Music Artist Nhojj promises that Things will get Better with his latest single

Gay Singing Sensation, Nhojj makes a great new song for the gay youth.

With a simple song recorded on his Apple computer, award-winning gay artist Nhojj joins the ranks of President Barak Obama, Laura Bush and thousands of others in offering a message of hope to gay youth experiencing bullying and abuse. The name of the song is "Things Will Get Better." 

Nhojj wrote "Things Will Get Better" after the recent rash of suicides by gay youth. “At first I didn’t know what to do,” Nhojj says,"but thankfully I came across the “It Gets Better Project.” The project was started by media pundit Dan Savage, with the idea of young people and adults sharing their experiences to help teens realize that it does get better. "I just knew I had to share my story," Nhojj says, "and this was the best way I knew how – through music."

Nhojj suggests other musicians and artists join in and create their own messages of hope. "You never know who needs to hear this right now," he says.

I've been following Nhojj for awhile and he always amazes me.

It's an unlikely phenomenon for a gay anthem to grab the #1 spot on a Reggae chart, reggae music having unleashed much homophobia. But it is not the first time for Nhojj. His gay music video "Love" hit the #1 spot on the mainstream MTV Music Top 100 chart earlier this year. And last year BET/Centric congratulated him on being "a black history and a gay history first!"

This time around Nhojj targets homophobia, and donates proceeds to the Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination (SASOD), an LGBT Rights organization in Guyana. In writing "The Gay Warrior Song" Nhojj invokes scripture in the name "Jah" (a term for God, widely used in reggae music) as his higher authority.

Nhojj makes OUTMusic Awards History

I'm so late on this, so I apologize.

Indie recording artist Nhojj made history at the OUTMusic Awards. He became the first Black male to receive 2009 Outstanding R&B/Soul Song of the Year by The Alliance of LGBT Recording Artists & Performers.

His winning song is called "Love", please check it out
