I think it's great! A step in the right direction. However, devil's advocate, how does it help gays in the rest of the nation? That's just one Californian city.
I'm hoping and praying that the stay does not become permanent and that same-sex marriages may resume in California during the years-long appeals process, because the deprivation of our fundamental civil rights for even one day is one day too long.

We need to keep focused though. Some hurdles and murky waters wait ahead and we need to be prepared.
As Cubby states, I hope they lift the stay.
