We have to be clear on things like this. There is nothing wrong with an adult male mentoring young men. But as soon as your child is getting jewelry, cars, scholarships, vacations, clothing, housing, etc. from someone. You need to pay better than close attention. Regardless of the intention, no man should be treating your child like he's their significant other. And all those gifts go in the direction of boyfriend/girlfriend rather than mentor/mentee.

Things like this are what makes good, respectful and helpful men, who could be great role models for young people, not want to get involved in mentoring. A lot of young men who need male role models lose out because of crap like this creating a stigma about men who take interest in the lives and futures of young people.

Could someone clarify for me if he had sexual contact with these young men while they were underage or after? They never seem to say in the clips. All I hear is that it was gifts until they were "of age" and then the sex stuff kicked in.

I'm so very proud of Don. I loved him before, but I have such a new found respect for him. I thought this interview was one of the best he done and I don't think anyone could have presented it the way he did. Like someone said before me, he made it personal, and put a face to the horrible abuse.
