From Deadline
The CW has bought the music-themed hourlong Prickly Spheres, from writer Matt Goldman as well as Jeff Kwatinetz's production/music management company Prospect Park. The project centers on a talented teen who forgoes classical music scholarship to Julliard to joins a new indie alternative rock band whose quirky but talented members are barely adults themselves. Vision Art-repped Goldman and Kwatinetz are exec producing with Rich Frank and Paul Frank. This is the second music-driven project in the works at CW in addition to Todd Graff/Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas' Acting Out.I'm jumping the gun here, but this is a FAIL in the making. They would be better off remaking Satisfaction

I know that Hollywood can't help but try to jump on the bandwagon, but there are times when they need to acknowledge that some successes are rare and not repeatable.
Even if they could catch the lightning in the bottle as Glee has, is there room in this world for two musical shows?
They need to leave this alone.
But isn't Glee really just a "High School Musical" wannabe? Glee would not be successful if HSM hadn't come before it.
Glee is the HSM formula perfected for people over the age of 12. There really is no comparison.
