2 Men Killed during Black Pride Weekend in the ATL

Two men were shot yesterday while they were attending Black Pride in Atlanta.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victims as Calvin Streater, 26, of Atlanta and Samuel Blizzard Jr., 21, of Spring Grove, Va.

Streater was shot in the head, according to Mark Guilbeau, senior investigator for the medical examiner's office. The autopsy on Blizzard is not complete, Guilbeau said.

Blizzard was a Georgia State University student, Channel 2 Action News reported.

A friend found the victims in an apartment at the Station at Richmond Hill Apartments, in the 1700 block of Richmond Circle.

Police told Channel 2 there were no signs of forced entry and detectives believe the victims knew their killer.

"It's my understanding that both victims in this case were here for the Black Gay Pride festivities over the weekend," Maj. Keith Meadows told the station. "We are questioning a number of their friends in an effort to retrace their steps."

This is truly sad. Hopefully, the killer is found soon. My heart goes out to the family.

Oh my. This is awful. It means that the right wingnuts are stirred up enough, and comfortable enough with their hate, to just go out and kill people.
People who in their opinion, don' matter and deserve to die anyway. I hope they are caught and really get the death penalty for hate crimes committed.
My thoughts are with the families, too. And with all of us.

Why is it that fools always want to mess up the festivities? Ugh!
