many younger voters, these issues are a gateway into whether the Party is a place they want to be.' Much of the autopsy (an apt name, considering where its recommendations would lead) seem to suggest that the RNC's idea of bold leadership is chasing whatever fickle policy wind blows its way. In the last 24 hours, the Washington Post caught plenty of people's attention with its latest polls on same-sex 'marriage,' particularly as it pertained to the next generation's support (81 percent). It's their assertion that Americans are racing headlong into the same-sex 'marriage' camp (a result the media was bound to get by framing the poll question as a matter of legality). But history - and most statistical data - shows that young people tend to become more conservative and more religious as they grow up, get married, and start families of their own. In fact, in Frank Newport's new book, God Is Alive and Well, the editor-in-chief of Gallup explains that most people are at their spiritually lowest point at age 23. After that, people become increasingly religious - meaning that a hasty retreat on marriage may score cheap points now, but it would actually alienate the same people later on. Besides, Priebus would be betting the future of the GOP on a bloc who barely votes - while alienating the millions of social conservatives who do!

Harsh Truth of the Day

Research shows that white audiences will not watch TV shows or movies which they judge to have too many people of color as characters. A historically accurate version of the Bible, which embraced the demographic realities of the era such as HBO’s epic series, “Rome,” would be a revelation. Unfortunately, many in the American public would be unwilling to hear such a basic truth, for it would be too upsetting for those who have internalized whiteness and white privilege even on matters of religion and faith.

Bryan Fischer: It's "Idiotic" For GOP to Pander to Gay Marriage

New Poll: 58% supports Marriage Equality

More Americans support Marriage Equality! Washington Post-ABC News poll sheds some light on this new fact:
The poll shows that 58 percent of Americans now believe it should be legal for gay and lesbian couples to get married; 36 percent say it should be illegal. Public attitudes toward gay marriage are a mirror image of what they were a decade ago: in 2003, 37 percent favored gay nuptials, and 55 percent opposed them...

...Among young adults age 18 to 29, support for gay marriage is overwhelming, hitting a record high of 81 percent in the new poll. Support has also been increasing among older adults, but those aged 65 years old and up remain opposed, on balance: 44 percent say same-sex marriage should be legal; 50 percent say illegal...

..A slim majority of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents under 50 years old now support gay marriage. Nearly seven in 10 of those aged 65 and up oppose it, although that is down from more than eight in 10 just four years ago.
Moving forward.

RNC looks at gay inclusion in the GOP

The GOP plans to look at the LGBT community in order to increase their outreach.

They just released the "Growth and Opportunity Project," a 97-page report that points out their faults with our community and how they will address it.
"For the GOP to appeal to younger voters, we do not have to agree on every issue, but we do need to make sure young people do not see the Party as totally intolerant of alternative points of view," the report states. "Already, there is a generational difference within the conservative movement about issues involving the treatment and the rights of gays — and for many younger voters, these issues are a gateway into whether the Party is a place they want to be."
"If our Party is not welcoming and inclusive, young people and increasingly other voters will continue to tune us out," the report continues, adding that disagreement over 20 percent of the issues should not mean the party cannot come together on the other issues. Polling has consistently shown nearly half of conservatives younger than 30 support marriage equality.
The report comes after RNC Chairman Reince Priebus announced the creation of the project to examine the GOP's electoral woes in December 2012. Tasked with putting forward recommendations in a number of key areas necessary for winning elections, the co-chairs of the project made contact with more than 52,000 people through a series of polls and focus groups.
Interesting, but will this work with most of their current views against us?
