I don't believe it's just a few fringe nutwhacks that are spewing the ugly. It's coming from the top. Listen to Sarah Palin. She's planting the seeds, with her "Pallin' around with terrorists" rhetoric and her firing up the crowds with her poisonous spew. And then you hear McCarthism rants from Rep. Bachmann, and you know, it's coming directly from the GOP top.
If you plant an ugly seed, an ugly tree will grow.
