In France: Parliament legalizes Marriage Equality
All that protesting against gay marriage in France, and NOM's foolishness in Paris was a bust. The deputies in the National Assembly legalized gay marriage today. In a vote of 331-225, the bill passed!
The most noted part of this historic event was when the Speaker told the anti-gay protesters in hall: "Get these enemies of democracy outside parliament!"
Yesss! I would have said it too, but like this, in the X-Men cartoon Storm voice "Get these demons of bigotry out of the Halls of Equality!"
Yeah, that's a bit much.

In France: The first article of the Bill on Gay Marriage was Passed
With 179 to 157 votes, the Senate approved the first article of the bill on gay marriage, which opens the marriage to same sex couples.
Here's more:
The vote came after more than 10 hours of discussion on this article in which the right against the bill scrapped by multiplying the catch words in an electric atmosphere. "Despite attempts to obstruct the right, the Senate just adopt Article 1 which allows same-sex couples to marry, "said the group's president PS François Rebsamen , in a statement after the vote.France is clearly on their way to Marriage Equality. Can you imagine getting married in Paris?
"The adoption of this article by a vote of the entire Senate majority, puts an end to the discrimination that resulted from sexual choices of citizens," he added. "Given the abuses that took place either by manifestations of violence in the street, either by verbal excesses in the chamber, the vote on this article marks a victory for the fight against homophobia, tolerance and the of democracy, "

Over 100,000 Supporters come out for Gay Marriage in France
Last week, hate leader Brian Brown was so excited about the anti-gay marriage protest in France.
Well, I guess his bubble is busted because over 100,000 gay marriage supporters took the streets of Paris.
NYT reports
Demonstrators waved banners emblazoned with phrases like “Equality of rights is not a threat” and chanted: “What do you want? Equality! When do you want it? Now!” Another placard showed a version of the French government’s seal, but with two Mariannes kissing. Under the words “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” was the slogan “No more, no less!”This is good to know. Now maybe Brian will stay out France.
According to the police, the march attracted about 125,000 people, twice the number that took part in a similar demonstration in mid-December. Two weeks ago, a rally by those opposed to the proposal drew what the police said were 340,000 people into the streets of Paris.
François Hollande, the Socialist president, promised during his campaign to legalize gay marriage within a year of taking office in May 2012. And with effective majorities in both houses of Parliament, Mr. Hollande and his government should be able to beat back various efforts by opponents to kill or amend the bill. It has been suggested that even given the long legislative process, the bill could become law as early as May.

Interesting Quote: Don Thompson - McDonald's COO

It is an example that markets, cultures are very different around the world. (For instance), I've never shied away from the fact that I'm a Christian. I have my own personal beliefs and I don't impose those on anybody else. I've been in countries where the majority of the people in the country don't believe in a deity or they may be atheist. Or the majority of the country is Muslim. Or it may be the majority is much younger skewed. So when you look at all these differences, it's not that I'm to be the judge or the jury relative to right or wrong. Having said that, at McDonald's, there are core values we stand for and the world is getting much closer. So we have a lot of conversations. We're going to make some mistakes at times. (We talk) about things that may have an implication in one part of the world and may be the cultural norm in another part of the world. And those are things that, yes, we're going to learn from. But, you're right, that commercial won't show in the United States.
His views on why the French gay ad will not run here in the US.

Cigarettes + Oral Sex in France = This

They ain't playing in France.
The Association for Nonsmokers' Rights created some ads that caused some drama. As you can see, they have a teenage boy or girl in an interesting position with a cigarette in their mouths.
Yes, you know what it looks like (some of us know all too well ;-) )
The caption reads, "Smoking means being a slave to tobacco."
The group wanted these ads to shock folks and to get young peeps talking. Well, now they got the world talking.
I think the ads are cute. What about y'all?
