Michael C. Hall explains why he enjoys playing Gay Characters

Michael talks to HuffPo about his role as Hedwig and why he likes gay roles:
I don't know. I feel like I choose roles, and I also feel like roles choose me at times. I think I gravitate toward characters who are defined by some sense of conflict or secret keeping. I think in the case of David Fisher [on Six Feet Under], it was about the character's inherent conflict -- something that made him inherently dramatic. In case of Hedwig, it was the chance to front a rock band and sing awesome rock-and-roll music. There is something about people, for one reason or the other, who are marginalized by their circumstance that is compelling to me. That has manifested itself into me playing a few, or more than a few, characters who are gay.

Dexter's Michael C. Hall to become Hedwig on Broadway

'Dexter' star will become the next Hedwig.

Actor Michael C. Hall will take over the main role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

As most of you know, Neil Patrick Harris kicked off the role and Andrew Rannells took over for a limited run. Michael will start in October and finish off in January. I've never thought of him as a Broadway star, but I'm sure he will do a good job.

Michael C. Hall is being treated for Cancer

Michael C. Hall, best known for his roles as David in Six Feet Under and Dexter in Dexter, is being treated for Cancer.

"I feel fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition, and I thank my doctors and nurses for their expertise and care," Hall, 38, said Wednesday in a statement.

The actor was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is part of the body's immune system. The disease is considered highly treatable with the potential for full recovery.

Craig Bankey, a spokesman for the actor, said the cancer is in complete remission and Hall's treatment will continue as planned.

I sending good vibes his way.
