49er Chris Culliver now says he was "Kidding Around" with his Anti-Gay Statements

The heat came down on Chris Culliver after his anti-gay statements the other day. Now, he says he was just kidding around.

Here's more:
He also apologized to the city of San Francisco and added that he would welcome a gay teammate to the 49ers, a reversal of his remarks to Lange two days ago. San Francisco and the Bay Area are home to a large gay community.
49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said Thursday he spoke with Culliver about his comments but he wouldn't get into specifics of his conversation with the cornerback.
"There's not malice in his heart. He's not an ugly person. He's not a discriminatory person. I really believe that this is something that he'll learn and grow from," Harbaugh said.
You can read his apology here. I need for him to go on TV and make an apology.

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver is a Hooked on Phonics Idiot

So this non-talking fool had the nerve to say this in a radio interview:
"I don't do the gay guys man. I don't do that. No, we don't got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do.Can't be with that sweet stuff. Nah…can't be…in the locker room man. Nah."
Then he concluded with this about a player coming out on the team:
"Yeah, come out 10 years later after that."
Sweet stuff? Chris, have a seat and get a teacher okay. Because you made these comments, I wonder if you like some of that sweet stuff, but I'll chill out for now. Here is the 49s' statement in response to Culliver's mess:
“The San Francisco 49ers reject the comments that were made yesterday, and have addressed the matter with Chris. There is no place for discrimination within our organization at any level. We have and always will proudly support the LGBT community.”
Chris, watch your back.

The Don't Say Gay Bill is Back, Requiring Teachers to tell the Parents their kids is Gay

This damn bill is back and causing a foolishness alert across my home state. After it's 'death' last year, I guess the creators of this bill thought it needed more mess added to it.
The general assembly recognizes that certain subjects are particularly sensitive and are, therefore, best explained and discussed within the home. Because of its complex societal, scientific, psychological, and historical implications, human sexuality is one such subject. Human sexuality is best understood by children with sufficient maturity to grasp its complexity and implications [...]
A school counselor, nurse, principal or assistant principal from counseling a student who is engaging in, or who may be at risk of engaging in, behavior injurious to the physical or mental health and well-being of the student or another person; provided, that wherever possible such counseling shall be done in consultation with the student’s parents or legal guardians. Parents or legal guardians of students who receive such counseling shall be notified as soon as practicable that such counseling has occurred.
So now, the kid could be in danger of getting beaten, kicked out or worse. These fools are not thinking of the children's best interest.

Gomer Pyle Actor marries his Long Time Partner

Gomer Pyle actor Jim Nabors got married to his partner of 38 years recently. Jim and Stan Cadwallader were married in Hawaii.

Here's more:
"I'm 82 and he's in his 60s and so we've been together for 38 years and I'm not ashamed of people knowing, it's just that it was such a personal thing, I didn't tell anybody," Nabors said. "I'm very happy that I've had a partner of 38 years and I feel very blessed. And, what can I tell you, I'm just very happy."

Nabors said he and Cadwallader traveled to Washington state, where gay marriages became legal in early December 2012. They were married at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle.

A judge performed the marriage ceremony in the privacy of their hotel room with a couple of friends who live down the street from them near Diamond Head as witnesses, Nabors said.

Before they were married, Nabors said, "It's pretty obvious that we had no rights as a couple, yet when you've been together 38 years, I think something's got to happen there, you've got to solidify something. And at my age, it's probably the best thing to do."
Congrats, Jim!

ProtectMarriage.com is in Debt over Gay Marriage

The hate group, ProtectMarriage.com, is coming up short in the federal Prop 8 case. They have a $2 million deficit in 2011 and they are still in debt.

Here's more
The 2012 accounts are not yet available. ProtectMarriage.com says it has since covered the 2011 shortfall. However, it is still $700,000 short in fundraising for its Supreme Court costs, according to a ProtectMarriage.com attorney, Andrew Pugno. That message has gone out to donors, with some urgency, as the Supreme Court prepares to hear arguments in March in its first thorough review of same-sex marriage.

