Kevin Clash Cleared of Sexual Abuse Charges

Some good news.

Kevin Clash, known for the voice of Sesame Street‘s Elmo has been cleared of the three sexual abuse charges due to a statute of limitations law by the U.S. Court of Appeals from last July.

Some may remember that Kevin was accused of sexually molesting a few men who were underage at the time, however each of these folks had a bad history that dented their credibility. Not saying it couldn't had happened, but their lives were quite interesting to say the least.

Anyway, the mess is almost done. One case is reportedly still pending, the Sheldon Stephens case.

Kevin Clash Resigns from Sesame Street

This hurts to report, but after all the scandal and mess, Kevin Clash quits Sesame Street.

The show released a statement:

Sesame Workshop’s mission is to harness the educational power of media to help all children the world over reach their highest potential. Kevin Clash has helped us achieve that mission for 28 years, and none of us, especially Kevin, want anything to divert our attention from our focus on serving as a leading educational organization.

Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding Kevin’s personal life has become a distraction that none of us want, and he has concluded that he can no longer be effective in his job and has resigned from Sesame Street. This is a sad day for Sesame Street.

This is a sad day for many of us.

Alaina Reed (Olivia from Sesame Street) has died

Alaina Reed, known as Olivia from Sesame Street from 1976 to 1988 and Rose in 227 has passed away.

Earlier today, it was reported that Sesame Street's Alaina Reed, who played Olivia, Gordon's younger sister, passed away. This news is incredibly sad for fans of the show, who will remember Alaina appearing on Sesame Street from 1976 to 1988, as well as starring in two of Sesame Street's most famous productions, Christmas Eve on Sesame Street and Follow That Bird. We wish our deepest condolences to Alaina's family and friends and we hope she has found peace.
