Blister Palin claims she's getting death threat because of her statements about gay marriage

The former Alaska governor's daughter used a new post to share screenshots of some the comments written on her site, including ones that say "kill yourself," "may death be upon you," and "You all, including your son, deserve a slow, painful and miserable death."

However, the 21-year-old isn’t backing down and argued the death threats only serve to undermine her critics who are attacking her.

"Around Hollywood, there's lots of concern and great initiatives to try to encourage more kindness in this world,” she wrote. “Then why do I get so many messages telling me I should die?"

Palin claims in the post she is victim of “bullying.”

"Here's a newsflash, guys. Your hate and bullying won't work,” she wrote. “People see through it, and they don't like to be pushed around. You think it's completely obvious that you're right, but this younger generation is more pro-life than their parents, and voters just keep defending traditional marriage."

Rick Perry Signs NOM's Hateful Anti-Gay Marriage Pledge

Continuing his downward spiral of mess, Ricky signs NOM's stank ass pledge against gay marriage.

The Republican presidential hopeful signed the National Organization for Marriage's pledge Friday.

It states that, if elected, Perry will send a Constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman to the states for ratification and appoint U.S. Supreme Court and federal judges who will "reject the idea our Founding Fathers inserted a right to gay marriage into our Constitution."
Perry had said that though he doesn't support gay marriage personally, it is a states' rights issue. He even suggested New York's decision to legalize it was therefore fine with him.

Is Ken Mehlman the Hidden Hero of the NY Gay Marriage Vote?

So when folks think of Ken Mehlman, they remember the guy who worked for Bush and led the campaign to federally ban gay marriage. Later, he came out and spent the last year trying to redeem himself. He has played some minor roles moving LGBT issues within the GOP. But his biggest role may have went semi unnoticed.

According to this latest piece from The Daily Beast, Ken may be the unsung hero of the NY gay marriage vote:

On May 6, Mehlman traveled to Albany to attend a meeting with the leaders of New York’s GOP-controlled legislature, and make his pitch. “There’ s a strong Republican and conservative case to be made in favor of the right to marry,” Mehlman told the room. “If we are all endowed by a creator with unalienable rights including the pursuit of happiness, how can that not include marrying the person you love?” And like any good campaign strategist, he buttressed his argument with poll data: nearly 60 percent of New Yorkers said in recent polling that they support same-sex marriage. The GOP should not, he hinted, wind up on the wrong side of history.

On June 6, two weeks before the legislative session was officially set to end, Mehlman was back in the state capitol to drive his argument home. He met one-on-one with 13 lawmakers, including the four Republican state senators who eventually voted in favor of the bill. Mehlman took pains not to draw too much attention to his efforts. As his friend, Bill Smith, political director at the Gill Action Fund, a gay-rights organization that orchestrated the conservative lobbying in New York, puts it, “he has been careful not to leave many fingerprints, like people who are looking for credit.” But the four Republican votes ended a deadlocked legislative session and made New York the sixth, largest, and most influential state to adopt same-sex marriage.

Ken is working hard to get in the gays' good graces. I'm kind of curious to see what he does next.

NYC Activist Allen Roskoff calls for a Donald Trump Boycott

Like many of us, Donald Trump totally pissed gays off by saying we don't deserve marriage rights or benefits. In fact, he has gay activist Allen Roskoff calling for a boycott on the fake haired bastard.

"He's crossed the Rubicon," says Roskoff, a founder of the Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club. "It's unconscionable that he could exist in New York City." [...]

"He's an extreme bigot," says Roskoff, who was the first openly gay appointed official in New York City and has served under Gov. Mario Cuomo and Mayor David Dinkins, among others."

Roskoff adds: "Not only should gays be furious, we should be boycotting the products of the advertisers on his TV show" - "Celebrity Apprentice," which premiered Sunday night on NBC-TV  "and  certainly boycotting his casinos and hotels and apartment buildings."

Noting that Trump recently switched his stance on abortion from pro-choice to pro-life, Roskoff says: "His game plan is to appeal to the extreme right." But he continues: "How he does business in New York, how he's tolerated is beyond me. I think things are going to change for him."

I do believe that Trump has a war on his hands. NYC gays don't play.

Donald Trump says NO and NO to our right to Marry

Donald Trump just shot himself in the foot, personally and professionally. In an interview with Des Moines Register, Donald pretty much said that we should not have any marriage rights

Asked whether he supports allowing same-sex couples to marry, Trump said no. Iowa conservatives have overwhelmingly opposed the 2009 Iowa Supreme Court decision overturning the state’s ban on gay marriage.

“They should not be able to marry,” he said. But asked whether gay couples should be able access the same benefits as married couples, he said his “attitude on it has not been fully formed.”

Given a second to think, Trump said on marriage and civil benefits, “As of this moment, I would say no and no.”