"Unless the pace of donations starts to pick up right away, we could soon be forced over a financial cliff," ProtectMarriage.com said in an email to donors earlier this month.

ProtectMarriage.com's lead outside counsel, Charles Cooper, has not stopped work on the Supreme Court case, although he declined to comment on financial arrangements with clients.
This group were also outspent during the big 4 gay marriage battles. With this debt growing and their stance failing, maybe these haters need to try something new.

John McCain: Gay Couples are ‘Not of Paramount Importance’ to Immigration Reform

Frank Ocean wants to press charges on Chris Brown

The story continues to unfold.

Frank Ocean has already talked with the police and is "desirous of prosecution in this incident,"
according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's office. Chris Brown has brought in his lawyer, Mark Geragos to help sort out this mess.

MTV reports
Unnamed sources told the site that Geragos' team have a surveillance tape of the end of the scuffle that shows that Brown did not throw any punches. TMZ reported that the tape also clears Ocean, who does not appear to throw punches either. The fighting appears to be between the singer's respective crews. The video, however, only captures the end of the fight and is not conclusive, because it started in the parking lot of a Los Angeles recording studio where there were no cameras.

The altercation ended up in the lobby of the studio, where it was caught on camera. TMZ said Brown's account is "radically different" from that of an unnamed witness who claimed that the singer threw the first punch. That witness told TMZ that Brown started the fight after Ocean dissed him in front of his crew and refused to shake Breezy's hand. The source added that Frank laughed at the dis, while Brown was so angered he "coldcocked Ocean and started an all-out war."

Once the fight moved to the lobby, sources said it demolished the studio, as the brawlers "managed to break almost everything in the room and scare all of the staff members" before the receptionist called 911. The Sheriff's spokesman said officials do not believe the incident rises to the level of an assault and could just be a "minor scuffle over a parking spot."
 This is getting serious.

Sources say President Obama will add Same-Sex Couples in Immigration Reform

A source says that same-sex couples will be a part of the proposal in immigration reform. President Obama will talk more about this today.

BuzzFeed has heard this from several sources.
A Democratic source said: "Same-sex couples will be part of his proposal." A second source confirmed that, unlike the Senate framework released Monday, same-sex bi-national couples — those with one American and one foreign partner — will be included in the White House principles.

The decision by Obama seeks to remedy what advocates for LGBT couples view as one of the most searing inequalities under the existing federal limit on marriage to one man and one women: LGBT American citizens simply have no way to confer citizenship on their romantic partners, something that is automatic — if not always simple — for straight couples.

Under current law, such same-sex couples, even when married under state law, are not eligible for the green cards that opposite-sex couples can receive. Foreign partners of same-sex couples have in the past found their green card applications denied — often forcing couples to separate or move abroad.
I am anxious to hear what President Obama has to say about this in his press conference.

Is the Wonder Woman pilot already in Danger? UPDATED

Don't know what to make of this, but it seems the script ain't right and CW is holding out for a better story.

THR his the story:
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the project isn't completely off the table. The network, sources say, wasn't happy with the script and is awaiting a final version from writer Allan Heinberg (Grey's Anatomy). The CW, which already has picked up eight pilots this season (on par with last year), is still holding a slot open for Amazon, with the project still in contention for fall 2013-14, midseason or beyond.

Chris Brown physically assaults Frank Ocean

Another reason to lock Chris Brown in a tin box and ship to a war zone planet.

This past weekend, he attacked Frank Ocean! He and a couple of other goons attacked Frank in a WeHo parking lot.

Us Weekly has the scoop
Another day, another violent feud for Chris Brown. The 23-year-old has been accused of physically assaulting fellow R&B star Frank Ocean at a West Hollywood parking lot on Sunday Jan. 28. A report from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department confirms that "Chris Brown and the victim were involved in an altercation over a parking space. The altercation allegedly led to Chris Brown punching the victim," with Brown and Ocean's respective entourages being separated after a brief tussle.

