Interesting Quote: Dallas Henry
The enemy comes in and becomes "one of us" unless we are discerning. For example, the Homosexual activists have been very clever in appearing as normal families while hiding the diabolical acts they engage in on a regular basis. They have infiltrated some churches becoming leaders and even clergy. God calls it an abomination and so should we. The message was told ten times over "they are coming to kill you while you sleep, when you least expect it."
Really, Dallas? I'm a Deity, not a murderer.

Gavin Newsom ends his CA Gov Race
I'm a little sad about this.
Gavin is ending his bid for Governor. This is his statement
"It is with great regret I announce today that I am withdrawing from the race for governor of California. With a young family and responsibilities at city hall, I have found it impossible to commit the time required to complete this effort the way it needs to - and should be - done."
I hope he tries again.

Let Anderson Cooper Be!
Everybody is all up in Anderson Cooper's drawls lately.
I think he's vacationing with this guy, but the media is remixing it into sex orgies and hot drama.
But is it possible that they are friends?
Could Anderson be "straight" and have gay friends? And do we really want to know if they are doin' the nasty? Well... maybe, but the point is, let Anderson be.
If he's gay he's gay, he'll tell you when he's ready. But let's stop hounding him like he's Paris Hilton or Twilight.
He's just a man. A cute one, but a man.

Interesting Quote: President Obama after Lifting the HIV Travel Ban
Some communities still experience unacceptably high rates of infection. Gay men make up 2 or 3 percent of the population, but more than half of all new cases. African Americans make up roughly half of all new cases. Nearly half of all new cases now occur in the South. And a staggering 7 percent of Washington, D.C.'s residents between the ages of 40 and 49 live with HIV/AIDS — and the epidemic here isn't as severe as it is in several other U.S. cities.
So tackling this epidemic will take far more aggressive approaches than we've seen in the past — not only from our federal government, but also state and local governments, from local community organizations, and from places of worship.

I might have to Return to NYC, Carrie the Musical is Back on Broadway!
Carrie the Musical is back and on Broadway!
"Carrie" ran five performances on Broadway in 1988, but those who saw it can never forget it.It set a new standard on Broadway for camp awfulness. As Ken Mandelbaum notes in his indispensable book "Not Since 'Carrie': 40 Years of Musical Flops," it seemed as if every fiasco in theatrical history "was piled high, and 'Carrie' was playing on top of them all."
The confident producers attempting to resurrect it are Jeffrey Seller and Kevin McCollum, whose enviable track record includes "Rent," "Avenue Q" and "West Side Story."
Next month, they're producing a six-figure workshop of the musical, based on Stephen King's 1974 thriller about a teenage girl with telekinetic powers.
I was fortunate to see Xanadu on Broadway and now I may get to see this... Maybe.
I hope this can happen, because if it does, David Dust will see me soon.

Real time in my Head
I thought I would share some random things swimming in my head. It's makes no sense, but it's late and it's Friday... I lose all sense of control on Fridays.
- I'm a member of 2 gyms. One on campus and one downtown. I "try" not to look at the guys at the campus gym because, they are students. But at my downtown gym, my eyes are all over the place. Imagine Mechadude's and David Dust's blog coming to life, and you have my other gym.
- I'm trying to schedule a trip to Buffalo and Murray, KY within the next couple of months. We will see how that goes.
- I'm in the middle of 2 scripts: a gay geek one and a horror one.
- I saw a special screening of Cabin Fever 2 with the cast and thought it was cute, and the lead guy, Noah Segan is a hottie.
- Eric Arvin has a dark and sexy pic of himself that makes pumpkin craving an exciting activity.
- I'm thinking of fun games to play at David Dust next DDBW: I Never, Hot Seat, Truth or Dare. I love these games, I never lose.
- I had fun getting my teeth clean yesterday, it was very therapeutic.
- The next 6 weeks will be filled with traveling, student programming, long weekends and trick -n- treating... That's my job actually.
- I think all of you should write at least one sex post about yourself.
- I have too much Ralph Lauren... I'm becoming a middle aged preppie.
- I'm watching this movie with Dash Mihok in it. He's so Dreamy McDirty.
I was Tagged!
Damien tagged me to do this cute lil meme. So I did it.

