Congrats, Charles Pugh!

City council candidate, Charles Pugh just became a top contender for the nine at-large city council seats in Detroit.

Charles finished first in a Detroit primary, beating out more than 160 candidates. He advances to the November 3 primary, where he and 17 other top primary folks go for the glory.

And he's openly gay, BTW.

I wish him luck.

Great to hear, and best of luck to Mr. Charles Pugh.

I wish I could be happier abut this, but it's wel... Detroit. The city is beyond any help that a full purging of all incumbents can only fix.

So while I congratulate Mr. Pugh on his victory, I think the lss than 16% total voter turnout is a telling sign that even the people of Detroit have given up on their city.

That good news.
The more we are out and open and in places of power the less we will be ignored or ostracized or treated as second-class citizens.
