Oh God you are so right, especially about Dee-Lite and Lauryn Hill.

Lady Kier from Dee-Lite has gained a little weight but is still rocking in. Google her and get a few clips.

And if Lauryn can get some good mental healthcare and good pill to even her out she might come back. She has to leave the weed and shit alone though -- self medicating is not good.

Janet Jackson ...eh...I think she is done. Like Madonna she is getting older but her music is still mostly about partying and sex.

Wow, if only she could do another Rhythm Nation/social message album she might get back on top.

Listen to David Bowie's "Fame" from wayyyyy back in the 70s. That song was ahead of its time then and can still rock it now.

The other group...nah...don't know them.

Take care

Everyone except Janet... Well, YES to Janet if she can write a pop song that isn't about her vagina.

Wow...I was just thinking about DeeLite yesterday. Amen to this post. I think the music scene is so not inspiring today.

A big part of the problem is the industry itself. They are looking for "acts" that can have that big hit and make big money. Which is nothing new, but it seems to me it is more pervasive.

Also, radio really, really, sucks which makes it difficult for new artist to break out. That loop they play is killing opportunities.

With that said, Burial is turning it out these days for me. Also, Meshell Ndegeocello last album was brilliant. Iamiwhoami took me to new places with their first few tracks.

So there is hope darling. And, in the words of Lady Kier, "I just want to hear a good beat."
