For a long long time, this type of stuff elected presidents, senators, congressmen and governors. Those days are now past. Because of the changing demographics, this dog doesn't hunt anymore. To Colin Powell's point if tthe Republican party doesn't take a long look at it's platform and make some changes, they're in for a very rude awakening.
Oh well...it sucks to be a diehard Republican nowadays because of the overt racism and xenophobia.
