Harold now supports gay marriage and probably will be set to go in New York.

It does look like he will run for Senator or something else? I wonder, should Paterson be concerned? We will need to see more on Mr. Ford. The jury is still out.

Harold Ford is a conservative and a weasel. Kirsten Gillibrand is a STRONG supporter of the LGBT community and a good senator - Ford needs to keep his ass out of this race.
Ford couldn't win in TN, so he thinks he can come to NY and take a Senate seat from one of our biggest allies?!? Why doesn't he move to Texas and try and run against an asshat Republican?
I wouldn't vote for Harold Ford if he was running for Dog Catcher.

Well, it looks like he is equipping his platform for a NY race. If I could vote in NY I would deeply consider him before I say no because Gillibrand wasn't so "progressive" before she became a US Senator either.
It seems as though Mr Ford needs to consider the way he is doing things here. Comes across as a botched early effort, and time to pull back and rethink. Hillary was smart, took a year touring the district, and Harold comes across as just diving in.

You are correct, Gillibrand represented a conservative district in upstate NEW YORK, and voted along the lines of her constituents at the time. As any good politician should (are you listening, Joe Lieberman?).
However, when she became the Senator for the broader and more liberal statewide electorate, she again adjusted her voting positions in order to better represent her constituency. Again, she was representing her entire state - which was/is much more liberal than her upstate Congressional district. Nothing wrong with that.
Unlike Ford, however, Gillibrand NEVER voted for A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT BANNING GAY MARRIAGE. Yes, Ford wanted to write discrimination of the GLBT community into the U.S. Constitution when he was in Congress. I don't know how you go about defending that shit.
Harold Ford needs to keep his ass on Wall Street - where he has spent the past 3 years. It's the perfect place for people of his high moral caliber.
I don't trust him. He can change his mind... And he can change his mind back... He's smooth, but not *THAT* smooth!
