Blue Dances with Wolves and Hurt Locker leads Oscars

Great Hera! First Taylor Swift wins Record of the Year for a CD no one knew about and now, "Avatar" leads Oscars noms?
Alright, I'll stop complaining... Here are the Best Picture noms:
"District 9"
"Up"
"Inglourious Basterds"
"The Blind Side" really?
"Up in The Air"
"A Serious Man"
"An Education"
"Precious"
"Avatar"
"The Hurt Locker"
Les Daniels got his 1st nom for Best Director, making him the 2nd Black director nominated ever.
I am happy to see "District 9" in the mix. If a Sci Fi movie was going to be nominated, it should this one.
Mo'Nique was given the Best Supporting Actress nom... She has come a long way, y'all. From "Soul Plane" to this. Gabourey Sidibe also received Best Actress nom for her role in "Precious".
For Best Actor, we have:
George Clooney for "Up in the Air"
Jeff Bridges for "Crazy Heart"
Morgan Freeman in "Invictus"
Colin Firth in "A Single Man" and
Jeremy Renner in "The Hurt Locker" BTW Jeremy has come a long way too, with his fine self.

Best Actress:
Meryl Streep in "Julie & Julia"
Helen Mirren in "The Last Station"
Carey Mulligan for "An Education"
Gabourey Sidibe in "Precious"
Sandra Bullock for "The Blind Side"

Supporting Actors Rule!

Congrats to the Supporting Actor/Actresses in today's Oscar nominations! Heath for The Dark Knight; Viola Davis, Doubt; and my girl, Taraji P. Henson, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
And speaking of Button, this movie has 13 noms followed by Slumdog Millionaire with 10 noms. However, poor Leonardo DiCaprio; he was shut out from any noms, and The Dark Knight didn't get the best movie nod, but that's okay it was still a good movie.
Here's more about the Oscars
