Hester and I figured it out, She is a Maenad....I love that they chose Michelle Forbes for this role. She's one bad ass bitch! Her role as Admiral Helena Cain proved that and Maryann only solidifies it.

Just finished season 1 this morning. Came late to this particular party. So I take it she is not just a shifter like Sam? I am going to wait til the season is over and watch it all at one time.

If you read the 2nd Sookie book, you will get the jist of who she is (for the best scene of hers, skip to page 264 in the paperback version). But Alan Ball and Company have changed/enlarged her character quite a bit for the TV series. Forbes is perfect!!! Loving it.
who cares about Mary Ann? I want to see more shots of Eggs Benedict (Mehcad Brooks) shirtless or nekkid!