Harry Reid Presents a Call-to-Action on Health Care
We need to get our (LGBT) Congress peeps to do a Call-to-Action for our issues.
SyFy wants to "Americanese" Being Human, meaning, they will F**k it Up
Let me schedule my next scriptwriting class, because this is a hot ass mess.
SyFy wants to do their own version of the UK hit, Being Human. This show is about a vampire, a ghost and a werewolf living together and trying to deal with their own issues. It's on BBC America and it's doing well.
However, there was a gas leak at SyFy and they believe they can just copy it "Party in the USA" style.
"Human" appeared on Syfy's radar about two years ago when the network was given the pilot script by the BBC, which was seeking to bring in the U.S. cable network in as co-producer. It was too late in the process, so Syfy brass passed but became instant fans of the material.
"It turned out great as we can now do an American version," Syfy president Dave Howe said. "We've always been keen on vampires and werewolves, and we loved the originality of 'Being Human,' the fact that the fantastical creatures in it are very young, accessible and charming."
Howe stressed that Syfy is not going to "slavishly replicate the British version." Some of network's core audience already might be familiar with the original series, which runs in the U.S. on BBC America.
The search is on for a writer to adapt "Human," with Syfy targeting a launch in summer or fall 2010 and eyeing it as a potential companion piece to breakout hit "Sanctuary," which shares similar subject matter.
But Sanctuary is horrible and remember Coupling? Who told them to do this? And would we watch a remake of a show that is still producing new episodes? In fact, they are starting season 2.
SyFy are you thinking at all? Try, oh I don't know...SOMETHING NEW!

Judy Shepard on the signing of the Hate Crimes bill
"When Dennis and I started calling 10 years ago for federal action to prevent and properly prosecute hate crimes against gay, lesbian and transgendered Americans, we never imagined it would take this long," said Judy Shepard, Matthew's mother and the president of the Matthew Shepard Foundation Board of Directors.
"The legislation went through so many versions and so many votes that we had to constantly keep our hopes in check to keep from getting discouraged," she continued. "But with President Obama's support and the continually growing bipartisan majorities in the House and Senate lining up behind the bill this year, it became clear that 2009 was the year it would finally happen."The legislation allows federal authorities to pursue charges in violent crimes motivated by the victim's actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and disability, in cases where local authorities cannot or will not secure appropriate convictions. It also opens up federal aid to local law enforcement for training, prevention and investigation.
"We are incredibly grateful to Congress and the president for taking this step forward on behalf of hate crime victims and their families, especially given the continuing attacks on people simply for living their lives openly and honestly," Shepard added. "But each of us can and must do much more to ensure true equality for all Americans."
The Matthew Shepard Foundation's work for an inclusive society continues after passage of this landmark legislation. In addition to advocating for workplace and housing equality, equal rights for same-sex couples, and an end to the ban on gay and lesbian military service, the Foundation continues to reach out to schools and corporations nationwide to encourage respect for human dignity and differences.

The Secretary of the Army says "We're Ready when You are."
The Secretary of the Army, John McHugh said that the Army is ready to lift the ban on gay servicemen when President Obama and Congress repeal DADT.
Interesting stuff, this looks promising!
The Secretary of the Army, John McHugh, indicated this weekend that the Army is prepared to lift
the ban on openly gay service if the Commander-in-Chief and the Congress
decide to end the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, a prospect that has gathered
steam in recent weeks. McHugh, formerly a Republican congressman from the
conservative 23rd district of New York, is the highest official inside the
Pentagon to express such support. He told the Army Times on Sunday that there
was no reason to fear that major difficulties would result from lifting the
ban, and that he would help implement the policy change when the time comes.
"The Army has a big history of taking on similar issues," he said, with
"predictions of doom and gloom that did not play out." He also suggested that
repeal may come in phases, with early action involving, for example, allowing
open gays to serve in some occupations and not others.

