Why did the Cops shoot Darrien Hunt 6 Times over a Toy Sword?

Cosplay is a part of the geek culture. Many of my fellow peeps dress up as the favorite Sci-Fi, Anime ,Comic book, and lit characters to express their appreciation of them.

However, I never thought that it would cost someone their life.

Last week in Saratoga Springs, Utah, 22-year old Darrien Hunt was dressed as his favorite amine character Mugen from Samurai Champloo. He was heading to Panda Express for food, when someone called the cops on him. The pic below is what Darrien looked like before the cops reached him.

Here's where the info gets interesting. When the cops arrived, Darren was shot 4 to 6 times! Darrien didn't attack anyone or threaten anyone. So why was he shot? Check out this news clip

Do I believe this? I do, sadly I do and here's why. Saratoga Springs isn't very diverse. The majority of the residents are White, in fact 90% White. Also, the way Darrien was killed reinforces how Black men are viewed by cops in towns like this.

The cops claimed that Darrien lunged at them, but other reports said that Darrien was shot in the back. It seems to be some issues with the story of Darrien's death.

Hopefully, the truth will come out... Soon.

I totally agree with you about why he was shot. At the same time, we have to be careful about carrying weapons, even toy ones.

I worry about that because I may dress up as either Deathstroke or Huntress for Halloween.

They really expect people to believe that a guy with a toy plastic sword lunged at police armed with a gun? How stupid do they think we are?

I just want to know what's going on with the world we live in and the people in it and what the hell is wrong with our justice system that the innocent die for no reason and the guilty don't get punished.
