Another Anti-Gay Attack in NYC

Eugene Lovendusky was attacked this weekend by a group of gay-bashers in Hell's Kitchen.

Alan L. Bounville, an activist, posted this on Facebook
Last night, Friday, May 24th, a group of 9-10 men attacked one of my dearest friends, Eugene Lovendusky. They yelled "faggot" at Eugene as he was punched in the jaw. There have been a half-dozen, publicized violent anti-queer crimes in New York City in May 2013, including the cold-blooded murder of Mark Carson, 32, for being a "faggot."
Please by safe, fam

More Attacks in NYC Gayborhoods

Three more people have been gay-bashed since Mark Carson's death.

Dan Contarino was jumped last night at Avenue D and 4th Street. And a gay couple were attacked between Prince and Houston streets early this morning.

NYPD are beefing up patrol in the NY Gayborhoods: the Village, Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen. Fam please, be safe and careful walking the streets. I can't believe this happening in the I love.

My Pride Story

Back in 2004, I marched in the NYC Pride parade. I was a part of the students and staff of Cornell group, there were about 20 of us at the time. Several them wanted to carry signs to express how they were out and proud. I wanted to do something different.

At the time, the media was all over the whole 'DL' thing. JL King went on Oprah and started a firestorm about Black Gay men being on the down low. After that mess, it felt like there was a target on our backs. So, I thought, "Why not change the message?" The night before the march, my best friend and I decided we would carry signs that said: NO DOWN LOW HERE and PROUD BLACK MAN. We were convinced it was the best thing we could do to send a new message out there.

The next day, we were set and ready to go. We took our signs and headed down the avenue. When we were marching, I remember seeing the faces of the Black men in the crowd. They were cheering and supporting us all the way. I was overflowed with so much emotion that it felt like I was flying. My friend was also on a cloud as well.

What we were doing had a powerful effect. Seeing the Black LGBT fam giving us so much love, truly inspired me. In fact, I think it was in that moment I knew I had to do more for our community.
Marching in that parade, made me realized what Pride was all about. It also made me very aware of the job I had to do.

So, at NYC Pride 2004... I became an activist and it's been one hell of a ride.

Dumbass Pastors in Fear of Harlem Pride

Harlem Pride President Carmen Neely
"God does not want to see homosexuals in our parks." This statement is coming from some stupid pastor who doesn't want a gay picnic in Marcus Garvey Park for Harlem Pride. And the sad part is, that pastor isn't alone in his views.
"If children start to believe it is okay to be gay, they will think it's okay to be a pedophile or have sex with animals," said Dr. Ronald Ferguson, the senior pastor at Antioch Church of God on W. 124th St. "It's a slippery slope."

Ferguson, who has three adult children and four grandkids, said he expects parishioners to follow his lead and stay indoors when the second annual Harlem Pride event arrives June 24.
"This gay pride nonsense is an abomination," Ferguson told the Daily News. "God does not want to see homosexuals in our parks."

Neither do Ferguson or some other local pastors fuming over the celebration of gay rights set for Marcus Garvey Park.

"The park is a family area, and the homosexual agenda will do nothing but harm the community," said Pastor Charles Curtis of Mount Olivet Baptist Church.
"Due to our religious beliefs, we do not support ... that event."
I love how these fools use these dumb excuses. The celebration picnic is all about freedom and pride. Nobody's trying to destroy the Black family. These pastors need to get a clue and STFU.

Gay Men Targeted in NYC's West Village

The Village in NYC ain't as safe as it used to be. According to NYPD, there are some thugs targeting gay men in the area.

GBM News has the story:
At least five gay men have been robbed by “mugging teams” in New York City’s West Village over the past two weeks, police warned yesterday.

The robberies, all during the early morning hours, were concentrated in the area of Christopher Street and Seventh Avenue South, the heart of the traditionally gay-oriented Village.

Along Christopher Street are several well-known gay bars, such as the Stonewall Inn, the Hangar, and Fat Cat.

