Hate Leaders deliver signatures seeking repeal Houston's Non-Discrimination Ordinance
After Houston passed the non-discrimination ordinance, religious leaders vowed to force the issue on a November vote. Well, they claim to have more than enough signatures to it.
A group of bigots turned in more than 50,000 signatures within the 30-day window of the ordinance's passing. They have to have 30,000 registered Houston voters for it to move forward.
Here's more:
"It has been shown and demonstrated that the people of the city do not want this ordinance," said pastor Max Miller, of the Baptist Ministers Association of Houston and Vicinity. "We simply say: Allow the people to vote on this ordinance."This is silly. These so-called leaders are nothing but bigots in disguise.
Staff in the city secretary's office will have 30 days to verify the petitions, said Mayor Annise Parker, who pledged to fight the effort to overturn the ordinance should it make the November ballot.
"This was not a narrowly focused, special-interest ordinance," said Parker, the first openly lesbian mayor of a major American city. "This is something that the business and civic community of Houston was firmly behind and we fully expect if there is a campaign that it will be a spirited campaign, but we'll have the same outcome in November as we had around the council table."

160 Religious Leaders beg Obama to Protect Religious Freedom/Their Right to Discriminate
About 160 religious leaders sent President Obama a letter to (and get this) include strong religious freedom protections in the LGBT Job Projection Executive Order.
In other words, they want to be able to discriminate in the name of the Lord.
I have the letter below. You will see that they don't support the EO, however it feels like a guilt trip. They mention how protecting their religious freedom allows them to do their charity work and such. These folks have the nerve.
Check it out for yourself

According to a survey by the Pew Research Center, Black Protestants are coming around.
Here's more:
'The sharpest change has occurred among black Protestants, only 32% of whom favored same-sex marriage in our aggregated 2013 polling,' Pew Research notes.Changes are happening.
'A survey we conducted last month found that figure has now risen to 43%,' the organization continues.
The study also points to an uptick 'among white mainline Protestants (from 55% in 2013 to 62% this year).'

In Arizona: You have to believe in God in order to Graduate
Arizona continues their stupid steak by introducing a bill that forces High School students to swear by God before graduating... No joke
A group of Republican lawmakers want to require Arizona students to recite a loyalty oath to the U.S. and its Constitution before they can graduate high school. They are sponsoring House Bill 2467 in the Legislature. If passed, it would make the loyalty oath a prerequisite for graduation from any public high school in Arizona starting with the 2013-14 school year.Sometimes, I think some of the folks in Arizona enjoys being the ass of this country.
Students would be required to say:
I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose or evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge these duties; so help me God.
The wording sounds somewhat similar to oaths of office taken by members of Congress and the U.S. president. Some states have required public employees, including school teachers, to take or sign similar oaths.

Ugh, American Family Association!
In their attempt to scare silly people, 'Dummy Duck' a.k.a. Donald Wildmon tells 'Christians' that in the year 2060, they will be treated like Black folks during the civil rights era. Oh, and we will have a Muslim president too.

In Kentucky: The Senate panel fowards the 'Religious Freedom Act'
![]() |
Sen. Jimmy Higdon |
Here more on this malarkey:
The sponsor of Senate Bill 158, Sen. Jimmy Higdon, R-Lebanon, said it is designed to protect the free exercise of religion from unnecessary restriction by government. So folks will use religion to get out trouble, basically. Thanks lawmakers, you may have ruined the true point of religion.
He said it would give courts "more ammunition in favor of religion" when considering cases such as the jailing of Amish residents in Western Kentucky who refused to use orange safety triangles on their buggies and Christians in Bell County who want to hold public prayer at school athletic events.
The bill would "prohibit any human authority from burdening actions that are based on religious beliefs, except in support of a compelling governmental interest using the least restrictive means to further that interest."
The government would have to prove it has a "compelling interest" before it could restrict someone's religious freedom, Higdon said.

Roland Martin's Wife, Jacquie Hood Martin, sends out her Angry Tweet
Just when you thought it was safe, the Roland S. Martin drama continues. This time, it's his wife.
On Twitter, Jacquie Hood Martin spoke about her husband's suspension.
This is her tweet
Really, Jacquie? Really? I guess this is no surprise; she makes a living counseling folks away from their homosexuality.
So, when I saw this, I said to Ms. Girl:
But here's the kicker, after she posted that tweet, her entire Twitter account was deleted.
I wonder why she got rid of her account? I guess she wasn't ready for the backlash.
So Jacquie, take heed to what my grandmama use to say: Don't start nothin' and there won't be nothin'.

