In North Carolina: Gay Marriage applications to be accepted in Buncombe County

North Carolina is buzzing!

In Buncombe County, the Register of Deeds, Drew Reisinger is doing something daring. He's going to accept marriage license applications from gay couples, however, he can't sign them. According to news sites, he will seek advice from Attorney General Roy Cooper.

The interesting piece about the 'Advisor' Cooper is just the other day, he came out in support of gay marriage.

But for now, they will need to hold the applications. Cooper issued a letter that halts the process. Basically, the state Constitution bans gay marriage. Until that ban is removed, nothing can be done.

Regardless of the halt, this is some interesting progress in North Carolina. I'm very excited to see how this plays out.
