This ain't Deathwish!

In Texas, they keep foolishness running like water. Joe Horn called 911 on some robbers at his neighbor's house. But instead of waiting for the cops, he loads up his rifle and shot them.

Then the interesting part, he's cleared of all charges. Now, I know people think he did the right thing, but really he didn't. He could've been killed, or an innocent person could have been hurt. And who does he think he is? He wasn't in danger, they wasn't even thinking about him. The 911 call is the scariest thing, because you can hear him as he made up his mind to kill them. In fact, he said that he was going to do it.

To let him go did 2 things. One, sent a terrible message about guns and when to use them. Second, this man will never be safe. Horn made himself a target for life. People won't forget what he did. While he has supporters, he also have people who hate him. And they can use that to confront him someday. So Joe, be careful.

I'm from Australia but I actually did see this story on the news and heard the 911 call. What I found shocking about the whole thing, apart from the obvious, is the fact the shooter went outside and shouted at the thieves as though he were getting off on the thrill of what he was about to do. From what I heard he shot them in the back as they were trying to get away. Not exactly a brave move.

I don't condone what the thieves did in any way, but it definitely was not a case of self-defence. It was vigilante, cowboy tactics and he should have to take responsibility for what he did.

Best Wishes,
Zathyn

Your blog is AWESOME. Jem is Truly Outrageous!

Oh Charles Bronson. . . Hipsters do love him, apparently. Bronson is hipster slang for, beer. As in, "Hey don't spill my Bronson!" We're doing a little sketch about Hipsters this weekend, in our variety show! Lordy. . .
