This is the 35th Anniversary of 'Carrie'
This is one of my favorite movies, actually, it's in my top 5. Carrie was THAT movie. It scared me, inspired me and thrilled me.
It was how I knew what the X-Men Jean Grey was... A telekinetic. Plus, Brian De Palma was a mastermind. He knew how make this movie POP!
Anywho, happy 35th, Carrie. And here are some my favorite scenes:
Carrie's first and last (this scene makes me cry sometimes)
The Prom Showdown
The Mother's death/cumming scene

I Celebrated Xanadu's 30th Anniversary
Me and the Diva Mega, Darcel Wynne (And my eyes are closed!!!)
Last night, I was reborn at the 30th Anniversary of Xanadu! I dragged my partner to Glendale to see this wonderful movie. It was a true experience because some of the cast, including 3 Muses and Gene Kelly's wife were there.
We also had a performance from Darcel Wynne and her dance troupe, it was so good! And Darcel... Diva.
I was very happy to see her, because I was so inspired by her as a kid. She was a powerful dancer on Solid Gold and I wanted to dance just like her. When I talked to Darcel, I almost fainted.
Okay, enough of my rambling; here are some pics from the event.
BTW, I cried at the "I'm Alive" scene in the beginning (I always cry during that scene). I'm such a geeky gay.

This is the 25th Anniversary of She-Ra
This diva here, is one of the reasons I start creating superheroes and comic books. She-Ra, Princess of Power.
I remember seeing this picture and thinking... OMG, look at her!
I was so caught up in her, that I actually stole a She-Ra doll from Fred's Discount Store (I was a good thief at 10 years old). My sister also had a Catra doll and I secretly played with her from time to time. And when the cartoon came out, I was completely hooked and a fan for life. To this day, this theme song still excites me
Happy Anniversary, She-Ra.

It's the 30th Anniversary of the Greatest Movie ever made... XANADU

Y'all know I'm obsessed with this movie. Countless times, I have referenced this film in some form or fashion.
But seriously, Xanadu changed my life. The songs, the scenes, Olivia just cracked open my creative mind. I start drawing, roller skating, singing and wearing over-sized T-shirts so I could exposed my shoulders like Olivia.

So to wrap this up, I will post some favorite clips of the best movie on earth.
Oh, I can do this all day

Clueless Turns 15

I loved this movie. It defined my college experience: cellphones, fashion and taste in emo/granola eating boys.
What were your favorite scenes?
BTW... I still have my cellphone from 1995. My friends and I actually called each other in our classes during different times of the day. We were such silly queers.

Showgirls turn 15

Believe it or not, it's the 15th anniversary a little overly-sexed film called Showgirls.
I love this movie, in fact it was my 1st RA program with my residents. I took them to see Showgirls in Murray, KY.

Anywho, I thought I would celebrate by showing you my favorite clips from the movie.

Remember Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover

Carl committed suicide on this day.
He did this because he was bullied at school and taunted of being gay.
A year later, a group has created facebook project: 5 Minutes to Remember Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover
Please spend 5 minutes in Carl's memory and CALL YOUR Representative and ask him/her to support (or thank them if they already do) the Safe Schools Improvement Act, a comprehensive federal anti-bullying bill. Please remember Carl.
FIND YOUR Congressperson here: http://bit.ly/ForCarl
MESSAGE FROM CARL'S MOTHER, Sirdeaner Walker:
One year ago Tuesday, my son Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover brought his life to an end after enduring relentless harassment and cruel bullying at school. It is difficult to put into words what it feels like to remember that terrible day. But it is not difficult at all to do something positive in Carl’s memory.
That is why I hope you will join me in taking a moment from your busy day to reflect on Carl’s life and his tragic suicide – and to remember that bullying in schools has very serious and life-threatening consequences.

The Anniversary of Lawrence King's Death

Today is the anniversary of the death of Lawrence King. He was the young kid that was killed by a classmate, because he was gay.
If you are not aware of his story, please google his name. In so many ways, we were Lawrence. His story embodied many of our experiences as we were growing up, coming into our own.
I wish his family strength as the case continues and another day passes without him.
He is greatly missed.