Okay, well, I hope you think about that when you TRY to run for president or when certain sponsors start ditching your ass. For a man who has made a mockery of marriage, how dare he try to deny us the opportunity. Donald, you can go to Hell, and leave your hairpiece for us to dance on during our gay marriage ceremonies.

Fools in North Carolina introduced LGBT Union Ban

Sen. James Forrester presented his anti-gay constitutional amendment on civil unions. This is becoming a virus with these backwoods lawmakers.

QNotes reports

The text of the proposed amendment, which has not yet been filed in the House, would ban any recognition of any “domestic legal union” other than a marriage between an opposite-sex couple. If approved by the legislature, the amendment would appear on the November 2012 ballot. Three-fifths of both the House and Senate must approve the amendment before it can appear on the ballot; the governor has no veto authority on amendments.

Forrester, a Republican who has been the primary lead on the amendment for the past seven years, was joined in sponsoring the legislation by Jerry W. Tillman (R-Montgomery, Randolph) and Dan Soucek (R-Alexander, Ashe, Watauga, Wilkes). Twenty other senators, all Republican, are co-sponsoring the bill. Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger (R-Guilford, Rockingham) did not sponsor the amendment.

Palmquist said a companion bill was expected in the House, though he had no definitive timeline.

Indiana House approves Gay Marriage Ban

In Indiana, the House approved the ban on gay marriage and civil union in a 70-26 vote.

The vote took place after a debate that, at less than 30 minutes, was much shorter than contentious issues often command in the House.

“The basic unit of society is the family, and the cornerstone of the family is marriage. Marriage is, and should be, the union of one man and one woman,” said the gay marriage ban’s author, Rep. Eric Turner, R-Marion.

Rep. Mary Ann Sullivan, D-Indianapolis, called the ban “a blow that hurts thousands across this great state, and taints our constitution with the language of hate,” and said she has friends and neighbors who are “deeply, deeply hurt by this legislation.”

Since the vote was originally scheduled for Monday, Sullivan said she had written her comments in the form of a valentine.

She said passing such a ban “removes talented people from classrooms and business, weakens the arts, our culture and progress, makes all of our cities less vibrant and diverse – the kinds of conditions that make economies worse.”

But Rep. Ralph Foley, R-Martinsville, said the ban would have no effect on Hoosiers’ ability to live with and love whomever they choose.

“That loving friendship is a different relationship than a husband and wife, and we should recognize that in the law,” he said.

This vote could set things up in 2014, where the voters may have the last word.

Bishop Harry Jackson continues his fight to stop Gay Marriage in D.C.

Old Snake Face won't quit! After being defeated time and time again to put gay marriage to a vote in D.C., he gives it one more try:

Bishop Harry Jackson, pastor of a Beltsville, Md., Christian church, and other same-sex marriage opponents filed a petition with the Supreme Court Oct. 12 asking the court to consider hearing the case in a process known as a petition for a Writ of Certiorari. The case consists of their appeal of a lower court ruling that rejected their contention that the city must allow voters to decide the marriage question in a ballot initiative.

The D.C. Court of Appeals upheld the Board of Elections and Ethics’ decision to bar Jackson and his supporters from organizing a ballot initiative on grounds that, if approved, the initiative would violate the city’s Human Rights Act. The Human Rights Act bans discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Jackson and his attorneys argue that the city did not have the authority to ban ballot measures that impact the Human Rights Act because only Congress could make such a change by amending the city’s Home Rule Charter. Gay rights attorneys have joined city attorneys in disputing that contention, claiming the city acted within the scope of the Home Rule charter in the 1970s when it put in place restrictions on certain ballot measures.

City attorneys defended those restrictions in a brief submitted before the Supreme Court on Dec. 17. The attorneys, among other things, argued that the case involves a local matter pertaining to the city’s initiative and referendum law. They noted that the high court has a longstanding precedent of deferring to state or D.C. appeals courts on cases that don’t have a national impact.

If the Supreme Court rejects Jackson’s request to take on the case, the D.C. Court of Appeals decision remains in force to permanently prevent a ballot measure on the same-sex marriage law.

If it accepts the case, it would become the first time the Supreme Court addresses a same-sex marriage-related issue. But the case would not address marriage itself or whether same-sex marriage is protected under the constitution — only the question of whether D.C. voters should be allowed to decide the issue through a ballot measure.

I'm sure y'all heard about the Chick-Fil-A drama. The Pennsylvania Family Institute is hosting some anti gay mess called, “The Art of Marriage". Well, apparently one of their sponsors is the fast food favorite, Chick-Fil-A.

This joint has a rep of being religious, in fact, they are not open on Sundays. Anywho, this ad came out yesterday...

Many folks didn't take that very well, it was all over the blogs within hours. But now, there's been some changes. A new ad has removed Chick-Fil-A from the bill, see here...
