The New Gay Example

LA Times wonders if the 18,000 gay married couples, who may stay married, could cause a great divide in our community.

They are married, while the rest of us basically hope for the best.

Also, some of the couples feel the pressure of being a symbol for gay marriage as well as being the idea image of 'good gay relationships'.

But, I think this would be a good thing. This is an opportunity to show the world that we can maintain strong relationships and our love is real. They can be role models, they can be hope we want someday for our lives.

For so long, we struggled to see or imagine marriage or even a strong relationship. Now, we have those images and real life people to watch and admire. I hope these couples don't look at this as high-stress pressure, I want them to see this as a honor or duty. We will not let an divide happen, we have come too far to tear it down within. If anything, it is our duty to protect and support these married couples. They're our hope for the future.

These couples are what we are fighting for.

I agree with you in that this could be a good thing. Hell, a wonderful thing. Our finest hour.

I really loved the picture of the gay couple you posted. Usually, most gay magazines have some super buff studs holding each other...However, these look like two average guys. Like people I actually know. Love it!

Thank you, Toddy. I wanted to paint or show realistic pics of us.
