Conservative Woes over Marriage Equality

Tony Perkins
"Five justices on the Supreme Court have overturned the votes of 50 million Americans and demanded that the American people walk away from millennia of history and the reality of human nature. In reaching a decision so lacking in foundation in the text of the Constitution, in our history, and in our traditions, the Court has done serious damage to its own legitimacy. No court can overturn natural law. Nature and Nature’s God, hailed by the signers of our Declaration of Independence as the very source of law, cannot be usurped by the edict of a court, even the United States Supreme Court. Americans will not stop standing for transcendent truth, nor accept the legitimacy of this decision. Truth is not decided by polls or the passage of time, but by the One who created time and everything that exists therein. We will not lapse into silence but will continue to speak uncompromisingly for the truth about what marriage is, always has been, and always will be: the union of one man and one woman."

Ryan T. Anderson
"Today is a significant setback for all Americans who believe in the Constitution, the rule of law, democratic self-government, and marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The Court got it wrong: it should not have mandated all 50 states to redefine marriage. This is judicial activism: nothing in the Constitution requires the redefinition of marriage, and the Court imposed its judgment about a policy matter that should be decided by the American people and their elected representatives. The Court got marriage and the Constitution wrong today just like they got abortion and the Constitution wrong 42 years ago with Roe v. Wade. Five unelected judges do not have the power to change the truth about marriage or the truth about the Constitution."

Brian Brown
"Though expected, today's decision is completely illegitimate. We reject it and so will the American people. It represents nothing but judicial activism, legislating from the bench, with a bare majority of the Justices on the Supreme Court exercising raw political power to impose their own preferences on marriage when they have no constitutional authority to do so. It is a lawless ruling that contravenes the decisions of over 50 million voters and their elected representatives. It is a decision that is reminiscent of other illegitimate Court rulings such as Dred Scott and Roe v Wade and will further plunge the Supreme Court into public disrepute. Make no mistake about it: The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) and countless millions of Americans do not accept this ruling. Instead, we will work at every turn to reverse it. The US Supreme Court does not have the authority to redefine something it did not create. Marriage was created long before the United States and our constitution came into existence. Our constitution says nothing about marriage. The majority who issued today's ruling have simply made it up out of thin air with no constitutional authority. Today's decision of the Supreme Court lacks both constitutional and moral authority. There is no eternal or natural law that allows for marriage to be redefined." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, in a press release stained with bitter impotent tears.

Bobby Jindal
"The Supreme Court decision today conveniently and not surprisingly follows public opinion polls, and tramples on states’ rights that were once protected by the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. Marriage between a man and a woman was established by God, and no earthly court can alter that. This decision will pave the way for an all out assault against the religious freedom rights of Christians who disagree with this decision. This ruling must not be used as pretext by Washington to erode our right to religious liberty. The government should not force those who have sincerely held religious beliefs about marriage to participate in these ceremonies. That would be a clear violation of America’s long held commitment to religious liberty as protected in the First Amendment. I will never stop fighting for religious liberty and I hope our leaders in D.C. join me.

Rick Santorum

“Today, five unelected justices decided to redefine the foundational unit that binds together our society without public debate or input. Now is the people’s opportunity respond because the future of the institution of marriage is too important to not have a public debate. The Court is one of three co-equal branches of government and, just as they have in cases from Dred Scott to Plessy, the Court has an imperfect track record. The stakes are too high and the issue too important to simply cede the will of the people to five unaccountable justices.
“But leaders don’t accept bad decisions that they believe harm the country, they have the courage of their convictions and lead the country down the better path. Marriage, the family and our children are too central to a healthy society to not fight for what is best. I realized that fact early on and that is why I lead the charge against some in my own party in 2004 to ensure the Federal Marriage Amendment received a vote and I continue to stand for marriage, for families, for freedom.
“As President, I will be committed to using the bully pulpit of the White House to lead a national discussion on the importance to our economy and our culture of mothers and fathers entering into healthy marriages so that every child is given their birthright- to be raised by their mother and father in a stable, loving home. I will stand for the preservation of religious liberty and conscience, to believe what you are called to believe free from persecution. And I will ensure that the people will have a voice in decisions that impact the rock upon which our civilization is built.”

Bobby Jindal issues an Executive Order for Religious Freedom

Bobby Jindal just reached a new low.

After losing the battle to have this raggedy religious freedom law HB 707 died, he decides to just push through an executive order and redefine what a person is check out this piece from the executive order:
the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act contains virtually identical language toprohibit the federal government from imposing a substantial burden upon a person’sexercise of religion absent a compelling governmental interest and a showing that theaction taken is the least restrictive means of furthering that compelling governmentalinterest;WHEREAS, in June, 2014, the United States Supreme Court, in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.,134 S.Ct. 2751 (2014), expressly held that the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Actof 1993 prohibits the federal government from requiring a “person” to act incontravention of a sincerely held religious belief, and that the definition of “person”includes individuals, non-profit, or for-profit corporations;
He thinks this will push him as a top candidate for president, however according to the numbers of people who are against religious freedom law, he's basically shot himself in the foot. It's also interesting that in 2014 he lashed out against President Obama for using an executive order funny how that just seems it slipped his mind when he decided to do this today.