Interesting Quote: U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr
“Many people have been, I think, a bit flummoxed by what has been the mistaken intention of the president in the briefs that the justice departments has filed in support of the Defense of Marriage Act. Though I fully support what the president has said, that is the repeal of 'don’t ask, don’t tell,' the repeal of DOMA, I have a responsibility as attorney general to support the statute.”

By the Goddess... DO NOT make Paranormal Activity 2!
I knew it, I knew it!
Greed always grinds good ideas into mush. Because Paranormal Activity is a success, they (Paramount) want to make a sequel.
Paramount Pictures is hoping so, as the studio is actively considering producing a sequel to "Paranormal Activity," the out-of-the-blue horror flick that cost $15,000 to produce and has sold $62.5 million worth of tickets so far domestically.
"We have the rights on a worldwide basis to do 'Paranormal 2' and we're looking to see if that makes some sense," Paramount Chairman Brad Grey said in an interview today.
Well, it don't. How can a sequel come from that? Do they remember the malarkey called Blair Witch: Book of Shadows... Omega Fail.
Just leave it alone, let it be a mystery, let this movie's ending be an mystery. There's no need to ruin it with a glossy sequel that sucks. Just let it be.
If I wrote it, I want it to end the way I want it to end. I would turn down the money for the sake of the story. If I didn't plan for a sequel, I won't do it.
I hope the folks behind the movie won't let this happen.
Spike Lee ain't feeling Tyler Perry
Spike Lee had some words for Tyler Perry, check out this clip
Tyler's upset, but does Spike have a point?
Of course folks like Medea and House of Payne, but seriously, it's not cute.
For me, Perry's work is a bit too much. It's always, God will save that lonely and warned down woman with the country family with a crooked past.
And that statement about "people like this exist", yes they do, I just don't want to be reminded of that.

Paranormal Activity destroys stupid Vamps and Jigsaw Puzzles
I can't believe this!
The cheap and easy horror flick, Paranormal Activity whipped Saw VI's ass at the box office and pissed on the Cirque du Freak: the Vampire’s Assistant movie's face for fun.
Becoming the biggest box office phenomenon of the year, Paramount’s “Paranormal Activity” easily took down “Saw VI” in grossing an estimated $22 million from 1,945 theaters to win the weekend and finish with an eye-popping cume of $62.5 million in its fifth frame.“Saw VI” opened to an estimated $14.8 million from 3,036 theaters--less than half the opening gross of the previous four films in the horror franchise. It also came in below the original “Saw,” which opened just north of $18 million. Film placed No. 2.
Universal’s Halloween entry “Cirque du Freak: the Vampire’s Assistant” grossed an estimated $6.3 million from 2,754 runs to placed No. 8. Film was co-financed by U and Relativity Entertainment, and produced for $40 million.
Paranormal continues to fool, I mean, wow audiences. And it sent the message that original ideas are on the comeback train. So producers, take heed at what just happened.
Jigsaw is dead and vampires are boring... Jazz horror up!

Question of the Day
5 Bad Times at the Prom
But in my Junior year, I had an odd night. After prom was done, a friend of mine who lived in the middle of the woods couldn't go. He was lonely and I was madly in love with him, so I decided to go over his house.
Well, I got lost in the woods on this dirt road and ended up in a ditch. I had to walk two miles to the nearest house just to call a tow truck. Now this was in '92, so cell phones was not as big as they are today. However, walking in the dark in the middle of nowhere was crazy/exciting. Luckily, I wasn't chopped up into pieces or eaten by hillbillies.
But these folks here wasn't so lucky.

First Look: The (New) A-Team
Bradley Cooper (as Lt. Peck), Quintin Jackson (as Baracus), Sharlto Copley (as Murdock) and Liam Neeson (as Hannibal)
What do you think?
Interesting Quote: B. Scott
Well, there’s so much negativity out there, especially amongst the gays. We’re so often put in the position of critiquing other people — that’s what a lot of people expect from our community — and I want to represent something else. I want to be a breath of fresh air. I also feel like the negativity card isn’t one that I have to play. I think a lot of people play that card because they have to — they don’t have anything else to offer, they don’t have any other talent than the talent for breaking someone down.

