CNN's Don Lemon Responds to Critics, 'Attack The Problem Not The Messenger'

After Don Lemon expressed his opinions about the Black Community, he was not welcomed with the warmest reception. So he's responding to the critics of his views

I see his point, I don't completely agree on the style of his message... But I get it.

I think his own community was very harsh on him. One has to ask the question... Did he hit too close to home?

I'm not throwing shade. Just asking the question.

Also, he has managed to get some kind of discussion going.

Don was spot on. Some Blacks want to keep other Blacks in the dark. Just like you read in the headlines a Black kid gets accepted in a certain college and then he is found dead or shot by other Blacks.

I said it before, and I'll say it again - I Love Don Lemon.

I personally don't watch the news, so I am grateful to you, Wonderman for sharing these. It's nice to get to the good stuff and not have to wait through all of the nonsense that has become "news" today.

I would like to invite some of you to check out this YouTube vid enitled "On don Lemon, Race, & "Respectability". For me, Don Lemon didn't really address much of the issues we face, and offended single mothers who work hard to provide for their children.

I mean, Oprah wasn't littering or busting a sag while being denied the opportunity to look at an expensive purse, for which the clerk felt was too expensive for her.

The word "nigga" didn't come into play for the African American NYPD Chief who was stopped and frisked. I could go on. If you can, I do recommend checking out that video because I feel it speaks for a lot of people who can't find the right words to explain why Don Lemon didn't approach the situation with much tact.