The criminals are apparently finding their marks in such places, including a 26-year old victim who told investigators he “blacked out” during a party at the Hangar, and awoke in a pizza shop up the block, where he was met by a “heavyset woman”.

This woman told him his bag had been lifted, but she knew where it was. She led him to the bottom of a stairwell at 80 Christopher Street (many buildings and businesses along the blocks of Christopher Street west of Seventh have depressed entrances), where, she said, his bag had been dumped.

When the unidentified victim went down to retrieve it, he was jumped from behind and his iPhone was taken.

According to police, all five of the victims were alone when they were robbed, and detectives are said to be looking for several suspects, “possibly organized crews”.

Mugshots have been released of at least two suspects, one a heavyset woman described as a player in the Hangar robbery, and a possible accomplice, a young, fit male.
Wow! This is one of the few area I hang out while I'm in NYC. Sad to hear this is going on. To my fam down in the Village and Christopher St., be careful and stay alert.

NYC Activist Allen Roskoff calls for a Donald Trump Boycott

Like many of us, Donald Trump totally pissed gays off by saying we don't deserve marriage rights or benefits. In fact, he has gay activist Allen Roskoff calling for a boycott on the fake haired bastard.
"He's crossed the Rubicon," says Roskoff, a founder of the Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club. "It's unconscionable that he could exist in New York City." [...]

"He's an extreme bigot," says Roskoff, who was the first openly gay appointed official in New York City and has served under Gov. Mario Cuomo and Mayor David Dinkins, among others."
Roskoff adds: "Not only should gays be furious, we should be boycotting the products of the advertisers on his TV show" - "Celebrity Apprentice," which premiered Sunday night on NBC-TV  "and  certainly boycotting his casinos and hotels and apartment buildings."

Noting that Trump recently switched his stance on abortion from pro-choice to pro-life, Roskoff says: "His game plan is to appeal to the extreme right." But he continues: "How he does business in New York, how he's tolerated is beyond me. I think things are going to change for him."
I do believe that Trump has a war on his hands. NYC gays don't play.

WATCH NAACP President Benjamin Jealous speak at the New York City LGBT Community Center

NAACP President will Speak in the New York City LGBT Community Center

NAACP president Benjamin Jealous will make history by being the 1st NAACP president to meet in a LGBT center this Wednesday. The meeting is in preparation for the rally, One Nation Working Together, which takes place in Washington, D.C. next month.

Here's more:

The visit, believed to be the first by a sitting NAACP president to an LGBT center, comes in advance of the rally backed by major civil rights organizations and unions, which is expected to draw hundreds of thousands to the Lincoln Memorial on October 2 under the theme of “jobs, justice, and education.” Participating groups such as the NAACP, the National Council of La Raza, the AFL-CIO, and the Service Employees International Union will issue their most explicit call to date for LGBT equality during the march.

“I believe it is unprecedented for the sitting NAACP president to speak at the New York LGBT center, or any LGBT center, for that matter,” said Jeffrey Campagna, head of the LGBT desk for One Nation Working Together in New York. “It is an indication of the true coalition that One Nation Working Together represents and the true opportunity this is for the LGBT movement to join with labor groups and other civil rights groups to advance our agenda.”

I'm proud of Benjamin for making this progressive move forward.

Anti-Gay and All Around Fool, Pastor Bill Keller wants a "9-11 Christian Center" at Ground Zero

The fools are on tap about this Mosque issue.

Super Bigot, Pastor Bill Keller wants a Christian Center at Ground Zero.

This is what he had to say from his site:
How do you battle the darkness? With the LIGHT! I watched in disbelief a
few weeks ago as they announced the Muslims would be building a $110 million
mosque just a few blocks from where their Muslim brothers perpetrated the
greatest act of terror on US soil in history, deliberately flying planes
into the World Trade Center towers, knocking them down and killing 3,000
innocent souls in the process. The gall, the arrogance, the audacity of
this false relgion of violence, hate, and death to build their temple to
satan just blocks from that hallowed ground.

