Why are they still Trying to make Friday the 13th part 2?

They won't let this idea die!! Word on the street is we may see a "Found Footage" version a F13 sequel. Here's the mess:

Last we heard, a sequel penned by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift had not yet been given the green light. Needless to say, I was surprised to hear that a follow-up was possibly being re-tooled to match the "found footage" fad that horror has been latching onto, especially after Apollo 18's dismal box office performance. (Time will soon tell if audiences will respond to Paranormal Activity 3 and if the "found footage" sub-genre has legs.)

Brad Fuller at Platinum Dunes assured us today, however, that there is still no movement on any sort on sequel to Dunes' 2009 production. He would not confirm or deny the company was fielding ideas from other writers. "There's no other place I'd rather be than Crystal Lake right now," he told us.

One has to remember that, beyond Platinum Dunes, a few entities need to agree to another Friday the 13th, including Paramount, New Line and Sean Cunningham. Until they align and the studios give a green light, don't expect a sequel.

Most good-minded Horror fans don't want this. Please let this die in peace.

Who Asked for This?: Titanic 2

That's it! I'm shutting some of these movie studio down!

Somebody has actually finished the movie... Titanic 2! No joke!

The Asylum, the direct-to-dvd production company responsible for producing cheap knock-offs of the latest big budget Hollywood movies (termed “Knockbusters) has just finished production on Titanic 2.

And here's the plot synopsis...
On the 100th anniversary of the original voyage, a modern luxury liner christened “Titanic 2,” follows the path of its namesake. But when a tsunami hurls an ice berg into the new ship’s path, the passengers and crew must fight to avoid a similar fate.
If this can get made, my movie can get made too.

Who asked for this?: Watchmen 2?

This is blasphemy!

Alan Moore's masterpiece may get slaughtered under foolishness and greed.

There are talks for a Watchmen 2.

But the news broke that Paul Levitz was stepping down from DC Comics as both President and Publisher, I wondered what that meant for the possibility of a Watchmen sequel. Certainly in a hundred years, you couldn’t expect there not to be one.

Well, it seems to be happening a lot sooner than I thought. I understand now that this considered a pet project of Dan DiDio, SVP-Executive Editor. That he is determined to impress new bosses by building on DC’s biggest selling comic book of all time with multiple prequel comic miniseries and spinoff ongoing projects.

I understand that both Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons have to be offered first refusal before any of these titles could be published. But if they don’t want to work on them themselves (and Alan Moore is never going to agree), DiDio has been sounding out people who might be willing to take on the task.

NO! Leave it alone! Move on to the next comic! NO, NO, NO!!

btw, I love Bleeding Cool

By the Goddess... DO NOT make Paranormal Activity 2!

I knew it, I knew it!

Greed always grinds good ideas into mush. Because Paranormal Activity is a success, they (Paramount) want to make a sequel.

Paramount Pictures is hoping so, as the studio is actively considering producing a sequel to "Paranormal Activity," the out-of-the-blue horror flick that cost $15,000 to produce and has sold $62.5 million worth of tickets so far domestically.

"We have the rights on a worldwide basis to do 'Paranormal 2' and we're looking to see if that makes some sense," Paramount Chairman Brad Grey said in an interview today.

Well, it don't. How can a sequel come from that? Do they remember the malarkey called Blair Witch: Book of Shadows... Omega Fail.

Just leave it alone, let it be a mystery, let this movie's ending be an mystery. There's no need to ruin it with a glossy sequel that sucks. Just let it be.

If I wrote it, I want it to end the way I want it to end. I would turn down the money for the sake of the story. If I didn't plan for a sequel, I won't do it.

I hope the folks behind the movie won't let this happen.

You Can't do it without Nomi Malone!

Can this be real? Showgirls 2? Maybe.

The Advocate reports the news...

The project is currently known as Showgirls: Story of Hope. The title references the name of one of the original movie’s minor characters.

Actress Rena Riffel, who played Hope in the 1995 camp classic and more recently had a recurring role on the here! Networks series Dante's Cove, is set to reprise her role.

I took my residents to see Showgirls as my first RA program in 1995. I loved/still love the campy lust-ridden story line.

I tried for years to do the "Nomi Malone" dance to make a guy cream in his pants... It only happened once.

Do you know there's a Sequel to The Wizard of Oz coming?

I am floored! A sequel?
Well, there was Return to Oz in the 80s with my favorite witch, Fairuza Balk, but this is totally different.

This story will involve the granddaughter of Dorothy, may be played by Dakota Fanning.
Dakota Fanning could be poised to don the ruby slippers for a sequel to The Wizard of Oz. But be warned, the studio is claiming this new version will be "darker and more action-packed" than the original 1939 musical.

The Wizard of Oz starred Judy Garland as Dorothy, a Kansas farm-girl who finds herself whisked to a technicolor world of munchkins and witches. By contrast, the Warner Bros remake will play out in the present day and chart the adventures of Dorothy's feistier granddaughter.

"You've still got Dorothy trapped in an odd place," explains co-producer Todd McFarlane. "But she's much closer to the Ripley character from Alien, than a helpless singing girl."

Interesting to say the least. I'll keep y'all posted.

Heathers 2?

Really? Can we handle it?

The movie that's loosely based from my life may have a sequel in the works. But don't take it from me, take it from Winona Ryder herself.
Winona Ryder has confirmed rumors that first surfaced in 2006 and have been doing the rounds ever since: there’s a sequel being worked on to the 1989 cult classic Heathers.

“Whatever you hear, there is a sequel in the works. I swear to God,” Ryder told Us Weekly. “But for some reason the writer Dan Waters and director Michael Lehman don’t want to talk about it. I’ve been wanting to do a sequel forever. There is a story, and Christian [Slater] has agreed to come back as a kind of Obi-Wan character.”

Wow...I don't know what to say. Oh...Lick it up, baby. Lick it up.
