USA TODAY: Trump is 'unfit for the presidency'

For the first time in 34 years, USA TODAY came out against Donald Trump.
Yesterday, they published, "Don’t vote for Trump."
This year, the choice isn’t between two capable major party nominees who happen to have significant ideological differences. This year, one of the candidates — Republican nominee Donald Trump — is, by unanimous consensus of the Editorial Board, unfit for the presidency.

From the day he declared his candidacy 15 months ago through this week’s first presidential debate, Trump has demonstrated repeatedly that he lacks the temperament, knowledge, steadiness and honesty that America needs from its presidents.
They break in down in several points and they're pretty good reasons too. So, check out the editorial, it's golden.

Hillary SHADES Trump on microphone conspiracy theory - WATCH

Hillary Clinton on Tuesday took a scathing parting shot at Donald Trump, who floated a conspiracy theory that his microphone was tampered with ahead of Monday’s presidential debate.

The Republican presidential nominee told “Fox and Friends” in a phone interview Tuesday morning that he was having problems with his microphone the night before. “I don’t know if you saw that in the room, but my microphone was terrible. I wonder, was it set up that way on purpose?” Trump said.

After a brief gaggle with reporters aboard her campaign plane later in White Plains, New York, Clinton turned back toward the crowd of reporters to take one final question after initially saying “thank you” and walking away.
While the question itself is unclear, a woman can be heard asking about a microphone.

“Anybody who complains about the microphone is not having a good night,” Clinton quipped as she walked away from reporters, this time for good.

Interesting Quote: President Obama

“Be yourself and explain what motivates you. Because, I will tell you, I’ve gotten to know Hillary, and seen her work, and seen her in tough times and in good times. She’s in this for the right reasons. I think there’s a reason why we haven’t had a woman president before, and so she’s having to break down some barriers. There is a level of mistrust and a caricature of her that just doesn’t jibe with who I know, this person that cares deeply about kids.”

“American Male” takes a look at toxic masculinity

This is an interesting short film about toxic masculinity and how it affects men.

Here's more
Filmmaker Michael Rohrbaugh told The Huffington Post that he wanted to showcase the ways in which young, American men navigate a culture of overcompensation to “prove their manhood,” resulting in a heavy psychological toll.

“I would like for viewers to gain a better understanding of what life feels like in the closet,” Rohrbaugh told The Huffington Post. “I also hope they’ll reflect upon their own lives and think about falsehoods that might be holding them back. So many of the social norms we’ve been taught are rooted in discrimination, and so many young people are taught to feel ashamed of who they are, raised to believe that ‘there’s something wrong with them,’ that ‘they’re not normal’ or ‘not who they should be.’ Those types of lies are really destructive, which is why they must be exposed and debunked.”

WATCH: Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis: Hillary Clinton

From The Verge
In yet another play for the hearts of the nation’s youth, Hillary Clinton has appeared on Zach Galifianakis’ web talk show Between Two Ferns. This time however, it stands to pay off for Clinton — she gets to sit mostly in silence and offer deadpan responses to Galifianakis’ deadpan jokes. Even her slow blink works well with the Between Two Ferns Charlie Rose aesthetic.

At the start of the interview, Galifianakis asks her if she’s excited to be the first “girl president,” then follows up by reminding her that “for a younger, younger generation you will also become their first white president, so that’s pretty cool, too.” Later he asks, “When you see how well it works for Donald Trump, do you ever think ‘Oh, I should be more racist?'” Clinton delivers a solid performance as “person who is annoyed with Zach Galifianakis.”

Robert Reich gets a Trump Supporter Together

I read this on Facebook and I had to share this with y'all

I finally found a Trump supporter -- this morning when I went to buy coffee. (I noticed a Trump bumper sticker on his car.)

“Hi,” I said. “Noticed your Trump bumper sticker.”

“Yup,” he said, a bit defensively.

“I hope you don’t mind my asking, but I’m curious. Why are you supporting him?”

“I know he’s a little bit much,” said the Trump supporter. “But he’s a successful businessman. And we need a successful businessman as president.”

“How do you know he’s a successful businessman?” I asked.

