Perhaps the question should be, Is propaganda such a bad thing for us?

lol

That cartoon isn't exactly a good advertisement for socialism.

However, change the title to "capitalism illustrated", and you'll have a picture of the middle guy taking change out of both guys pockets - and the shirts off their backs too.

Yes and no, but mostly know. The extreme version socialism is the one that is always touted by the "investor class" as a means of scaring the less fortunate ones down below. Socialism is not that bad, and there are many socialist institutions in our country already that we all seem to enjoy.

That being said there are some valid points one can make against socialism, just as one can do against capitalism. It really comes down to the nature of the government, the population, and even geography of the country that determines which is better.

The country would do itself a collective favor if we actually talked about what the two systems are (we can throw communism out the window); and then point the fact that no western industrialized country is either/or, but rather a mix of each.

That's my long answer. :D

Most people are of the investing class by way of pensions and such. MOst people have lost the desire to work hard and earn what they get, if socialism was the way of the land that striving would drop even more and then where would we be. Stagnant.

We are already in a socialized country. Do you have to have insurance to get a: firefight, police officer, and etc?
Do we have to pay for school?
Do we have to pay for social security(well maybe now we may have to)?
All I want is a universal health care system and I'll be happy.
Obama isn't trying to turn this into a communist country. However, how does it look for the wealthiest country in the world to have a fucked up healthcare system...Whereas Cuba keeps all of its citizens healthy. Now that is shameful.
