Push didn't shove anyone to the movies

Push, the super-powered movie of the week, failed to reach audiences this past weekend. It looked promising and could have start up more interest in psychic powers, but what happened? What went wrong.

Maybe the story?

The story in Push was nothing new, in fact I felt like it was a missing New Mutants story from the 80s. The characters were rehashed folks from Marvel's New Universe series, Psi Force. There was nothing new or really exciting, however some of the fight scenes were good.

This could have been a cartoon or a movie on the Sci-Fi channel, but not a major motion picture. But, I guess they needed to see this crash and simmer before putting anymore stuff like this out. Still a decent try for the super-powers genre, maybe next time.

I was planning on seeing it as a double-header when Madea comes out. Hope they are still in the theaters by then.