In Kentucky: A Church stands against Interracial Couples
Lord, I just talked about the foolishness within churches the other day and now this. A church in Eastern Kentucky are no fans of interracial marriage:
The issue came up at the Gulnare Freewill Baptist Church, said Dean Harville, a longtime member who serves as church secretary and clerk. Attendance is usually around 40 people for a Sunday service at the church in the Johns Creek area, Harville said.
Harville said his daughter Stella Harville, who is pursuing a master's degree in optical engineering at a school in Indiana, brought her fiancé, Ticha Chikuni, to church in June and played the piano as he sang.
The couple performed I Surrender All, said Stella Harville, who is 24. Chikuni, 29, who works at Georgetown College, is black. He is a native of Zimbabwe. This is too much... I hope they realize how un-God like this is.
Stella Harville grew up in the church and was baptized there, but she is not a member, Dean Harville said. Dean Harville said Melvin Thompson, who had been pastor for many years, told him in August that his daughter and her fiancé couldn't sing at the church again. Thompson stepped down as pastor in August, citing health issues, but he refused Harville's requests to drop the issue, Harville said.
The new pastor, Stacy Stepp, said the couple could sing at the church if they wanted, Harville said.
In early November, Thompson proposed the church go on record saying that while all people were welcome to attend public worship services there, the church did not condone interracial marriage, according to a copy of the recommendation supplied by the Harvilles.
The proposal also said "parties of such marriages will not be received as members, nor will they be used in worship services" or other church functions, with the exception of funerals. The recommendation "is not intended to judge the salvation of anyone, but is intended to promote greater unity among the church body and the community we serve," the copy supplied to the Herald-Leader read.

Churches tells HIV Patients they are Cured, and they Died
This is why religion needs to be checked. Churches in England and Scotland lied to HIV patients and they died because of it:
One of the guys truly believed this mess:A pastor at the Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN), a wealthy televangelist organization with branches throughout the world, told one undercover reporter - who actually is HIV positive - that they had a 100% success rate.
"We have many people that contract HIV. All are healed," Holmes said.
Holmes even said that if symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea persist, it's a good sign that the virus is leaving the body.
"We've had people come back before saying, 'Oh, I'm not healed. The diarrhea I had when I had HIV, I've got it again'" Holmes said.
"I have to stop them and say, 'No, please, you are free.'"
One of the victims, Emmanuel, stopped taking his medicine a year ago after being instructed by a pastor at his church in London.
WATCH the videoThe pastor told him that once god forgave him, "the disease will definitely go."But now Emmanuel believes he may have passed his HIV infection to his boyfriend."I feel guilty, if I'm the one who passed it onto him I'm feeling guilty. Yeah, very much guilty," he told Sky News.
This is evil. These churches lied and manipulated these people and now, they are dead! I hope they are arrested and sent to court!

In Tennessee: Church Deacons Assaulted a Gay Couple
My homestate just can't stop with the foolishness.
A gay Gibson County couple said they were assaulted when they tried to attend church services at the Grace Fellowship Church in Fruitland last Wednesday. The couple filed charges this past weekend.
"I went over to take the keys out of the ignition and all the sudden I hear someone say 'sick'em,'" said Gibson County resident, Jerry Pittman Jr.
Pittman said the attacked was prompted by the pastor of the church, Jerry Pittman, his father.
"My uncle and two other deacons came over to the car per my dad's request. My uncle smash me in the door as the other deacon knocked my boyfriend back so he couldn't help me, punching him in his face and his chest. The other deacon came and hit me through my car window in my back," said Pittman. He said bystanders did not offer assistance. He said the deacon yelled derogatory homosexual slurs, even after officers arrived. He said the officers never intervened to stop the deacons from yelling the slurs.
"If I was on the scene I would not have allowed that. The deputy should not have allowed it if he did," said Gibson County Sheriff Chuck Arnold.
Pittman said neither he nor Lee were allowed to press charges while at the church.
"I haven't talk to him but that would be out of character for my deputy to say unless they were causing a problem themselves," said Sheriff Arnold.