“Because he’s made a fortune.”

“Has he really?” I asked.

“Of course. Forbes magazine says he’s worth four and a half billion.”

“That doesn’t mean he’s been a success,” I said.

“In my book it does,” said the Trump supporter.

“You know, in 1976, when Trump was just starting his career, he said he was worth about $200 million,” I said. “Most of that was from his father.”

“That just proves my point,” said the Trump supporter. “He turned that $200 million into four and a half billion. Brilliant man."

“But if he had just put that $200 million into an index fund and reinvested the dividends, he’d be worth twelve billion today,” I said.

The Trump supporter went silent.

"And he got about $850 million in tax subsidies, just in New York alone," I said.

More silence.

"He's not a businessman," I said. "He's a con man. "Hope you enjoy your coffee."

WATCH The “Alt-Right’s” White Nationalist, Pro-Trump Press Conference

This is something we need to be highly aware of.

From Media Matters
On September 9, three of the country’s most notorious white nationalists held a press conference in Washington, D.C., titled “What Is The Alt-Right?” The event, organized by the white nationalist “think tank” the National Policy Institute (NPI), came in response to growing media interest in the “alt-right” movement. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has helped mainstream the racist movement, including by hiring Breitbart News executive chairman Stephen Bannon as his campaign CEO. As the Southern Poverty Law Center has noted, under Bannon’s leadership, Breitbart has “has been openly promoting the core issues of the Alt-Right, introducing these racist ideas to its readership.”

Trump Foundation is getting Investigated

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office is investigating Trump's charitable foundation.

CNN reports
"We've inquired into it," Schneiderman told CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead." "We've had correspondence with them. I didn't make a big deal out of it or hold a press conference. But we have been looking into the Trump Foundation to make sure it's complying with the laws governing charities in New York."

The inquiry comes amid a series of reports by The Washington Post that Trump spent money from his charity, The Donald J. Trump Foundation, on himself, used it to recycle others' contributions to make them appear to have come from him and hasn't given to the foundation since 2008.

In another article, The Post had reported that the recipients of five charitable contributions listed by the Trump Foundation had no record of receiving those donations. But the newspaper updated its report after CNN questioned the accuracy of three of the five donations it had cited.

"My interest in this issue really is in my capacity as regulator of non-profits in New York state, and we have been concerned that the Trump Foundation may have engaged in some impropriety from that point of view," Schneiderman said.

Horrifying! 69-year-old Woman assaulted by Trump Supporter

At Donald Trump's rally in Asheville, NC, Richard Campbell punched a 69-year-old woman named Shirley Teter.

Why? Well, he did it because she was protesting against Trump.

Here's more
he has protested her whole life, she said. Now, she adds Trump's campaign to the list of things she's protested against.

"Why did I get involved yesterday, at my age? Because I ran into another situation that was sickening my heart," she said Tuesday afternoon, outside Cafe 64 in downtown Asheville.

Protesters met Trump supporters before the rally, and Teter was having fun.

"Whenever groups of them would start chanting 'Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump!' I would chant back, 'Dump, dump, dump, dump.' It was kind of comical," Teter said.

After the rally, Teter experienced something she had never seen in all of her protests. Peace teetered over into something else.

"I said, 'You better learn to speak Russian,' and I said, 'the first two words are going to be ha ha.' He stopped in his tracks, and he turned around and just cold-cocked me," Teter said.

She was punched in the face.

She says she fell on her oxygen tank and has sore ribs, a sore jaw, and cut her elbow. She later went to the hospital and is thankful she did not break any bones.

Police said they didn't make an arrest, because officers didn't witness the punch.
Later, cops learned about Richard and some other fools who were involved in the incident. Now, there is a warrant for his arrest.

NCAA MOVES their championships out of North Carolina for 2016-17

Well this cuts deep.

The NCAA has withdrawn all championship events from North Carolina because the state's hateful HB2 law.

This decision from NCAA affects all seven NCAA championship events... All of the NCAA events! They released a statement explain their stance.
Based on the NCAA's commitment to fairness and inclusion, the Association will relocate all seven previously awarded championship events from North Carolina during the 2016-17 academic year. The NCAA Board of Governors made this decision because of the cumulative actions taken by the state concerning civil rights protections.

