Old School Crush: From the movie My Bodyguard- Adam Baldwin
Are Civil Unions becoming a more desirable option?
After the lost of Marriage Equality in several states, some within the LGBT community are looking to civil unions as an alternative to marriage.
In the weeks since Maine voters handed the gay marriage movement its 27th electoral defeat in five years, other activists have voiced similar qualms about making marriage their main goal.Also...
Gay rights leaders have insisted that anything less than full marriage equality is unacceptable, but some are asking whether the uncompromising strategy has forestalled interim steps that could improve the lives of gay men, lesbians and their families.
"They think the best way to achieve their goal of marriage with all the rights and benefits of marriage is a complete frontal assault, and any other strategy is a betrayal of their goal," Leland Traiman said.
Activists like Traiman point to the success of efforts to extend spousal rights and other civil rights protections to same-sex couples, even as the passage of gay marriage bans grab headlines.
The success of partner measures in those states suggests that there's room for gay couples to secure spousal protections even if they can't marry, said William Dobbs, a veteran activist in New York.Believe it or not, more folks are leaning toward this idea. As I read more articles or go to LGBT group discussions, people are beginning to see a different path.
"It's a huge tactical mistake to be arguing that nothing less than marriage will do," Dobbs said. "One size does not fit all. "There is a real need among some folks to put their lives together, to have joint credit cards, a house and children," he said. "We need a set of actions for that, but the marriage fight is toxic to other types of reforms."
In fact, some polls has shown the marriage issue slipping down the major list of LGBT wants.
I don't know what to think about this, I actually see both sides. I want the legal rights and protections, but the ability to feel and be treated like a regular citizen are highly important.
However, if we continue to lose more Marriage Equality battles, I believe more folks will move towards civil unions. And so far, that path is slowly getting clearer.

Remakes Shemakes: I Spit on Your Grave and The Amityville Horror (Again?)
More Remake madness in the Horror world.
First, I Spit on Your Grave
It's a cult classic and should be left alone. However, others feel differently, Shock to You Drop said:
There were rumblings a few months back that shooting had begun on a remake of Meir Zarchi's version with Steven R. Monroe (It Waits) behind the camera to direct for CinTel Films. Now, IMDB (via Arrow In The Head) uncovered a list of the full cast for the feature which Anchor Bay Entertainment is co-producing.The next one is... The Amityville Horror. Yes, ANOTHER remake of this movie. BD Horror had this to say:
Sarah Butler, Chad Lindberg, Daniel Franzese, Rodney Eastman, Jeff Branson, Saxon Sharbino, Amber Dawn Landrum and Andrew Howard all star in the update of I Spit On Your Grave.
I just finished wiping away the tears of laughter as I just discovered that the Weinstein Company and Dimension Films are planning on remaking The Amityville Horror...again. Andrew Douglas directed the 2005 reboot produced by Platinum Dunes that grossed over $100m at the box office worldwide. I guess five years in the new 25? Our sources also tell us that there just might be a director already in talks to develop the project. Knowing Dimension Films, I'd expect this project to start and stop at least a dozen times before it ultimately fails. Alas horror fiends, don't stress it no matter how idiotic this sounds.
I'm not feeling these choices, but I might check out I Spit on Your Grave because Rodney Eastman is in it. He was Joey in Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and 4. So cute.
Interesting Quote: Taylor Harris
"To be clear, (Julian) Bond has used this line several times, and when he says "equality," he isn't talking about the right to vote, the right to eat at a public restaurant, the right to attend an integrated school or the right to a fair trial. He is talking about the right to change the definition of marriage to include same-sex couples."
I disagree with some parts of this article, however, both groups could do better in reaching out and understanding each other's pain.
It's an interesting article to read.