Dan Savage: Hate Crimes bill Doesn't impact the lives of the LGBT community like Marriage
Dan said that the Hate Crimes law DOES NOT impact the lives of gays and lesbians like the right to get married.
Is he f**king kidding me?
Please listen to this CNN clip at the 3:58 mark
According to Dan, Hate Crimes is not one of the IMPORTANT LGBT issues.
What is wrong with our community? Wait, let me remix that, What is wrong with Dan Savage? He is saying that Hate Crimes does not impact us like marriage!
Am I crazy? What the f**k is he talking about?
This is why we are always running in circles, maybe it's just me, but that clip was a bunch of hater foolishness.
And who is this Corey Johnson?
Will CNN get some LGBT folks with a different and sensible opinions? I'm tired of these folks misrepresenting our community.

Congress Approves the Hate Crimes Act!

The LGBT community is included in HUD programs
Great news! We are now included in HUD programs.
It's another great step the Obama administration is taking for our rights.
The initiatives announced today will be a proposed rule that will provide the opportunity for public comment. The proposed rule will:
- clarify that the term "family" as used to describe eligible beneficiaries of our public housing and Housing Choice Voucher programs include otherwise eligible lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender (LGBT) individuals and couples. HUD's public housing and voucher programs help more than three million families to rent an affordable home. The Department's intent to propose new regulations will clarify family status to ensure its subsidized housing programs are available to all families, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
- require grantees and those who participate in the Department's programs to comply with local and state non-discrimination laws that cover sexual orientation or gender identity; and
- specify that any FHA-insured mortgage loan must be based on the credit-worthiness of a borrower and not on unrelated factors or characteristics such as sexual orientation or gender identity.
In addition to issuance of proposed rule, HUD will commission the first-ever national study of discrimination against members of the LGBT community in the rental and sale of housing.
HUD expects to begin the regulatory process immediately. The LGBT discrimination study is similarly fast tracked. HUD undertook important research in 1977, 1989 and 2000 to study the impact of housing discrimination on the basis of race and color. It is believed that LGBT individuals and families may remain silent because in many local jurisdictions, they may have little or no legal recourse. HUD's study will examine housing discrimination based on Sexual orientation or gender identity.
While there are no national assessments of LGBT housing discrimination, there are state and local studies that have shown this sort of bias. For example, Michigan's Fair Housing Centers found that nearly 30 percent of same-sex couples were treated differently when attempting to buy or rent a home. Please visit online.
Talking points from Stand for Marriage Maine
I found this on Nate Silver's blog
Crazy crap! In fact, this is poppycock! Gay marriage will eliminate "regular" marriage? They talk about gay marriage like it's the Swine Flu or the Black Plague.
Nate defuses this mess, but it's so fascinating how folks really believe this.
I read SUBSURDITY and...
If I'm not reading comics, blogs or Bear magazines, I'm reading horror novels. But I took a detour and read celebrated author and buddy, Eric Arvin's SUBSURDITY.
I loved this book!
Not because it's Eric, but his characters brings so much to the table. Each of them are not ordinary, but not crazily over the top. They are lovable, broken, complexed, sexy and troubled.
As I was reading the book, I fell in love the characters. I was curious to more about them. For example, Rick, I am so interested in his past with his ex. I wanted to know what he saw in Coby and what really kept him in that relationship.
James is also interesting. What was his life like in the army? What is his family like? Cassie Bloom and her son, Jason really intrigued me. I loved their troubled past and I want to know more about her husband ? Will his past come back to haunt Cassie? And what has Jason been up to?
I don't want to give anything away, so this is super vague. I want folks to get this book and read it! I really enjoyed the story, the peeps and the mysteries/drama surrounding Jasper Lane. I can see this as a TV series, exploring each characters' interesting lives.
And there so much more tell, Eric set this up for more stories and I'm happy to read them.
I know this was a weird review, but to break it down... I loved it and I'm loaning this book to the USC LGBT Student Resource Center. Hopefully, they will enjoy it as well.
To get this book and to learn more about the man (Eric) with the cute and innocent smile, go to his blog here.
Oh, Rick and Vera are my favorites, BTW!