In its decision Monday, the Board of Governors emphasized that NCAA championships and events must promote an inclusive atmosphere for all college athletes, coaches, administrators and fans. Current North Carolina state laws make it challenging to guarantee that host communities can help deliver on that commitment if NCAA events remained in the state, the board said.

“Fairness is about more than the opportunity to participate in college sports, or even compete for championships,” said Mark Emmert, NCAA president. “We believe in providing a safe and respectful environment at our events and are committed to providing the best experience possible for college athletes, fans and everyone taking part in our championships."

The board stressed that the dynamic in North Carolina is different from that of other states because of at least four specific factors:

North Carolina laws invalidate any local law that treats sexual orientation as a protected class or has a purpose to prevent discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender individuals.
North Carolina has the only statewide law that makes it unlawful to use a restroom different from the gender on one’s birth certificate, regardless of gender identity.
North Carolina law provides legal protections for government officials to refuse services to the LGBT community.
Five states plus numerous cities prohibit travel to North Carolina for public employees and representatives of public institutions, which could include student-athletes and campus athletics staff. These states are New York, Minnesota, Washington, Vermont and Connecticut.
“As representatives of all three divisions, the Board of Governors must advance college sports through policies that resolve core issues affecting student-athletes and administrators,” said G.P. “Bud” Peterson, Board of Governors chair and Georgia Institute of Technology president. “This decision is consistent with the NCAA's long-standing core values of inclusion, student-athlete well-being and creating a culture of fairness.”

These seven championship events will be relocated from North Carolina for 2016-17:

2016 Division I Women’s Soccer Championship, College Cup (Cary), Dec. 2 and 4.
2016 Division III Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships (Greensboro), Dec. 2 and 3.
2017 Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, first/second rounds (Greensboro), March 17 and 19.
2017 Division I Women’s Golf Championships, regional (Greenville), May 8-10.
2017 Division III Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships (Cary), May 22-27.
2017 Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship (Cary), May 26 and 28.
2017 Division II Baseball Championship (Cary), May 27-June 3.
Emmert said the NCAA will determine the new locations for these championships soon.

“The NCAA Constitution clearly states our values of inclusion and gender equity, along with the membership’s expectation that we as the Board of Governors protect those values for all,” said Susquehanna University President Jay Lemons, vice chair of the Board of Governors and chair of the ad hoc committee on diversity and inclusion. “Our membership comprises many different types of schools – public, private, secular, faith-based – and we believe this action appropriately reflects the collective will of that diverse group.”

Historically, the Association has taken steps to ensure its championship environment is consistent with its values. The NCAA bans championships in states where governments display the Confederate battle flag or authorize sports wagering and at schools that use hostile and abusive Native American imagery.

The only championship events that can be hosted in North Carolina this academic year are those that are decided when student-athletes earn the opportunity to play a championship on their own campus. The Board of Governors said this decision to allow these championships – called nonpredetermined sites – to be played in North Carolina is consistent with the NCAA’s commitment to student-athletes.

Based on an April directive from the Board of Governors, which represents all three divisions, cities interested in hosting future NCAA championships completed a questionnaire this summer that required sites to provide information about any local anti-discrimination laws; provisions for refusal of services; and other facility-specific information.

A group of representatives from NCAA schools will continue to evaluate these responses to determine which locations can host future championships. These decisions, typically announced in early December, will be delayed until next year, Emmert said.

In Mexico, a Teen tries to block Thousands of Anti-Gay Protesters

This is amazing to see.

This weekend in Mexico, thousands protested against same-sex marriage. In Celaya, Guanajuato, a 12-year-old boy walked out in the middle of the street to block the anti-gay protesters.

Here's more from Regeneracion:
"At first I thought the child was only playing," explains the author of photography, who later approached the child to ask his motives. "I have an uncle who is gay and I hate that I hate," was his answer.

Rodriguez added that the boy, who stood before a crowd of "little more than 11 thousand people", has approximately 12 years.

