I just read an interesting story about an A&F shoot going very, very far. A model named Benjamine Bowers was asked to jack off in front of Brian Hilburn (the modeling agent) to achieve a "relaxed look" at A&F photo shoot.

Well, the model actually stripped down and masturbated on set. When it was done, Hilburn whipped out his cock and talked about their cock sizes. I don't know what was said or done after that moment but Benjamine was shocked and embarrassed. Now he is suing A&F.

This sounds like some type of porn script or a story from a CW series! But seriously, can he really sue? And is this a standard procedure on A&F photo sets? I wonder if this has happened more than once? I see a scandal coming on and possibly the fall of A&F.

But something is wrong when huge companies push gay marriage into children's literature in order to make money. Something is wrong when a comic book store decides to host a wedding, again for commercial purposes. And something is really wrong when a man proposes because, well, somebody else is going to help pay for the wedding and it might mean a cool trip to New York City.

Somewhere there may be some foolish man and woman getting married in a comic book store. But nobody else is paying for it and nobody in the media is covering it.

Are we really supposed to believe in the "sanctity" of gay comic book weddings?

Dan Savage and F-Word: The Responses

So I wrote a piece about Dan Savage and his use of the F-word. I had a lot responses via e-mail and Twitter, but a good chunk of them were defending Dan.

I have to say I was shocked, mostly by the reasons they were giving me.

- Some were saying that it was fair because it was a gay man addressing another gay man.
- Or that Dan has done so much for us that he can say whatever he wants.
- And he should go after GOProud, they deserved it.

Well, that's cute, but not good reasons. In fact, they are cheap excuses I have to address.

1.  I think it's horrible for a gay person to attack another gay person with the F-word. It's done out of anger and it's geared to hurt.
2. Dan is not the gay messiah, so stop treating him like one. He's just an outspoken sex columnist. There are far more effective leaders in our community with more accomplishments and less foot-in-mouthritis.
3. And this ain't about GOProud. It was interesting to see how folks blamed GOProud on why Dan used the F-word. It's not their fault, it's Dan's. He wasn't thinking and he said something stupid. Pure and simple.
4. Stop trying to make Dan the victim, just hold him accountable.
5. Defending him opens the door to the Double Standard room. And there's no integrity in the Double Standard room.

 I know he's a hero to some, but heroes have their flaws. In order for them to be better at their game, they have to grow from their mistakes. And if you are a true fan of his, you should help him do better.

Activist Group to Protest San Francisco's Gay Pride Parade

A group of activists called OccuPride plans to disrupt San Francisco's gay pride parade this Sunday. Their main reason for the disruption is to call out corporations and politicians for their fair-weather support to the LGBT community.

In a report from SFist, Scott Rossi, an OccuPride organizer, explained in more detail who they are and the purpose of their protest.

OccuPride is a grassroots, radical queer response to the commercialization of the LGBTQI community. It is not an attack on Pride itself, nor the Parade, as both are an important symbol of the progress we have made. Speaking for myself, I've wanted to do something like this for years because we shouldn't be celebrating that companies are lining up to sell us stuff and pinkwashing everything under the guise of how much they love us and such. They don't love us or they'd be spending their lobbying dollars on making sure we have access to life saving medicine, food, houses to live in and a planet that's not dying.

At the same time, we shouldn't be deifying companies and politicians that actively work against SF Pride's theme of GLOBAL EQUALITY. Don't forget Willie Brown, the Lifetime Grand Marshall is famous for saying 'anyone who doesn't make $50,000 a year doesn't have a right to live in SF. And even more shocking, many of the companies that are featured sponsors, like Wells Fargo, actively work and lobby against Global Equality at home, abroad and within the LGBTQI community. How many of our people have been displaced due to the economic collapse? How many of our people have been denied lifesaving health insurance because of preexisting conditions? This is why I started Occupying last fall, this is why I helped organize and outreach for OccuPride. We're fighting for those that can't fight for themselves, and fighting for those that will come later. These companies and their poisonous, odious Politician lackeys aren't going to go away and they're only going to get worse.

I find this very interesting. I understand that the community depends on these corporations for sponsorships and what not, however, where is the support before and after the annual pride parades and events?