Christopher Barron is on Crack!
We gays should be diverse in our views and opinions. However, when we start acting insane, someone should call Security or the Lord.
Right now, that insanity is coming from Christopher Barron.
He has launched a new group called, Draft Cheney, yes I kid you not!
Christopher believes that:
"The 2012 race for the Republican nomination for President will be about much more then who will be the party's standard bearer against Barack Obama, the race is about the heart and soul of the GOP. There is only one person in our party with the experience, political courage and unwavering commitment to the values that made our party strong – and that person is Dick Cheney."Christopher, please! Are you from Earth 4? Are you serious about that?
I guess he is, but here's a little more about Miss Chris. He was the political director of the Log Cabin Republicans, and later formed the super GOP-ish version called, GOProud. Christopher plans on lobbying the 'Cheney' group at tea parties and has started a facebook group in hopes of rallying support.
I would love to see these tea parties. Gay man rallying up America's crazed and insane? Good Grief!

Thanks, Champ
Apparently, something big happened it and now it's sold out everywhere.
The minute I heard it was sold out, I spent about 3 hours driving around L.A. searching for this comic.
After coming up short at the bookstores and comic book stores, I decided to hit the news stands.
One in particular, is located next to The Grove, however due to the holiday sales craziness, parking was close to impossible. I drove around in circles, trying not run down families or stupid drivers in this parking lot. About 30 minutes of endless circling, I almost gave up, until I heard a voice say, "Got any spare change?" A homeless guy was standing next to the news stand asking anyone for change. Then it hit me, this guy could help me and I can help him.
I called him over to my car, asked for his name and asked if he could run into the news stand "store" and look for The Outsiders comic. His name was Champ. I told Champ I would pay him to do it since I couldn't park anywhere.
He was shocked that DC Comics still made The Outsiders (It's been around for 20 years). Champ told me that he read it when Batman was a part of the group. That really made me feel good because he knew what I was looking for. Champ went inside to look for the comic, but it wasn't there.
I gave Champ 5 bucks and thanked him for his help. Without him, I would've kept driving in circles. I told Champ that he saved me a lot of time and I greatly appreciated the favor.
So after the exchange, I headed home. I hope Champ used the money for something good. He really helped me out today.

Boy Kisser or Girl Abuser... Take your pick
Well, as soon as I heard the news I knew there would be some smoke in the city.
ABC has booked Chris Brown perform on GMA and to talk about the abuse to Rihanna. However, fans of Adam Lambert are furious.
I can understand the anger, he attacked Rihanna more than once and that incident is not easy to forgive. Plus, the message that sends to the public very mixed. I'm curious to see how this plays out.ABC has booked Rihanna-beater Chris Brown for an interview and a performance on "Good Morning America" -- right after the network canceled guy-kisser Adam Lambert.
Brown will do a taped tell-all with Robin Roberts, followed by a performance of songs from his new album. But TV insiders say the appearance, slated to air the week after next, has outraged feminists and gay activists who wonder why a convicted girlfriend abuser is more palatable to the network than an openly gay man who broke no laws with his raunchy performance on the "American Music Awards."
Was ABC thinking at all about this format? How could they not see this coming? And although folks deserve a second chance, is this too soon?
I think this is too soon. Chris needs counseling and time away from everything. He needs to truly understand the impact of his actions. And ABC needs to understand theirs as well.
P.S. the source is from Fox News. Love how they describe this.