The image recalls, for its elements (an individual of unknown identity facing a much larger force him to defend a cause that considers fair), the famous photograph of "Tank Man" protests Tiananmen Square , China, in 1989.

Drag Legend Lady Chablis has Died

Sad news...

The legendary Lady Chablis died early this morning. Lady Chablis is known as an icon in the drag world, especially at Club One in Savannah, GA, where she preformed for nearly 30 years. She was also featured in the novel "Midnight in the Garden and Evil" and the film version as well.

I was lucky to see Lady Chablis perform when I lived in Georgia. She was amazing, classy and perfect. It's sad to hear of her passing.

Club One released this statement
The Lady chablis, who stole hearts - and the spotlight - in Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil, passed this morning surrounded by friends and family.

In his Best Selling novel, known in Savannah as The Book, John Berendt wrote that when he first met The Lady Chablis, “she had both hands on her hips and a sassy half-smile on her face,” a pose that would grace many stages.

Just as The Book shined the spotlight on Savannah, so too did Chablis shine the spotlight on the gay scene, and especially on Club One. She was Club One’s very first entertainer, officiating our grand opening in 1988, and paving the way for female impersonation in Savannah. No one, however, could outshine the Grand Empress herself.

With the success of “The Book,” Chablis shot to stardom. She was a guest on Good Morning America, and was interviewed by Oprah. She insisted to USA Today that she would play herself in the movie - or there would not be one. She’d be the first to tell you that she stole the show in Clint Eastwood’s 1997 adaptation. Since then, thousands of visitors have come to Savannah, visiting the locations in The Book, and crowding into Club One to see her.

In 1996, she released her autobiography “Hiding My Candy,” dubbed by her publisher as a cross between The Color Purple and Cinderella. The Doll loved to cook, and included several of her favorite recipes at the back of her book, like Brenda’s Kickin’ Chicken.

She has long been a giver to the community. Throughout the 2000’s, she worked closely on various campaigns for the American Diabetes Association, donating thousands of dollars raised by her performances to the cause.

She was the headlining entertainer for Savannah Pride’s inaugural celebration, and hosted their Miss Gay Pride Pageant. She would go on to perform, donate and contribute to many LGBT charities throughout her career.

Chablis always wanted to give the audience, be it 15 or 1500, the best that she had. With her declining health, she regretted that her body wouldn’t allow her to give more. Chablis is survived by her sister, Cynthia. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, who request privacy during this time of grief.

She died surrounded by friends and family at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital. She was 59.

Interesting Quote: Glenn Beck

We need to listen to one another, as human beings, and try to understand one another’s pain. Empathy is not acknowledging or conceding that the pain and anger others feel is justified. Empathy is acknowledging someone else’s pain and anger while feeling for them as human beings — even, and maybe especially, when we don’t necessarily agree or understand them.

Again, that’s different from empathizing with self-interested insiders and instigators. Just as I suggest a concerted effort at empathy, we must also stand together to confront the nefarious elements within our movements with equal fervor.

CNN gets called out over faulty Polling

So CNN thought it would be cute to post a poll, showing Trump ahead. It was too good to be true and MSNBC, found the flaw in their poll.

Here's more info:
First and foremost, the CNN survey included a +4 Republican sample, when the electorate in the most recent presidential election was +7 Democratic. According to Huffington Post’s Pollster, the Democrats continue to have an edge of seven points when it comes to party identification.

Add the fact that no election since 1980 has had an electorate with more Republicans than Democrats, and the CNN poll quickly seems like an outlier.

NBC News noticed these flaws and adjusted the CNN survey using 2012’s electorate – which is likely to resemble 2016 – and it gave Clinton a four-point edge over Trump, which is much more in line with other polling.

Interesting Quote: Megan Rapinoe

“Being a gay American, I know what it means to look at the flag and not have it protect all of your liberties. It was something small that I could do and something that I plan to keep doing in the future and hopefully spark some meaningful conversation around it. It’s important to have white people stand in support of people of color on this. We don’t need to be the leading voice, of course, but standing in support of them is something that’s really powerful.”
