WATCH NAACP President Benjamin Jealous speak at the New York City LGBT Community Center
NAACP President Benjamin Jealous made history by speaking at the New York City LGBT Community Center a few days ago. He was there to promote, One Nation Working Together, a rally for October 2nd in Washington, D.C.
As a queer Latino man I said let the discourse begin. I do think that for NAACP to come to the LGTB community and approached them, is the right step. It is a humble act that needs further examination. I do think that conversations are not just Blah, Blah, Blah. I think that if we are really interested in our welfare we need to sit and talk and resolve our differences. And over all, we really need to consolidate. Who ever posted this video forgot that within the gay community racism still exist and xenophobia is a table conversation. But can we afford the division nowadays?
