In California: Fair Political Practices Commission will investigate NOM
Fred Karger is coming for NOM in a big way. He has asked the Fair Political Practices Commission to look into NOM's unreported contributions during the rise of Prop 8. The group has agreed to do the investigation.
Little-known GOP presidential candidate Fred Karger asked the commission to look into whether the National Organization for Marriage's "Yes on 8" campaign failed to report $350,400 it received nearly four years ago, including $10,000 from Romney's Alabama super PAC, "Free and Strong America."
Karger's complaint to the FPPC about $37,000 in non-monetary contributions made by the Mormon church to the gay-marriage ban campaign resulted in a $5,500 fine two years ago.
Mormon officials agreed to pay the penalty, but denied the church hid the contributions. Instead, they said, the church had run afoul of daily reporting requirements.
"I'm two for two in California," Karger, who is the lone openly-gay GOP candidate, said in a telephone interview with The Bee's Torey Van Oot, referring to his FPPC complaint against the Mormon church.
A call and an email to the National Organization for Marriage wasn't immediately returned, but the group has said in the past that Karger has illegally put its private tax records in the public domain to press his complaints.NOM should be concerned and scared.
Karger said the documents in question are "absolutely" a part of the public domain and legal to be released.

NOM is LATE on Filing their Taxes Again, Fred Karger looks for Answers
NOM is really late with filing their taxes. In the past, they tried to keep it hidden from the public so we wouldn't find out that maybe the Mormons are supporting them.
Well, they are at it again and Fred Karger went looking for answers.
I recently visited their new National Office in Washington, DC twice during regular office hours to view the returns. No one was there. They must make them available to anyone during regular business hours. We also have checked online repeatedly for their 2009 returns, and again, nothing. What is NOM trying to hide? Why do they not file their tax returns every year?
Déjà Vu
I went through the identical exercise in 2009 when I attempted to view NOM’s 2007 and 2008 990’s, but they never filed those either. We visited their then National Office in Princeton, NJ many times and no one was ever there either.
One set of 990’s was 5 months late. The other set was 17 months late, when finally, the night before NOM President Brian Brown was to testify in front of the Maine Ethics Commission last year, all of their delinquent tax returns magically appeared on the NOM web site.
It was too late to stave off a State of Maine investigation of NOM, because in spite of threatening to sue the State of Maine (which NOM eventually did), the Maine Ethics Commission voted to investigate the National Organization for Marriage for election “Money Laundering.”
NOM is not above the law. They need to file their Income Tax Returns like everyone else and every other organization. We are entitled to see just how much money they raised and spent in 2009. Whom are they trying to protect?
That's the $64,000, who are they really protecting?

NOM's trying to attack Fred Karger

So, NOM has subpoenaed Fred Karger, the leader of Californians Against Hate.
For some reason, they want to see his financial records, all emails, correspondence, faxes, all Californians Against Hate info and his drawls. However, that's funny considering these hell whores won't show their records at all.
But have no fear, Fred has folks coming to help and support him. NOM is only making it easier to bring them down. I believe, if they want Fred's info, then NOM needs to release theirs. If they have nothing to hide, then let us see. Be real, NOM. Who's giving you money?
Like Billie Jean said, "Fair is Fair... We didn't start this, we didn't want this to happen, but we are not giving up".
We will know the truth.
Stay strong, Fred. We got your back!

Mormon church almost spent $200K on Prop 8

So Godlike...The Mormons spent more than they reported for Prop 8. At first, they claimed that they spent less than $2,500 on the campaign.
Well, they lied. They were exposed by Fred Karger, from of Californians Against Hate. He filed his complaint with the FPPC claiming the Mormon church created commercials, Web sites, conducted simulcasts and meetings to California supporters without filing any more financial reports.
The Mormon church said they didn't go over the 'legal' amount. But once the truth was released, we learned they spent close to 200K.
The report, filed with the secretary of state's office, listed a variety of California travel expenses for high-ranking members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and included $20,575 for use of facilities and equipment at the church's Salt Lake City headquarters and a $96,849 charge for "compensated staff time" for church employees who worked on matters pertaining to Prop. 8.
Up until Friday, the Mormon church had denied any direct financial support for the campaign beyond a reported $2,078 spent for bringing church Elder L. Whitney Clayton to California.
Church officials complained that Karger's complaint was full of errors and that the church had "fully complied" with California law.
The report filed Friday contained few details about how the money was spent. It did list $26,000 for audio-visual production and travel expenses for a number of Mormon leaders other than Clayton.
I guess, they did what they had to do to protect marriage...including sinning. Got to love those religious types.