Although the LASD does not mention the Grammy-nominated Ocean by name, he tweeted about the incident himself. "got jumped by chris and a couple guys. lol," Ocean, 24, wrote. "cut my finger now I can't play w two hands at the grammys."
This is ridic! And I want to know why and what happened. To be real, I wonder if Chris' self-hatred was catalyst for this fight.

Over 100,000 Supporters come out for Gay Marriage in France

Last week, hate leader Brian Brown was so excited about the anti-gay marriage protest in France.

Well, I guess his bubble is busted because over 100,000 gay marriage supporters took the streets of Paris.

NYT reports
Demonstrators waved banners emblazoned with phrases like “Equality of rights is not a threat” and chanted: “What do you want? Equality! When do you want it? Now!” Another placard showed a version of the French government’s seal, but with two Mariannes kissing. Under the words “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” was the slogan “No more, no less!”

According to the police, the march attracted about 125,000 people, twice the number that took part in a similar demonstration in mid-December. Two weeks ago, a rally by those opposed to the proposal drew what the police said were 340,000 people into the streets of Paris.

François Hollande, the Socialist president, promised during his campaign to legalize gay marriage within a year of taking office in May 2012. And with effective majorities in both houses of Parliament, Mr. Hollande and his government should be able to beat back various efforts by opponents to kill or amend the bill. It has been suggested that even given the long legislative process, the bill could become law as early as May.
This is good to know. Now maybe Brian will stay out France.

Question of the Day

Are you excited for season 3 of Game of Thrones?

In Arizona: You have to believe in God in order to Graduate

Arizona continues their stupid steak by introducing a bill that forces High School students to swear by God before graduating... No joke
A group of Republican lawmakers want to require Arizona students to recite a loyalty oath to the U.S. and its Constitution before they can graduate high school. They are sponsoring House Bill 2467 in the Legislature. If passed, it would make the loyalty oath a prerequisite for graduation from any public high school in Arizona starting with the 2013-14 school year.

Students would be required to say:

I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose or evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge these duties; so help me God.

The wording sounds somewhat similar to oaths of office taken by members of Congress and the U.S. president. Some states have required public employees, including school teachers, to take or sign similar oaths.
Sometimes, I think some of the folks in Arizona enjoys being the ass of this country.

New GOP Motto: If you Can't beat them, Steal from them

The GOP are desperate. They know that America is changing and the number are not in their favor. So in order the win the next presidential election... They will cheat.

TPM has the scoop
To review, here’s how it works. The US electoral college system is based on winner take all delegate allocation in all but two states. If you get just one more vote than the other candidate you get all the electoral votes. One way to change the system is go to proportional allocation. That would still give some advantage to the overall winner. But not much. The key to the Republican plan is to do this but only in Democratic leaning swing states — not in any of the states where Republicans win. That means you take away all the advantage Dems win by winning states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and so forth.
But the Republican plan goes a step further.
Rather than going by the overall vote in a state, they’d allocate by congressional district. And this is where it gets real good, or bad, depending on your point of view. Democrats are now increasingly concentrated in urban areas and Republicans did an extremely successful round of gerrymandering in 2010, enough to enable them to hold on to a substantial House majority even thoughthey got fewer votes in House races than Democrats.
In other words, the new plan is to make the electoral college as wired for Republicans as the House currently is. But only in Dem leaning states. In Republican states just keep it winner take all. So Dems get no electoral votes at all.
Another way of looking at this is that the new system makes the votes of whites count for much more than non-whites — which is a helpful thing if you’re overwhelmingly dependent on white votes in a country that is increasingly non-white.
Sad, but I'm glad the media is catching on to this.

Is Judge Dredd gay? Or is it just Fantasy?

Some of us comic fans were curious about Judge Dredd being a hot leather daddy after seeing a pic of him kissing another man.

