Obama signs Memo, says DOMA is discriminatory and will change it

President Obama is continuing his "Tour". Let's see how this goes.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post reports that, "Despite campaign promises Obama has not taken any concrete steps toward repealing a policy that bans gays and lesbians from serving openly int he military. He also has refused to step in and block the dismissal of gays and lesbians who face court matials for disclosing their sexual orientation." Words, meet action. Action, words.

Mark, I saw that too but he said yesterday that this will take a step at a time.

Working in a somewhat high administrative position at an university has helped me process that belief.

When we change, add or remove a policy involving student's welfare or security, we have to have guidelines in place for their protection or a strong reason for the change. Without that or a fallout plan, we could make matters worst. I believe he is working to end DADT, but I think he's trying to put the best plan forward.

I can wait for the right plan. I will not settle for something busted.
