This is not good at all. A new study show a rise in Syphilis cases in young gay minority men.
Here's the scoop
"Using data from 27 states, CDC researchers found that between 2005 and 2008, the syphilis rate among black gay and bisexual men rose at an 8-times faster clip compared with their white counterparts.More info is here
"Hispanic gay and bisexual men, meanwhile, had more than twice the increase of white men."
Health officials, Reuters reports, are concerned with the new data not only because of syphilis infections but also because the sexually transmitted disease makes individuals more susceptible to HIV infection.

My doctor has been warning me about this for years. Apparently the Health Dept. released a statement about this quite some time ago. :(
But it seems that when you take a group (gay men) that is traditionally not emotionally supported in any way, and then take the minority population out of that (which is even less supported), then it reasons that when gay men are having unprotected sex to make themselves feel better, the black and hispanic men in that group are doing it that much more. :(
I know I've personally risked a lot just to have that moment of being in someone's arms and feeling "okay."