2 more cents on the Adam Lambert Drama
Something just crossed my mind as this whole Adam Lambert drama spills all over the place.
Regardless if he faked a blow job or kissed a guy, the networks sent a strong message to our community.
It feels like they're saying our "affections" are dirty, not suitable for TV or taboo. To blot Adam's kiss, says to me, a gay male kiss is wrong and should not be seen.
Maybe I'm way out on this matter, but I wonder how the LGBT youth are taking this. Some of them are really struggling with their sexuality and looking for some sense of clarity. When the major networks blot out Adam kissing a guy, what do they think that says to the LGBT community?
I truly hope ABC & CBS realized the impact of this foolishness. This could do more harm than good in the long run.
Justice begins for Jorge Steven Lopez Mercado and Jayron Martin
Great news for the families and friends of Jorge Steven Lopez Mercado and Jayron Martin.
The Puerto Rico Department of Justice has agreed to investigate Jorge's murder as a hate crime. This is big in Puerto Rico.
Jorge was horribly murdered by Juan Martinez Matos, who claimed Gay Panic.
Jayron Martin, the teen who was beaten with a pipe because he was gay, finally has some movement in his case. According to Rod 2.0, one guy has been arrested and possibly charged with an assault and a hate crime.
I hope Jayron and that teen gets some type of counseling for all of this drama.
Tnx to Rod 2.o for finding the info.
Charleston City making Progress
Wow, just when I thought SC was a lost cause, they turn me around. I have to say I'm shocked by this, but I'm glad for the good news.
Check it out:
Charleston City Council passed ordinances expanding the city’s existing policy prohibiting discrimination in housing to include age, sexual orientation and gender identity.
The council also passed a public accommodations ordinance prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, disability, age or sexual orientation. The ordinances were presented to the mayor’s office in August by members of Charleston’s Alliance For Full Acceptance (AFFA), SC Stonewall Democrats, SC Log Cabin Republicans, American Civil Liberties Union and South Carolina Equality—who had successfully introduced similar ordinances in Columbia SC.
Charleston is the second municipality in the state to pass comprehensive human rights ordinances in housing and public accommodations that include sexual orientation and gender identity.
Alright, Charleston!

Sade is Back!
I just died on the moon and later found in the Jamaica Bay!
Okay, bad Jean Grey reference, but I have to say... Sade is back!!!
Soldier of Love is the new CD!
Sade and her longtime bandmates including Stuart Matthewman, a.k.a. Cottonbelly, regrouped in a U.K. recording studio in June and were recording and mixing into October.
Though no details about Sade's new music have yet been revealed, one artist heard early versions of several songs: Maxwell, a fellow Sony recording artist and longtime friend and collaborator with Matthewman. The R&B singer sent a message to fans in March via his private Facebook page in which he indicated that he'd heard some of his labelmate's new recordings. "Trust me, it's so monolithic it'll shake you in your shoes!" he wrote.
It's coming out in February! Get Excited!

10 Mistakes I made in High School
Between the years of 1988-1992, I was a high school student. I was in a clique and semi-popular however, I made many missteps with my fashion, attitude and awareness.
So after thinking, looking at too many pictures and yearbooks, I came up with a list of mistakes I made during my "budding" years.
- Falling for a boy named JimBob.
- Working at McDonald's instead of JC Penny.
- Thinking I would join the army.
- Took cooking classes instead of Typing (I can only type with one hand)
- Being concerned with people's views of me.
- Not taking high school seriously, I could've made better grades.
- Carried my books like a girl.
- Creating "Guess Jeans" Thursdays.
- Stop writing stories.
- Not truly being my big gay self.

