President Obama is doing the damn thing by inviting some LGBT leaders to a reception next Monday honoring the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion in Greenwich Village.
Obama is expected to speak to the leaders, possibly addressing important LGBT issues. However, there are still some stubborn folks who said that it take more than a meeting to make things right.
I'm sorry, but you can't have it both ways. Y'all wanted Obama's attention and now you got it, but now it seems that folks are still clowning.
Goddammit, I swear some of our community members are borderline stoned!
Here is a chance to talk to the man! Take the frakking opportunity!
Obama is holding his end of the bargain, now it's own turn.

YES!!!!
I'm convinced some of the people "acting out" just want SOMETHING to complain about.
I'm team Obama all of the way. The fact of the matter is is that he's listening to the community.
So very true. Sure, work needs to be done, but you don't get it done throwing hissy fits in your bedroom.
I 100% agree! I'm so disppointed by how back and forth and how impatient and whiny the community is over how Obama is "handling" gay issues. People act like this country isn't in the biggest mess it's EVER been in and that somehow Obama needs to push aside all his economic briefings, trying to get a decent Supreme Court nominee confirmed, try to get the ball rolling on fixing the healthcare crisis and spend all his time on gay issues. I'm sorry, it's important, but it certainly can't be a priority. PATIENCE people! I now Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had to press to get Civil Rights on the President's radar, but the President had to get to it in the right time...there was a lot of other "stuff" going on!
Amen! I can't believe how people have the nerve to think that the President of the United States is going to postpone receiving his security briefings, trying to get an ultimately positive Supreme Court Justice confirmed, trying get the ball rolling on the nearly possibly task of addressing healthcare which will ultimately affect us in the future, etc. to respond to every little whine the "community" lets out. Think BIG PICTURE people! He's workin' the big thang and that will lay the groundwork for all the little thangs. PATEINCE!
Yeah, I do believe too many GLBT bloggers are overblowing everything when it comes to the Obama administration. Rational people realize that things will not change overnight, but too many GLBTs have bought into the "here and now" mindset of most Americans when it comes to such issues. The main bloggers that believed wouldn't be partaking in this foolishness such as Rod McCollum on Rod 2.0 is doing just that. We need to realize that we have to take things in phases, and be proud of all we have accomplished in the end.
