First Look: X-Men Anime Design, Cast and Story

Here is the pic of the main characters in the new anime.
The new X-Men anime's voice cast is almost entirely different from the casts that dubbed the 1992-1997 American animated series and the live-action film franchise. However, Koyama is voicing the title character in MADHOUSE's ongoing Wolverine anime series, and Hino had previously dubbed the character Jean Grey into Japanese for the live-action films.
According to Animax and Marvel, the story is set one year after the death of Jean Grey and after the X-MenMen, Professor X, summons his team from all over the globe. The reunited X-Men travel to Japan where they encounter a supremacist cult called the U-Men.

The series will premiere on Animax on April 1. Animax already launched an Iron Man and Wolverine anime, and it is also planning an anime for Marvel's Blade character this summer. The American network G4 plans to begin running these four titles this year. organization has effectively disbanded. However, Hisako Ichiki (Armor) — a mutant middle school girl living in northeastern Japan — has gone missing. An emergency call for help is sent, and the founder of the X-Men. My Top 5 Comic Stories for DC Animated Movies

DC Comics is doing really well in the Animated Movie world. I have been very impressed with the quality and style of these films. In fact, these films have made me fall in love with DC Comics again.

And while I'm lovesick, I want to put out some of my ideas for more DC Comics Movies. So here are my top 5 comic book stories that could be DC's next Animated Films.

The Killing Joke - I think best of the best Batman stories out there

The Judas Contract- This series was a significant moment in the New Teen Titans comics.

The Great Darkness Saga- I never got into the Legion of Super-Heroes, but this storyline is the bomb! It was the first time I saw the true power Darkseid.

The Contest- Wonder Woman lost her title to Artemis. But the reasons behind Artemis' win was the real story.

Identity Crisis - DC's greatest heroes faced their dark past and the beginning more drama to come.

All-Star Superman Comic will be an Animated Movie

DC Entertainment is about to take one of their acclaimed story lines and make it an animated film... All-Star Superman.

Here's more:

"All-Star" is the 10th DC Comics story line to be turned into an original PG-13 movie by Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Home Video. The comic mini-series has won three Eisner Awards, two Harvey Awards and three Eagle Awards.

Written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Frank Quitely, the story begins with the Man of Steel (Denton) oversaturated by radiation during a rescue mission near the sun, accelerating the degeneration of his cells. Knowing that he has a limited time before he dies, Superman sets out on a journey that sees him revealing his secret to Lois Lane (Hendricks), giving Lex Luthor (LaPaglia) an epiphany on humanity and ensuring the safety of Earth for when he is gone.

Bruce Timm will be the executive producer and Dwayne McDuffie wrote the script. The film will be ready in the Spring.

Glee + The Simpsons = Crazy Fun

The Simpsons get a taste of Glee in their next season. Lea Michelle, Cory Monteith and Amber Riley will join Lisa and Bart for an crazy adventure.

Here's the scoop:
In the September 26 episode, when Krusty the Clown is announced as the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, Homer invites Bart to accompany him on a trip to Oslo for the ceremony.

Sensing that Lisa would feel left out, Marge surprises her with a week-long retreat at performing arts camp, where she is greeted by her artsy counselors and fellow musically inclined campers, who inspire her to embrace her creative side.
After she returns to Springfield, Lisa becomes restless with her ho-hum suburban lifestyle and sneaks off to Sprooklyn in hopes of connecting with her inner hipster, but she soon realizes that the city is not the same as camp.

Instead of portraying Finn like in the original series, Monteith is to play Flynn. Beside Michele and him, co-star
is also going to be simpsonized. Together they would sing the reworded version of "Good Vibrations". Meanwhile, and of are guest starring as the counselors.
Should be fun.

First Look: The Cast of Dorothy of Oz

Thanks to SlashFilms.com, I have the character sketches and cast of the new animated film Dorothy of Oz.