But does it mean he's coming out? Or is this a fantasy scene. Take a look and 'judge' for yourself.

Here's more from the comic's spokesperson and the comic's writer:
A spokesman said: "We have had quite an extreme reaction.

"Dredd has always been satirical, while touching on serious issues. This is another example of this."

There is a twist in the tale, with all not being as it seems, the spokesman said.
Writer Rob Williams said Dredd's sexuality - whatever it is - was buried beneath his love for the law. He said: "Although, can you imagine what would happen if that repression ever fell away, just for an instant? Sure, Dredd could be gay.

"You can't look at the original costume design of leather and chains and not see a fetishistic edge there.

"But Dredd's feeling are so deeply hidden, he is extremely unlikely to ever let them show."

The writer said comics were a "great" place to deal with issues such as homophobia.
He said: "As long as you stay true to the character throughout - which I think 'Closet' does - you can deal with all sorts of issues in a story.

"And if they push people's buttons, fine.

"I'd rather a story be provocative than just, 'and they have a fight'.
I am interested to see how this turns out. Maybe this is like a Bobby Ewing shower moment.

Interesting Quote: Gary Bauer

"Virtually all the candidates that competed for the GOP nomination this cycle supported traditional marriage. The party platform unambiguously did, also. I think that will be the case again in 2016. Any drift in the GOP is minor compared to the all-out push that the president is making on this issue, even mentioning it in his Inaugural address. To the extent that young people, including growing numbers of young Christians support same-sex 'marriage,' it’s not a failure of the GOP, it is a failure of the culture and the church."

Civil Unions proposal clears first hurdle in Colorado

Colorado's Senate Judiciary Committee advanced the Colorado Civil Union Act yesterday. The hearing was about 4 hours, but after everyone spoke the message was clear.
The first vote came late Wednesday afternoon — and it came as no surprise to anyone — when the Senate Judiciary Committee voted 3-to-2 on party lines to send Senate Bill 11 on to the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Bringing down the gavel on the vote was Sen. Jessie Ulibarri, D-Adams County, elected in November, who had sat on the other side of the room the past two years and testified twice about how the bill’s legal protections would help support his partner and their son.

“It’s a very different year, a very exciting year,” Ulibarri told FOX31 Denver prior to the hearing. “We have folks here who are willing to stand up for committed couples and there will be a very different result this year.”

House GOP filed a brief Urging the Supreme Court to uphold DOMA

The House GOP has started the DOMA fight.

They have filed a brief asking SCOTUS to defend DOMA.
Here's the scoop from Buzzfeed:
The House leaders argue that in addition to the federal reasons, the Congress could act for the same reasons many states have acted to ban same-sex couples from marrying. They wrote:

There is a unique relationship between marriage and procreation that stems from marriage's origins as a means to address the tendency of opposite-sex relationships to produce unintended and unplanned offspring. There is nothing irrational about declining to extend marriage to same-sex relationships that, whatever their other similarities to opposite-sex relationships, simply do not share that same tendency. Congress likewise could rationally decide to foster relationships in which children are raised by both of their biological parents.

Finally, the House Republican leaders argue that laws classifying people based on sexual orientation should not be scrutinized more closely by courts, as is done with other types of laws under the Constitution's equal protection guarantees, because "the histories of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, sex, and legitimacy are different."
Whatever. The money they are wasting on this is truly ridic. Too bad it will amount to nothing.

Prop 8 Supporters File their First Supreme Court Brief

It begins.

The supporters of Prop 8 filed their 1st brief for keeping the gay marriage ban. Chris Geidner breaks the news about this on Buzzfeed:
Arguing that the case brought by same-sex couples seeking to marry was unlike past gay rights cases where the court struck down anti-gay restrictions and also unlike Loving v. Virginia, in which the court struck down bans on interracial marriage, the proponents of Proposition 8 argue that there is no historic reason "for invalidating marriage as it has existed in California for virtually all of its history, as it was universally understood throughout this Nation (and the world) until just the last decade, and as it continues to be defined in the overwhelming majority of States and Nations."
He also points out the interesting passage in the brief
Our Constitution does not mandate the traditional gendered definition of marriage, but neither does our Constitution condemn it. This Court, accordingly, should allow the public debate regarding marriage to continue through the democratic process, both in California and throughout the Nation.
Really? Lord, they will say anything. After the jump, read the full brief.

