This is the 40th Anniversary of Charlie's Angels

Many of us watched this show back in the day. It's weird to think it's been 40 years.

Happy Anniversary, Angels

My Top Movie Characters who could've been Charlie's Angels

I'm thinking to crazy today.

Imagine if Charlie could recruit these women to be Angels, how fun would it be to see these particular women saying "Good morning, Charlie!"

Check them out, after the jump.

“Sorry Charlie” 10 Reasons why Charlie's Angels Failed

I am very happy that Charlie's Angels is canceled. The reboot of the famed series was doomed from the started, but ABC believed it could work. (ha!)

I saw and read the pilot of the show, and honey, I was like "put this bag out on the curb". This show really wasn't strong enough to be on a major network, in fact, it should have been on CW.

Anywho, Charlie's Angels was destined to fall away. And, I think this show failed because of these 10 reasons:
  1. Rebooted TV shows don't work. There have been several rebooted TV shows and most of them have failed. What was cute in the 70s don't do well in the 00s.
  2. The idea was flawed. We had Alias, She Spies and V.I.P. These shows already played the female super spy gig to the last note. CA didn't offer anything new to the genre.
  3. The girls. The super pretty girls gag is old. If the Angels were made up of Michelle Rodriguez, Grace Pack and Zoe Bell, I think the show could go places. These women are beautiful, deadly, and they look the part! A pretty face can't sell everything!
  4. The writing was HORRID!
  5. The show took itself too seriously.
  6. The actresses... Well, they were okay. But they were not strong enough to carry the show.
  7. The stories were nothing to shout about. It's been done and seen before.
  8. The new concept of the Angels' existence was flat out silly.
  9. There was no direction of where the main story was going. More attention seemed to be on their wardrobe than the plot.
  10. The show was put on Thursday nights. Not a wise move from ABC.

Here's the New HOT Bosley from the Charlie's Angels Reboot

I guess if the girls are hot, the men had to follow.

Meet our new Bosley, Ramon Rodriguez.

Such a cutie.

Are these girls the New Charlie's Angels?

Word is these girls maybe working for Charlie.

Deadline has the scoop...
Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor are close to putting on angel wings. The Friday Night Lights alumna and the Transformers babe are in negotiations for the remaining two Angel spots in ABC's Charlie's Angels pilot. They would join previously cast Annie Ilonzeh to form the new trio of sexy female sleuths - Kelly, whose character will be renamed, Ilonzeh's Kate and Taylor's Abby.
Here's the lowdown on the Angels:
In the current breakdown, the character, previously named Marisa, is described as a former U.S. Marine, a weapons expert trained in all forms of hand-to-head combat and a neat freak.

Taylor's Abby is the youngest and sassiest of the Angels, the beautiful and privileged daughter of a notorious Wall Street crook who is an expert con artist herself as well as a Krav Maga expert.
Interesting, what do you think?

Charlie's Angels are Coming... Back

The show that made million of gays happy, may be back. Charlie's Angels is heading into production.
TV-produced project was originally set up at ABC with a pilot commitment last November with Josh Friedman as a writer. It didn’t go to pilot stage and, after the upfronts, it was put in redevelopment with new writers, Smallville creators/executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar. Back then, it was one of 5 projects put on fast-track development under previous ABC president Steve McPherson.

After McPherson's successor Paul Lee took over in August, there has been chatter that he liked Gough and Millar's script. Top casting director John Papsidera recently was quietly tapped to start some exploratory search for the leads. The project just released an official breakdown and I hear it has locked in Miami as location for the shoot, eyed for January. Gough and Millar are executive producing with Leonard Goldberg, executive producer of the original series, Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen.

This could work, I hope it's diverse.

Charlie's Angels the TV Show?

Did you know there was an Angels '88? FAIL!
Or the never made pilot, Toni's Boys. These guys were kind of a back-up plan from Charlie. No joke.

Well, they are trying again...
ABC is close to giving a pilot order to a modern version of the classic 1970s TV actioner "Charlies Angels."

Josh Friedman, who recently adapted the "Terminator" franchise for his Fox series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," is onboard to write and exec produce the new "Angels."

Also involved are original "Charlies Angels" producer Leonard Goldberg, who launched the series with Aaron Spelling in 1976, as well as Drew Barrymore, who starred in and produced the 2000 film version and its sequel. Sony Pictures TV is the studio.

Insiders said that ABC Entertainment Group topper Steve McPherson is particularly high on this project.

Maybe? Maybe not?
