Jason Collins' Jersey makes Record Sales

Folks are coming out to support Jason Collins! In fact, his jersey got a huge boost of sales!

Washington Wizards center Jason Collins’ jerseys got a boost in online sales after he became the first openly gay athlete on a major U.S. team sport. 

Team spokesman Scott Hall told ABC News that 100 percent of custom jerseys ordered from the team’s online store bore Collins’ name and number, 98, on the back, after Collins revealed his homosexuality in an article published on Sports Illustrated’s website on Monday.

Another reason why his jersey is so special has to do with the number 98. That number represents the year Matthew Shepard was murdered. Jason mentioned that was a significant moment for him.

Foolishness Alert: ESPN's Chris Broussard said: Jason Collins Is Not ‘A Christian’

This is some mess served on a dirty plate. This Chris Broussard had the nerve to say this:

Personally, I don’t believe that you can live an openly homosexual lifestyle or an openly, like premarital sex between heterosexuals. If you’re openly living that type of lifestyle, then the Bible says you know them by their fruits. It says that, you know, that’s a sin. If you’re openly living in unrepentant sin, whatever it may be, not just homosexuality, whatever it maybe, I believe that’s walking in open rebellion to God and to Jesus Christ. So I would not characterize that person as a Christian because I don’t think the bible would characterize them as a Christian.

NBA player Jason Collins comes Out!

NBA player Jason Collins has made history by being the 1st out basketball player.

He comes out through Sports Illustrated, sharing his story and reasons:

I'm a 34-year-old NBA center. I'm black. And I'm gay. 

I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I'm happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn't the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, "I'm different." If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I'm raising my hand. 

My journey of self-discovery and self-acknowledgement began in my hometown of Los Angeles and has taken me through two state high school championships, the NCAA Final Four and the Elite Eight, and nine playoffs in 12 NBA seasons.
