Introducing...Employment Non-Discrimination Act of 2009 (H.R.2981)

Barney Frank has introduced the Employment Non-Discrimination Act of 2009 (H.R.2981) today!

If passed, employees will be protected based upon sexual orientation or gender identity. However, it will exclude religious institutions and the armed forces.

Good stuff. I'm casting Hex Spheres for its quick induction.

"It will exclude religious institutions and the armed forces"

WHY?!

It should be universal.

Times like this it makes me glad we're part of the EU.

Well, you cannot force a religious institution to accept you...The whole seperation of church and state thing. Furthermore, WHY would you want to go to a church that does not accept you?
Anyway, this is great. This is the kind of law that I'm concerned about. This is needed much moreso than DADT.