READ Bobby Jindal's Op Ed: I’m Holding Firm Against Gay Marriage

From the NYT
THE debate over religious liberty in America presents conservatives and business leaders with a crucial choice.

In Indiana and Arkansas, large corporations recently joined left-wing activists to bully elected officials into backing away from strong protections for religious liberty. It was disappointing to see conservative leaders so hastily retreat on legislation that would simply allow for an individual or business to claim a right to free exercise of religion in a court of law.

Our country was founded on the principle of religious liberty, enshrined in the Bill of Rights. Why shouldn’t an individual or business have the right to cite, in a court proceeding, religious liberty as a reason for not participating in a same-sex marriage ceremony that violates a sincerely held religious belief?

That is what Indiana and Arkansas sought to do. That political leaders in both states quickly cowered amid the shrieks of big business and the radical left should alarm us all.

As the fight for religious liberty moves to Louisiana, I have a clear message for any corporation that contemplates bullying our state: Save your breath.

Bobby Jindal says Yes to Guns in Church

I guess you can have a shotgun wedding.

This is a hot ass mess. Thanks to Huckleberry Hound, you can bring a gun up in church.
Jindal's office said Tuesday the governor acted on the bill in the past few days after receiving it June 20.

Including the "gun-in-church" bill, House Bill 1272 by Rep. Henry Burns, R-Haughton, Jindal has signed into law 940 of the 1,067 bills the Legislature sent him, vetoed 12, and used his pen to line-item spending measures in four different budget bills.

Burns' bill would authorize persons who qualified to carry concealed weapons having passed the training and background checks to bring them to churches, mosques, synagogues or other houses of worship as part of a security force.

Huckleberry Hound Lied in his GOP Speech

I knew it! There was some else fishy about Bobby Jindal's speech!

Huckle said he was standing right next to Sheriff Harry Lee during Katrina trying to help the abandoned people. It was mentioned during that whole 'arrest me' part of his speech.

During Katrina, I visited Sheriff Harry Lee, a Democrat and a good friend of mine. When I walked into his makeshift office I'd never seen him so angry. He was yelling into the phone: 'Well, I'm the Sheriff and if you don't like it you can come and arrest me!' I asked him: 'Sheriff, what's got you so mad?' He told me that he had put out a call for volunteers to come with their boats to rescue people who were trapped on their rooftops by the floodwaters. The boats were all lined up ready to go - when some bureaucrat showed up and told them they couldn't go out on the water unless they had proof of insurance and registration. I told him, 'Sheriff, that's ridiculous.' And before I knew it, he was yelling into the phone: 'Congressman Jindal is here, and he says you can come and arrest him too!' Harry just told the boaters to ignore the bureaucrats and start rescuing people.

Anyway, that part didn't happen. This part did: Jindal wasn't there at the big story moment, he spoke to the Sheriff after the fact.

However Jindal's team is consistently trying to 'fix' this story and making him look more like a big ole liar.

The nerve of that hound.

Bobby Jackal Truly Had NOTHING to Say

This was a mess. He had nothing to say and it was a big waste of time. First, he talks about his humble beginnings and he mentioned something about being arrested. Then he talked about slavery, Louisiana 9/11, Katrina and the Wrath of Khan. (not really)

Y'all can see this crap for yourselves, but I swear, it was like Huckleberry Hound stepped on stage to sing 'Oh My Darin' Clementine'

Bobby, forget running in 2012. I rather have Moose Mess.

IS THIS THE BEST YOU CAN DO, GOP?

Bobby Jindal is worst choice for the GOP

Perhaps the worst Presidential hopeful, Bobby Jindal, has semi-sealed his fate. This asshole refused the stimulus money that would expanded state unemployment insurance coverage for the people who are suffering in Louisiana.

Why would this cretin do this? Well, he is so
worried that expanding unemployment insurance coverage would lead to increased unemployment insurance taxes in the future. But what proof does he have...NONE.

He said: "
The federal money in this bill will run out in less than three years for this benefit and our businesses would then be stuck paying the bill. We cannot grow government in an unsustainable way.”

Really...how do you know that, 'Booby'. The money Louisiana has been receiving (for Katrina relief) should have set Louisiana up for financial stability. This stimulus money could get them on a strong path. But no, he wants to set himself up as a strong leader and GOP presidential candidate...And the people of Louisiana has to suffer because of that.

The people need that money! The 9th ward still looks like a holocaust and there are people scattered across the country, still hoping to come home. To deny them of that money is clearly a sh***y thing to do, Booby. This will be one of your biggest mistakes. I hope you can face your people every time you hear about businesses shutting down or houses failing into foreclosure.

But there is hope, Ray Nagin, the mayor of New Orleans, plans on taking the money and applying it to the state. And by law, he can do it:

"He thinks he's been tapped as the up-and-coming Republican. He'll potentially run for it (the presidency) the next time it goes around. So he has a certain vernacular and a certain way he needs to talk right now. I don't think it's going to impede us, because Rep. [James] Clyburn basically said if a governor does not want this money, the legislator can vote to accept the money. I told the governor personally, any dollar he does not want, we will take them gladly."

GOP, if you want to get ahead...drop Booby!