Islam is a 1400-year-old lie from hell, dreamed up by Mohammed after being
visited by angels of satan in his sleep. "Allah" is an imaginary god that is
actually a black rock and is NOT the God of the Bible! Islam has advanced
this false relgion for 1400 years through violence, hatred, and death. The
greatest difference between Christianity and Islam is that you are born into
Islam, or threatened with death to become a Muslim. You become a Christian
by making the free-will choice to accept Jesus Christ by faith!

After I got over being angry, I got on my knees in prayer. I knew God was
calling me to do something, but what? After many hours, I realized it would
not be another "big event," that just hours after it was over people would
be back to their lives and nothing would have been accomplished. We have
all been to and seen "big events," and nothing ever changes. No, this had
to be more than an event, but an ongoing mission to combat this new evil
being constructed near ground zero which would bring people the Truth of
God's Word and the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

I am excited to announce today the birth of the "9-11 Christian Center at
Ground Zero" on Sunday, September 5th. The mission is simple. Have a place
at ground zero where people can come to hear the real uncompromised Truth
right from God's Word, and find the only true hope there is, faith in Jesus
Christ!!! We will combat the lies of this world and Islam with the TRUTH.
We will combat the hatred of this world and Islam with LOVE. We will combat
the violence of this world and Islam with PEACE. Finally, we will combat
eternal death this world and Islam brings with LIFE EVERLASTING!!!
His site is full mess and he is determined to push this forward. If you want, just take a look at his crap. He is disgusting.

The Suspect of the NY Car Bomb is...

Faisal Shahzad is the man in question of the NY bomb scare.

He was found and arrested yesterday at JFK.

The man, Faisal Shahzad, was arrested just before midnight Monday aboard an Emirates flight. He is expected to face charges of terrorism and attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction in what Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. called a “terrorist plot aimed at murdering Americans.”

Speaking at a news conference in Washington, Mr. Holder said Mr. Shahzad had been talking to investigators and had provided “useful information.” Officials had previously said that Mr. Shahzad had implicated himself in statements after he was pulled off the plane. At the same time, President Obama said federal investigators were looking into whether Mr. Shahzad had any ties to terrorist organizations.

Faisal is still in custody and he has a family here in the states.

Gay + Geek + Costume Fetish = Skin Tight U.S.A.

An interesting group called, Skin Tight U.S.A., held their regular event at the Stonewall Inn this weekend.

Oh, I didn't tell you who or what is Skin Tight U.S.A. Well, they are huge fans of superheroes and their tights.

This is Skin Tight U.S.A., the occasional costume-fetish party held at the Stonewall Inn in the West Village, which draws a regular group of men (and their admirers) who enjoy a special kind of dress-up. Some wear heroic outfits; some, wrestling gear. The crowd can range from 25 people on an average night to 250 on a spectacular one. The common thread is that the muscle-cuddling garb often leaves little to the imagination.

“I was always attracted to the superhero physique,” said Matthew Levine, 31, who helped found the party in 2005 with Andrew Owen, 44, and who was one of the few participants willing to be named. The two become friends as, respectively, the graphic designer and Webmaster for Hard Comixxx, a predecessor of Skin Tight, once held at the Eagle bar in Chelsea. Mr. Levine is a big fan of the X-Men (who have a handful of gay characters) and the Transformers (all of whom seem straight) and has been reading comics since he was 8. “As I got older,” he said, “I realized, ‘Oh, this is why I admire the Grecian ideal of manhood and musculature.’ ”

“Growing up in the ’80s, I guess I didn’t even think gay super-heroes or supporting characters were a possibility,” Dan Avery, 37, an editor of Next, a guide to gay night life in New York City, wrote in an e-mail message. “I do remember feeling like I had two secrets I had to keep: being gay and being a comic-book fan. I’m not sure which I was more afraid of people discovering.” These days, Mr. Avery is a member of a group of gay men who meet regularly to discuss the latest comics.
This sounds amazing, naughty, but fun to see. I wonder if there will a similar event at Comic Con this year?
