Chris Evans appears as Captain America at Seattle Children's Hospital

A couple of months ago, actors Chris Pratt and Chris Evans made a bet about their favorites teams winning the Super Bowl. When the dust settled... Well, somebody's team won, but the big winners were these kids.

Chris Pratt dressed up as Starlord about a month ago, and now, Chris Evans dressed up as Captain America to meet the patients of the Seattle Children's Hospital.

Thinking they are adding diversity to their ranks, Fox News hires the anti-gay heifer Alveda King.

Here's more:
Fox president Roger Ailes announced today. King will provide regular social and cultural commentary across the network lineup.

“Alveda has brilliantly carried the legacy of the King family to the next generation and has been a source of inspiration for many Americans," Ailes said in making the announcement. "Her passion and mission for social change will be a valuable contribution to our network.”
Here is some of Alveda's accomplishments

  • An anti-abortion activist
  • A director of African-American outreach at Priests for Life

  • Called Coretta Scott King a liar

Over 300 Republican Leaders signed the Supreme Court Brief in support of Gay Marriage

This is interesting news.
Over 300 prominent Republicans filed a friend of the court brief to SCOTUS in support of  marriage equality.

TIME reports:

The amicus brief, organized by former Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman, was filed for the four same-sex marriage cases the Court will hear on April 28 that could legalize the unions nationwide. In 2013, Mehlman marshaled a similar effort for the case that overturned California’s Proposition 8, which had banned same-sex marriage in the state.

Among the signatories are 23 current and former Republicans members of the House of Representatives and Senate and seven current and former Governors. Sens. Susan Collins and Mark Kirk have signed onto the brief, as has Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman. Other notables include former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal and billionaire GOP mega-donor David Koch.

The 2013 brief included 131 signatures, featured many former top aides to Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, including his general counsel and two senior advisors. The list has now grown to 303 signatories.

Wow, I'm somewhat surprised.

This is the 50th Anniversary of the March in Selma

In 1965, about 600 people got together in Selma on Sunday, March 7, to march  on the Edmund Pettus Bridge over the Alabama River to Montgomery. However, they were harassed and attacked by Alabama State troopers and local police. Over fifty people were hospitalized after this horrible incident. This was known as Bloody Sunday.