Poet Richard Blanco talks about his experience at the Obama Inauguration

Question of the Day

What was your favorite moment from the Inauguration?

Brian Brown responded to President Obama's Speech

The Inauguration wouldn't be complete if our Anti-Gay leaders didn't have something to say.

Yesterday, Brian Brown sent this mess out:
It is fitting that President Obama today takes the oath of office on two bibles — one belonging to Abraham Lincoln, and the other to Dr. King.

But as I reflect on the America we live in today and the society we are building for my eight children, I can't help but be concerned. Too many of our people live in poverty. They are impoverished not only by unemployment and the throes of a struggling economy, but by cultural forces that rob people of their inherent, God-given dignity, and entice them through false prophets and by false promises, often peddled in the guise of providing pleasure but that ultimately bring nothing but sadness and even despair.

Last November during the same election that sent President Obama to a second term, three states allowed marriage to be redefined with the president's misguided encouragement. If this is the path we're on, and it's not a good one. The President bears considerable responsibility for this as a result of his abandonment of the eternal truth of the uniqueness of the marriage relationship.

Yet as I watch the pageantry of a presidential inauguration I am reminded of the vast power and potential of our country to be a tremendous force for good.

How do we help America get on a better path, one that uplifts families, that inspires future generations to greatness?
Oh Brian... Have a seat!

President Obama's Inaugural Speech addresses LGBT Equality

In his speech, President Obama spoke about LGBT equality. This is what he said:
We, the people, declare today that the most evident of truths that all of us are created equal is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall; just as it guided all those men and women, sung and unsung, who left footprints along this great Mall, to hear a preacher say that we cannot walk alone; to hear a King proclaim that our individual freedom is inextricably bound to the freedom of every soul on Earth.

It is now our generation’s task to carry on what those pioneers began. For our journey is not complete until our wives, our mothers and daughters can earn a living equal to their efforts. Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well. Our journey is not complete until no citizen is forced to wait for hours to exercise the right to vote. Our journey is not complete until we find a better way to welcome the striving, hopeful immigrants who still see America as a land of opportunity; until bright young students and engineers are enlisted in our workforce rather than expelled from our country. Our journey is not complete until all our children, from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Appalachia to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm.

Rick Santorum think Colleges are killing Christianity

Hater King Rick Santorum is back, talking mess about how colleges are destroying Christianity. He thinks that colleges has indoctrinated the gay agenda, weakening the belief in Sweet Jesus and the gang.

He said in an interview with Tony Perkins:
The cultural indicators that I talked about earlier that are sort of going the wrong way, we're, you know, in ever-increasing numbers, less and less people here in America, you know, and believe in God, and believe in Jesus Christ, and believe in truth and right and wrong. It’s understandable, I mean, if you certainly, if you look at popular culture and what comes out of Hollywood, if you go to our schools and particularly our colleges and universities, they are indoctrinating in a sea of relativism and a sea of antagonism toward Christianity -- religion in general, but Christianity in particular. And so it’s understandable that that happens, but we, you’re right. Abortion is a symptom, marriage is a symptom, I mean pornography is, all of these are symptoms to the fundamental issue that we’ve gotten away from the truth and the Truth-Giver.
Child please, preach that mess to somebody who cares.

Interesting Quote: Daniel Radcliffe

"It was something new. But you know what, we shot that whole scene in maybe an hour and a half so it was incredibly fast-paced. I didn't really have time to stop to think and worry about it. John was very helpful in furnishing me with a lot of graphic detail of what I would be experiencing at the various stages."
Daniel discusses his gay sex scene in his latest film.