Quick Response on Adam's Mock BJ Dance
Here's my 12 cents on all of this.
- The performance was meh. He was trying too hard to be out there.
- He did all of the "ideal" things to cause drama and was boring.
- It's a double standard, however Madonna, Britney, Christina and other sexy moments were on CABLE. You can get away with it on there, but I'm glad he pushed the envelope (what does that really mean?)
- This is really not that serious.
- The Shock and Awe is a tired act. Shock us with your voice, Adam!
Great Hera, NOM's attacking New Jersey!
I knew these whores were coming for NJ. They are launching attacks in Jersey, starting with a $500,000 outreach campaign.
Here's their Press Release:
National Organization for Marriage Launches New $500,000 Message Campaign To Trenton:(Washington, DC) – The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) announces a new $500,000 voter outreach campaign in New Jersey highlighted by the release of a new radio ad, “Give Me a Break,” which will begin running on targeted New Jersey radio stations today and will continue for at least two weeks.
"Give New Jersey voters a break; don't vote for Corzine's gay marriage bill" - Brian Brown, Executive Director
“NOM's voter outreach will include telephone calling, direct mailers, and online advertising to let voters know that Democrats are considering following Jon Corzine over a political cliff by pushing gay marriage in the lame duck," said Brian Brown, executive director of NOM.
The ad, "Give Me a Break," underscores that Gov. Jon Corzine had four years to push a gay marriage bill, and the losing governor should not waste legislators’ valuable time by pushing a gay marriage bill in the lame duck session when New Jersey voters expect elected officials to focus on far more urgent priorities, like jobs, the economy and the budget.
“In the next two weeks NOM will spend $300,000 in voter outreach on the theme of this ad, including radio ad buys, direct mail, and online advertising,” said Brian Brown. “We have reserved an additional $200,000 for advertising and direct mail outreach if the legislature continues to spend more and more of its time into December fooling around with a vote for gay marriage that New Jersey voters do not want.”
The latest installment in NOM's New Jersey campaign will bring the total NOM has spent in New Jersey in 2009 in automated calling, radio and television ads, and direct mail voter outreach to more than $1 million. NOM was the single largest donor to both of the successful California and Maine campaigns, donating over $1.5 million for each state.
We need to put our resources in NJ. They need us.
Leave "Lloyd" Alone
Is this really happening in Hollywood. I thought we ran L. A. Anywho, here's the drama:
"Entourage" creator Doug Ellin has vowed to put an end to homophobic and racial slurs made behind the scenes of the hit TV show after actor Rex Lee complained about bullying on set.
The gay Asian star, who plays Lloyd on the program, admitted he was "occasionally" targeted by crewmembers for his lifestyle. Lee told TMZ.com he had been subjected to "insensitive gay jokes", but added, "I try not to let it bother me."
Ellin is "shocked and horrified" to learn of Lee's claims, and has promised to take charge of the matter when filming on the seventh season begins next year.
I knew the show was Uber Hetero, but seriously. This is mess.
Stay strong, Rex!

Open Letter: Ryan C. Jones
Hi friends and family,I am writing you this in hope you can do me a large favor. As some of you know, I lost someone very close to me this week. A student of mine was taken from us in a violent manner. His name was Jason Mattison and he was a 15-year old student, whom I have had the privilege to teach through his 9th and 10th-grade years, since he arrived on our campus during the summer of 2008.There has been extensive news coverage of Jason’s death over the past few days. He was brutally attacked, abused, fatally injured and left for dead. His attacker, a 35-year old previously convicted murderer, has been arrested, and will meet his doom in one way or another.
However, I am writing because not enough positive things have been shown about Jason. As is often the case, the majority of news has revolved around the graphic nature of his death and the circumstances relating to his attacker. Too often, we hear news that a young, black male from Baltimore City was killed and we think nothing of it.Jason was not just another statistic! He was a lively, unique individual who brought smiles to the faces of countless people every day. Jason was an above-average student, who excelled in many areas of academics and social life. He dreamed of finishing his career here and moving on to college, medical school and then to his own pediatric office. God, how kids would have loved his big smile and booming voice! You need to simply look at his exotic dress, flare for the dramatic in class and with friends and talk to those who knew him to understand what a loss we have all been dealt.
Jason was in no way involved with gangs, drugs or weapons. He spent his time after school doing homework in teachers’ classrooms and hanging out with friends. His nightly routine of chatting on MySpace is the same one any of our kids have, and the same one as kids all across America. But for as “typical” as Jason seemed, he was so unique. He hated normal! He was different because he could be. He wore his skinny jeans and fashionable sweaters and blazers because it made him stand out.
I’ve included a few pictures of Jason as a way to expose what a great child he was, and to allow those who didn’t know him to see more than the news coverage allows. In my eyes, this tragedy has focused so much on the negative and what is truly being lost is what a great child we had the pleasure of being around. It hurts me to watch the news and see a murderer’s face and story being told and not that of Jason!!!!!
Please do me a favor and honor Jason! I am asking that you simply forward this e-mail and pictures to everyone you know. I want Jason’s story to be told and I want everyone to see that we have lost an innocent child! And maybe more importantly, I want everyone to see how beautifully wonderful this child was!!!
Ryan C. Jones was Jason's teacher.

