NBA player Jason Collins comes Out!

NBA player Jason Collins has made history by being the 1st out basketball player.

He comes out through Sports Illustrated, sharing his story and reasons:
I'm a 34-year-old NBA center. I'm black. And I'm gay.
I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I'm happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn't the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, "I'm different." If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I'm raising my hand.
My journey of self-discovery and self-acknowledgement began in my hometown of Los Angeles and has taken me through two state high school championships, the NCAA Final Four and the Elite Eight, and nine playoffs in 12 NBA seasons.
This is so huge right now, so huge. Please read the whole story here

Kobe Bryant said the F-word, but didn't mean to offend anyone

Kobe, Kobe, Kobe... Here below is a clip of Kobe Bryant called the ref a "f**king fag" at last night game.

HRC jumped on it fast with this statement:
"Hopefully Mr. Bryant will recognize that as a person with such fame and influence, the use of such language not only offends millions of LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] people around the world, but also perpetuates a culture of discrimination and hate that all of us, most notably Mr. Bryant, should be working to eradicate."
Well, (with the help of GLAAD) Kobe apologizes, released this statement:
"What I said last night should not be taken literally. My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period," Bryant said in a statement issued through the Lakers. "The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone."
Kobe, you should apologize on live TV. Your fans, kids and everyone else needs to SEE and HEAR you say you're sorry. Regardless of your anger, you could have done more harm than you know. So, I hope you think about this and possibly do something more than release a statement.

Handing Holding Basketball Players spark Homophobic Foolishness

See this clip?

This is the Raptors’ Leandro Barbosa and Reggie Evans holding hands after their big win over the Orlando Magic. Well, you how fools are; many commentators had things to say about it.

Outsports.com has the story:
While Barbosa remained stone-face, Evans was good-natured and gave a big smile. The duo had a strong night with 18 points on 9-for-15 shooting. That didn’t stop many from spewing homophobia on YouTube at the players, their team, and a Toronto fan and RealGM moderator named Little Ozzy [some language NSFW]…

4lyfesports: so not only does [head coach] jay triano have to deal with barnani and calderon but these fags has well?!?!?!?! its a miracle they even won 21 games!!! give him coach of the year!

ir0ckfartz: Wow, you guys are talking over the YouTube comments sections? How romantic…ha, faggs.

Creamybrown07: Little Ozzy is a hugeee fucking panzy who gets it up his ass by not only Barbosa and Reggie, but by the rest of the team, including Triano, the golden boy Colangelo, Even Gheradini! The Raptors Mascot actually ended up jizzing on Little Ozzys face, while Ozzy took it like the gay fuck he is. … Disgusting

MrDarkStalker15: I think Reggie Evans is GAY. He likes tossing the salad. Remember him grabbing Chris Kaman’s balls? I think Leandro Barbosa knows that Evans likes men holding his hand so he’s messing with him….
These insecure men, so stupid and immature about their moment. This truly sad to see how ignorance continues to run rampant.

Interesting Quote: Michael Medved

An insane level of political correctness recently dictated that George Washington University must accept a self-proclaimed man on the women’s basketball team. Kye Allums, a junior forward, “came out” recently as a transgendered male, and the team officially recognized her male identity as she awaits gender reassignment surgery. This absurd situation means either that the athletic officials inexplicably allow a man to play on a woman’s team, or else they don’t really consider Allums a man.
If male players said their essential nature was female, could they play on women’s teams? Separate competition for males and females recognizes the huge physical differences between the two genders—distinctions that remain even after hormone injections and genital surgery. The Allums example suggests that we take athletic competition too seriously to allow gender classification based on feelings alone.

Meet Kye Allums, the NCAA’s first Div. 1 Transgender basketball player

History is being made! Kye Allums is the 1st Transgender basketball player in NCAA. He plays for George Washington University:
Not many people noticed a slight change on the George Washington University website earlier this year. It concerned a player on the school’s women’s basketball team named Kay-Kay Allums. Just a couple letters were taken away, a Y was moved and an E was added to form the player’s new name: Kye Allums. To most people it was meaningless, but to Allums the change was the most significant of his lifetime.

“A name is just a bunch of letters, but the letters make up a word and the words that make up my name have so many more emotions behind them,” Allums said. "My old name, that’s just not me. When I hear Kye, everything feels okay, everything is right.”

For the last 20 years, Kay-Kay Allums had appeared to the world as female. She was born with the anatomy that other women have. Her mom tried to dress her in only the most feminine clothes. But inside was a man waiting to burst out of the female body he was born in.

On Nov. 13, Kye Allums will introduce himself to the NCAA basketball world at the Best Buy Classic in Minneapolis in a game against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. When he steps foot on the court, Allums will be the first publicly transgender person to play NCAA Div. 1 college basketball.

Good Luck, Kye. The fam will be routing for you.