This is one of a million "Oz" project coming out in the next couple of years (can you say over-saturation).
Here's some info on the film:
There is trouble in Oz and Dorothy is needed! With Glinda’s help, she and Toto return to Oz. Joined by her old friends the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Lion as well as exciting new characters, Dorothy sets out on a perilous journey to stop the crafty Jester from using the power of the Wicked Witch of the West’s wand to turn the people of Oz into puppets. That seems to be the least of Dorothy’s problems as her travels lead her straight into a treacherous maze, a cave full of very hungry dragons and an evil spell that could destroy the Yellow Brick Road. Dorothy has the daunting knowledge that it is up to her to stop Jester’s terrible plan. Audiences will welcome the return of the old Oz favorites and will love meeting new friends like Tugg a gruff talking boat and Wiser an owl with an unlucky attraction to molasses.

Do you Remember Rock & Rule?

Rock & Rule was and still is one of my favorite animated movies. It's crazy, creative and very out there.

I remember way back (in the 1980s) at my grandmama's house one Friday night. I was watching Night Tracks and got bored with the videos. I looked at the HBO guide and saw Rock & Rule scheduled to play in about 10 or 20 minutes.

After reading the movie info, I was curious and excited. I turned the channel (back then you had to physically turn the channel) to HBO and leaned back on the couch. Once the movie started, I was completely hooked!!

I love the idea that animals were human-like characters and the future was somewhat lost. I also enjoyed the music and theme of the movie. Demons, romance, the hero and the villain... This movie has it all.

I instantly became a fan of Mok, especially after watching this scene...

This movie wasn't a hit, but the true fans pushed it to cult status. If you haven't seen this flick, please check it out. It's fun, creative, sexy and animated... And who doesn't love sexy and mad animation.

Not your Hanna Barbera's Wonder Woman

I just had the pleasure of watching the new Wonder Woman animated DVD. This movie is TRULY AMAZING!

I can't believe how wonderful the story was. It's a bit different than George Perez's version, but it's nothing less than excellent. The Amazons are truly warriors and Diana actually KILLS. Yes, the Diva cracks some necks, beheads, and slices folks up in this movie.

Goddess, I love this version! What took them so long to make this? Oh man, I really feeling this version of Wonder Woman! Please, if you love Wonder Woman...GET THIS DVD!

And also we have to encourage DC Comics to do more great animated movies. These flicks are true to the fans and we get a great story every time.

I f***ing loved this movie!

Wonder Woman is a Hit at New York Comic Con

I'm so excited to get this movie! And people are raving about the Amazing Amazon's flick.

io9 reported:

Indeed, that is the general secret to Wonder Woman's success – the film always manages to strike with its complex elements, whether it's exploring gender relations without sermonizing or embracing Wonder Woman's mythological origins while avoiding too many stilted explanations from the Amazons. The film is also resolutely accessible, requiring no prior knowledge of the characters in a way that wasn't really true of Superman: Doomsday or Justice League: The New Frontier (although there is a cameo at the end that will have any Wonder Woman fans cheering).

Wonder Woman is a film that boldly pushes the DC animated cosmos into more mature territory without sacrificing the sense of joy and, well, wonder that should accompany the introduction of such an iconic character. I can't imagine anyone making a better Wonder Woman movie, although I'd love to see this cast and crew give it a whirl. Bruce Timm mentioned at the panel that, if sales are good enough, there is the possibility of a sequel. I'd be willing to go one better. If ever there was a project deserving of another Timm-helmed animated series, Wonder Woman is it.

This is great news, hopefully this will get the live-action version up and running again.

Should Comic Book movies be animated ONLY?

Question...Would it be better if Comic Book movies were animated instead of live action?

After the drama with Watchmen, and the hype Batman has to live up to, I think this could be an easier route. Imagine the money that could be save from using artists versus actors. Honestly, I believe we could benefit so much from that.

Here are the good things.
  • No egos from actors or studios.
  • The creators can actually tell the story of the comic and stick to what the fans want.
  • The budget will be cheaper and studios will save tons of money.
  • Nothing would be impossible to do...it's animated.
  • The story will be 'THE STORY' for example: The Phoenix Saga would be The Phoenix Saga, not Brett Ratner's mess.
  • The art would be upscale and tight.
  • DC Comics cartoon movies are really good, think about the specific stories that could be told and done right.
  • We could see these movies faster within a year versus four years later.
I really think animated versions of our favorite Comic Book stories would be a great thing. It would be true to the comics and the fans. We wouldn't have sit through studios battling over who has what, actors wanting more money or screen time, and we may get a good story in the end. Just a thought.
