Question of the Day

Gay clubs are the topic of the day. Some of them are banning bachelorette parties. The reason...Some gays feel like it's "flaunting" their freedom or their right to marry.

Since the passing of Prop 8, some clubs and their gay owners are shutting their doors to brides-to-be.

So my question is...Should gay clubs ban bachelorette parties?

I don't think gay clubs or straight clubs should ban anyone.
If the club has a policy of booking itself for private parties, then it shouldn't matter the party, other booking that group might bring harm to any patron.

I mean, haven't gay people been banned from far too many places to start their own banning now?

I agree that gay clubs don't need to start down the slippery slope of banning anyone - they're free to have all the B-ette parties they want . . . and we're just as free to not patronize those formerly gay bars that choose to host these sightseeing trips to the zoo.

I'm out of the loop! I didn't even know about having bachelorette parties in gay clubs. Most of the ones I went to and heard about were at the home of one of the bridesmaids or a rented party room somewhere. Male strippers were hired sometimes but not at many of them.

I can see both sides of this debate. Banning makes a statement, but you both make a valid point.