DNC Boycott? DNC just raised $11million Bucks!
So, how is that AmericaBlog DNC boycott doing?
You know the one John Aravosis 'n the gang launched against the DNC for shooting JR.
Well, I think after seeing this, maybe we will have some perspective
The Democratic Party raised $11.5 million in October, a record month for a non-presidential election year in the post-McCain-Feingold era, according to a party source. That leaves the Democratic National Committee with $12.9 million in cash on hand and $4.4 million in outstanding debts. The Republican National Committee raised $8.7 million in October has $11.2 million cash and no debt.
Hmm, so I think the boycott is NOT working for now. Actually, it may never work. If you go on AmericaBlog Gay site and read the responses, you will notice that most of the followers never donated to the DNC in the first place.
So, if your followers haven't donated and your main core buddies don't donate, who are you talking to?

Who's Designing the KKK outfits, Gucci?
Yes, the idiots rose again to protest Ole Miss for removing "From Dixie with Love" from the school band's song list.
The reason is because the fans shout out "the South will rise again".
However, enjoy these poor souls wasting their time. This is why I went to Murray State in Kentucky, the KKK stayed hidden.

So after seeing these Levi pics, I have to say they were okay. However, here's my bullet point review.
- He has a lot to learn if he's going to be putting out there, but it's a decent start.
- Levi is a bit lean for me, but he's still cute.
- His butt is too flat, I wish there was more.
- His eyes are nice.
- I wish he was a little more playful.
- Levi was more twink and less Cornfed... I wanted Corn!

Vampires and werewolves have vanquished a dark knight. "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" took in $72.7 million in its first day to break the single day domestic box office record previously held by "The Dark Knight," which had a $67.2 million opening day last year. The Friday haul for the "Twilight" sequel includes a record $26.3 million from midnight screenings alone.
If "New Moon" maintains its pace, it might have a shot at the all-time best opening weekend record of $158.4 million, also held by "The Dark Knight."

Sexy Idris Elba will be Heimdall in Thor
Now I have a reason to see Thor. My Boo, Idris will be in it.
Idris Elba has joined the cast of "Thor," Marvel Studios' film centering on the Norse god of thunder.
Kenneth Branagh is directing the adaptation of the Marvel comic. Chris Hemsworth will star as Thor; Tom Hiddleston will play Loki, and Natalie Portman is the love interest Jane Foster.
Elba will play Heimdall; as the guardian of Asgard, he stands on the BiFrost Bridge ready to defend the city from intruders.
Can't wait to see his warrior gear.

Forget The Judas Contact, Heed the madness of The Manhattan Manifesto!
What is the The Manhattan Manifesto?
Well I can tell you it's fresh mess, but that's my opinion.
The Manhattan Manifesto is from a group of lost Christians vowing to stop the gay terror in the nation. Yes, that sound dramatic, but read this piece here:
It is ironic that those who today assert a right to kill the unborn, aged and disabled and also a right to engage in immoral sexual practices, and even a right to have relationships integrated around these practices be recognized and blessed by law—such persons claiming these “rights” are very often in the vanguard of those who would trample upon the freedom of others to express their religious and moral commitments to the sanctity of life and to the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife.
We see this, for example, in the effort to weaken or eliminate conscience clauses, and therefore to compel pro-life institutions (including religiously affiliated hospitals and clinics), and pro-life physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other health care professionals, to refer for abortions and, in certain cases, even to perform or participate in abortions.
We see it in the use of anti-discrimination statutes to force religious institutions, businesses, and service providers of various sorts to comply with activities they judge to be deeply immoral or go out of business. After the judicial imposition of “same-sex marriage” in Massachusetts, for example, Catholic Charities chose with great reluctance to end its century-long work of helping to place orphaned children in good homes rather than comply with a legal mandate that it place children in same-sex households in violation of Catholic moral teaching.
In New Jersey, after the establishment of a quasi-marital “civil unions” scheme, a Methodist institution was stripped of its tax exempt status when it declined, as a matter of religious conscience, to permit a facility it owned and operated to be used for ceremonies blessing homosexual unions. In Canada and some European nations, Christian clergy have been prosecuted for preaching Biblical norms against the practice of homosexuality. New hate-crime laws in America raise the specter of the same practice here.
This is some discounted malarkey and if you read the rest of this Manifesto, you might either laugh or cry at how silly these "leaders" are.
The rest is here
