My ideas for a Smallville version of Wonder Woman

io9 asked, Where is a Wonder Woman Smallville?

I wondered about the same thing over the years. I mean, it worked in the 70s, and Superwomen: Xena and Buffy soared in the 90s.

Can this be done? Maybe.

However, Smallville is based from Clark's teen years in, Smallville. Diana was raised in Paradise Island or the proper name, Themyscira. She never left the island until she won the title of Wonder Woman.

So if this was made into a show, here are some ways (I think) to go about it.
Paradise: Make the story about Diana's teen adventures on the island. There could be many mysteries hidden there. Remember, Themyscira is in the Bermuda Triangle so there's bound to be something lingering about. Then, you have the Greek myths to play with, that could be fun. Also there could some stories about Queen Hippolyta's rule on the island. I can imagine many amazons not agreeing with the Queen or Hippi and her enemies that could threaten the island.

Diana, Year One: This series could be about Diana's first year in 'man's world'. We can see how her ancient/warrior upbringing conflict with the modern times of America. Also we can see her face her first big bad and her first heartbreak.
Those are some of my ideas for a WW show. I would be nice to see her in live action again.

Just in case any Hollywood types are reading this...
Those are BOTH great ideas.
The first season, or season & a half could be on Themyscira.
They would have free reign to examine that, becuase I don't think too many writers have fleshed out the Island Origins.
1.But now we do know there were Amazon Others (like on LOST).
2. We know there was drama between Hippolyta & her sister.
3.We know Diana was molded to look like that sister.
4. They could introduce a bitchy Artemis on the Island, give yound Diana a rival (who's not allowed in the competition to be WW.)
5. Like you said, all those great Greek Myths, like Medusa, Zues, etc... which should really pick up steam after Clash of the Titans.
6. There was that conflict Hippolyta had with Herculues. (that could be played up for both Drama & Romance- like The Comedian & Sally Jupiter in Watchmen).
7. And after all that on One and a Half Seasons, during sweeps, they could have the Contest where she becomes WW. Then she goes to Man's world... fish out of water.
8. Season two... guest stars from Cheeta to Circe, cameo by Tom Welling reprising Clark in the Supe Cape, etc.
9. Season Three, they could spend half the season telling William Messner Loebs awesome story arc that puts Artemis (would have been our nemesis on Season 1) as the New Wonder Woman.
Dear God, Hollywood, listen up! Read this. There is good storytelling waiting... and easy money as a reward.

WM - these are both EXTRAORDINARY ideas.

Now............ here are my thoughts..

---Write a story outline for Diana Year One - with flashbacks showing time at Paradise.
---Start out by doing a character sketch - for each character you need to have a physical - historical - and psychological / personality profile.
---You need to outline some story arcs - these are single paragraphs that can be later extrapolated into larger stories.
---the primary story outline needs to be what YOU would see the pilot being - think 2 hours.
--- If you need help - I am currently in the midst of writing my 2nd novel as the 2nd of a two part series I hope to get submitted to literary agents when the second is finished.
--- Some of your story arcs need to include both Mans World and Themyscira as we know she often travelled between both. This way you could also show the conflict between her Amazon Ideals and responsibilities - and her"new duty" of learning in mans world and her role as an ambassador / defender.

I think you have two winners here that could easily be combined into something that could TOTALLY eclipse Smallville.

You are an intelligent and creative man.

Get to work mister :)
