My Top 5 80s Musical Movies

Let's face it, the 80s had the best musical movies. Some were good, some were bad and some were deliciously bad (my favorite kind).

These movies were something to me because they ravaged my little neophyte gay mind. Regardless of how silly and campy they were, these movies still hold a special place in my heart.

So here are my top 5 80s musical movies.

Popeye

The Pirate Movie- oh Christopher Atkins

A Chorus Line

Xanadu

Best Little Whorehouse in Texas - my favorite scene (NSFW)

I did not know about "The Pirate Movie" and now that I see it's a pop rehash of Penzance... I wanna throw it in a pile of manure and never bring it out again.

Best Little Whorehouse in Texas....went out and bought the soundtrack straight away after seeing the movie. I still play it today!

I hate to admit it but I loved "The Pirate Movie" with Kristy and Christopher. I saw it numerous times in the theater and even bought the soundtrack. Not surprisingly, I love Gilbert and Sullivan.

please allow me to flame out for a minute about my favorite movie of all time, Xanadu.
I hate to reveal how effing old my tired ass is, but I saw it twice in the theater, and have owned the soundtrack on vinyl, 8-track, cassette and CD.
The greatest dream of my life would be to sing the Suddenly duet with ONJ.
She was my first diva crush. I made my parents buy all her albums for me (Don't Stop Believin, Have you Never Been Mellow, Come on Over, etc). And they had the nerve to act surprised when I came out.
When I saw Xanadu, all I could think was how I wanted to turn into a bright yellow streak of light and roller skate right the hell out of that little redneck town.

The best .... in Texas had some major naked guys - I was young then but loved those scenes!

Huge fan of Xanadu - I saw the Musical on Broadway not too long ago and loved it - Magic by ONJ os one of my gave 80's songs!

Oh my god I've never seen any of these! And I'm supposed to be a 1980's enthusiast!
